3D printing technology enables proper objects to be made through an additive manufacturing method, but resulting in dimension deviation of the product due to contraction phenomenon as cooling melted filament resin injected from high-temperature use environment. In this research, we studied on acrylic adhesives for 3D printer build sheet in order to fabricate high-quality products with a precise shape and to well-mount without distortion. The solvent-free UV-curable acrylic adhesive formulation was designed by adding 4-acryloylmorpholine (ACMO) with high adhesion, toughness, glass transition temperature so that adhesion properties are stable at high temperature and products are easily mounted/detached from the adhesives. The designed formulation was polymerized through two-steps using post-addition of monomers. Using this, the acrylic adhesive was coated to make a film and then analyzed using various experimental techniques. As a result, the fabricated adhesive exhibited high glass transition temperature and there was little gap in peel strength before and after thermal treatment. Moreover, it was confirmed by rheological analysis that this adhesive can provide great bonding/debonding ability without distortion. We demonstrated the fabrication of a rectangular product using a 3D printing method using our acrylic adhesive as a build sheet. Mounting ability and workability were satisfactory and dimension deviation of the product was tiny. Because the product is easily detachable from the acrylic adhesive developed here than conventional build sheets, it is expected that this will provide work convenience to users who use the 3D printer.
Various polylactic acid (PLA) blends were reinforced with untreated or silane-treated micro-sized cellulose fiber (MCF), successfully prepared as 3D printing filaments and then printed using a fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printer. In this study, we focused on developing 3D-printed MCF/PLA composites through silane treatment of MCF and investigating the effect of silane treatment on the various properties of FFF 3D-printed composites. Fourier transform infrared spectra confirmed the increase in hydrophobic properties of silane-treated MCF by showing the new absorption peaks at 1,100 cm-1, 1,030 cm-1, and 815 cm-1 representing C-NH2, Si-O-Si, and Si-CH2 bonds, respectively. In scanning electron microscope images of silane-treated MCF filled PLA composites, the improved interfacial adhesion between MCF and PLA matrix was observed. The mechanical properties of the 3D-printed MCF/PLA composites with silane-treated MCF were improved compared to those of the 3D-printed MCF/PLA composites with untreated MCF. In particular, the highest tensile and flexural modulus values were observed for S-MCF10 (5,784.77 MPa) and S-MCF5 (2,441.67 MPa), respectively. The thermal stability of silane-treated MCF was enhanced by delaying the initial thermal decomposition temperature compared to untreated MCF. The thermal decomposition temperature difference at T95 was around 26℃. This study suggests that the effect of silane treatment on the 3D-printed MCF/PLA composites is effective and promising.
In this paper, we analyzed the spectroscopic properties of strip to analyzer urine qualitatively & quantitatively and make urine analyzer system stable by spectroscopy, and research the property of preamplifier unit. The analysis of spectroscopic properties of 10 pads in the strip is used for determine the wave length of light source of optic detector unit and used for basic materials which are necessary that we develop the algorithm analyzing the density grade of pad accurately. We make preamplifier unit by using the current to frequency method to measure the distribution of pad color. We implemented urine analyzer system. This system's hardware is composed of measuring unit for detect of distribution density of strip pad, main processing unit, communication unit, interface device, thermal printer, and indicator. The software consists of the program which manage the argument of test, proportion initial value of urine analyzer and calibrate analyzed result.

We present the design, fabrication and experimental results of 4-bit digital microinjectors, whose ejected droplet volumes are adjusted by the digital operation of a 4-bit microheater array. We design the reference microinjectors as well as its comparative test structures. In the fabrication process, we use a five-mask micromachining process and the total chip size of the fabricated microinjector is $7,640{\mu}m{\times}5,260{\mu}m.$ We measure the ejected droplet volumes and velocities, which are adjusted from $12.1{\pm}1.0~55.6{\pm}14.7pl\;and\;2.3{\pm}0.1~15.7{\pm}0.8m/s.$ respectively, depending on the 15 possible combinations of 4-bit microheater array. We also experimentally characterize the effect of geometric variation including the microheater size, inter-microheater gap, microchannel width and sequential operation of microheater array on the ejected droplet volume and velocity. Among these parameters, we find that the microheater size is the most dominant parameter affected to the ejected droplet volumes and velocities. Thus, the present microinjector has a potential for application to the high-resolution inkjet printers with multiple gray levels or high-precision fluid injectors with variable volume control.

An electrostatic inkjet head can be used for manufacturing processes of large display systems and printed circuit boards (PCB) as well as inkjet printers because an electrostatic field provides an external force which can be manipulated to control sizes of droplets. The existing printing methods such as thermal bubble and piezo inkjet heads have shown difficulties to control the ejection of the droplets for printing applications. Thus, the new inkjet head has been proposed using the electrostatic force. A numerical analysis has been performed to calculate the intensity of the electrostatic field using the Maxwell's equation. Also, experiments have been carried out to investigate the droplet movement using a downward capillary with outside diameter of $500{\mu}m$. Gravity, surface tension, and electrostatic force have been analyzed with high voltages for a drop-on-demand ejection. It has been observed that the droplet size decreases and the frequency of the droplet formation and the velocity of the droplet ejection increase with increasing the intensity of the electrostatic field using high-speed camera.

3D printing technology and its applications have grown rapidly in academia and industry. We consider a 3D printing system designed for the selective laser sintering (SLS) method, which is one of the powder bed fusion (PBF) techniques to build up the final product by layering sintered powder slices. Thermal distortion of printing products is a critical challenge in 3D printing. This study investigates temperature-dependent conformational behaviors of 3D printed samples of sintered poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK) powders using molecular dynamics simulations. The wear and chemical resistance properties of PEEK are understood, as it is a well-known biocompatible material used for implants. However, studies on physical phenomena at nanoscale in PEEK are rarely published in public. We simulate dissipative particle dynamics to elucidate how a cavity regime forms in PEEK at different system temperatures. We demonstrate how PEEK structures deform subject to the system temperature distribution.

The optical and electrical characteristics of plasma display panel(PDP) using the vacuum in-line sealing technology compared with the conventional sealing process in this research. This PDP consisted of MgO protecting layer by e-beam evaporation and battier rib, transparent dielectric layer, dielectric layer, and electrodes by screen printer and then sealed off on Ne-Xe(4 %) 400 Torr and 430。C. The brightness and luminous efficiency were good as the base vacuum level was higher, and it was to check the advantage of high vacuum level sealing, one of the strong points of the vacuum in-line sealing process. However, the brightness and luminous efficiency was dropped sharply because of a crack on MgO protecting layer by the difference of the expansion and contraction stress on high temperature in the vacuum states between MgO and substrate. Fortunately, the crack was prevented by MgO was deposited on higher temperature than 300。C. Finally, the PDP, was fabricated by the vacuum in-line sealing process, resulted the lower brightness than processing only the thermal annealing treatment in the vacuum chamber, but the luminous efficiency was increased by the reducing power consumption with the decreasing luminous current. The vacuum in-line sealing technology was not to need the additional thermal annealing process and could reduce the fabrication process and bring the excellent optical and electrical properties without the crack of MgO protecting layer than the conventional sealing process.

Pellets are manufactured using wood by-products. The combustion efficiency of pellets depends on the pellet manufacturing process, the types of materials mixed while manufacturing and the wood pellet stoves themselves. In this study, we developed a multi-layer combustor to be used in a wood pellet stove, for the purpose of reducing environmental pollution and energy waste due to incomplete combustion. The multi-layer combustor was designed to compensate for the shortcomings of existing combustors. A CAD (Computer Aided Design) model was verified using a 3D printer and a prototype was developed. The combustion experiments were conducted on commercial and proposed combustors using pellets of the same brand, manufacturing date, place and specifications. From the experiments, it was found that the proposed combustor produced the lowest carbon monoxide (CO) emission and highest thermal efficiency.

The paper presents a single-heater microfluid injector, whose ejected droplet volume is adjusted by digital current path control for a single microheater. The previous droplet volume adjustable methods have used the digital current control for multiple heaters or the analog current control for a single heater, while the present method uses the digital current control for a single microheater. Two different microinjectors, having a rectangular heater and a circular hearter, are designed and fabricated in the chip area of $7.64\;mm{\times}5.26\;mm$. The fabricated microinjectors have been tested and characterized for the number, size, shape and lifetime of the generated bubbles as well as for the volume and velocity of the ejected droplets. The input power for the rectangular heater and the circular heater has been varied in the ranges of $8.7{\sim}24.9{\mu}W\;and\;8.1{\sim}43.8{\mu}W$, respectively. The projected area of the generated bubble has been changed in the ranges of $440{\sim}l,3600{\mu}m^2\;and\;800{\sim}3,300{\mu}m^2$ for the rectangular heater and the circular heater, respectively. The microinjector with the rectangular heater ejects three discrete levels of the droplet in the volume range of $9.4{\sim}20.7pl$ with the velocity range of $0.8{\sim}1.7m/s$, while the microinjector with the circular heater achieves five discrete levels of the droplet in the volume range of $7.4{\sim}27.4pl$ with the velocity range of $0.5{\sim}2.8m/s$.

Objective: This study aimed to identify the size distributions of particulate matter emitted during 3D printing according to operational conditions and estimate particle inhalation exposure doses at each respiratory region. Methods: Four types of printing filaments were selected: acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polylactic acid (PLA), Laywood, and nylon. A fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printer was used for printing. Airborne particles between 10 nm and $10{\mu}m$ were measured before, during, and after printing using real-time monitors under extruder temperatures from 215 to $290^{\circ}C$. Inhalation exposures, including inhaled and deposited doses at the respiratory regions, were estimated using a mathematical model. Results: Nanoparticles dominated among the particles emitted during printing, and more particles were emitted with higher temperatures for all materials. Under all temperature conditions, the Laywood emitted the highest particle concentration, followed by ABS, PLA, and nylon. The particle concentration peaked for the initial 10 to 20 minutes after starting operations and gradually decreased with elapsed time. Nanoparticles accounted for a large proportion of the total inhaled particles in terms of number, and about a half of the inhaled nanoparticles were estimated to be deposited in the alveolar region. In the case of the mass of inhaled and deposited dose, particles between 0.1 and $1.0{\mu}m$ made up a large proportion. Conclusion: The number of consumers using 3D printers is expected to expand, but hazardous emissions such as thermal byproducts from 3D printing are still unclear. Further studies should be conducted and appropriate control strategies considered in order to minimize human exposure.
