A combined theoretical and numerical study is conducted to design a slit nozzle for large-area liquid coating. The objectives are to guarantee the uniformity in the injected flow and to provide the capability of explicit control of flow rate. The woking fluid is a dilute aqueous solution containing single-walled carbon nanotubes and its low viscosity and the presence of dispersed materials pose technical hurdles. A theoretical analysis leads to a guideline for the geometric design of a slit nozzle. The CFD-based numerical experiment is employed as a verification tool. A new flow passage unit, connected to the nozzle chamber, is proposed to permit the control of flow rate by using the commodity pressurizer. The numerical results confirm the feasibility of this idea. The optimal geometry of internal structure of the nozzle has been searched for numerically and the related issues are discussed.

The powder propellant rocket which uses micron-sized particles as fuel is storable and costly. Functions like thrust control and multiple-ignition can be realized by changing powder mass flow rate. In this paper, we discuss the theoretical performance of bi-propellant and mono-propellant powder rocket. When used as the fluidization gas, helium can improve specific impulse dramatically. The stability of the powder feeding device is preliminarily quantified through metal/N2O powder rocket hot fire tests.
In the high pressure state, the leakage flow rate of hydraulics is one of serious problems and the great reason to decrease the volume efficiency. In this paper, I tried to clarify tribology characteristics for the slipper hydrostatic bearing in swash plate type axial piston pumps and motors by means of experiment . I measured the leakage flow rate between swash plate and piston shoe with change the supply pressure and oil temperature at a swash plate angle of 0。 . And I also investigated the slipper pocket pressure and calculated oil film thickness for theoretical method. So. 1 have analyzed the tribology characteristics of hydrostatic bearing for leakage flow rate and oil film thickness with oil temperature and supply pressure.
Various studies on the critical flow models for sub-cooled and/or saturated water were reviewed, especially on Fauske, Moody, and Henry for basic theoretical models; Zaloudek for insight into physical phenomena for a critical flow in an orifice type flow path; Sozzi & Sutherland for a critical flow test of saturated and sub-cooled water at high pressure for orifice and nozzles; and a Marviken test on a full-scale critical flow test. In addition, critical flow tests of sub-cooled water for the break simulators in integral effect test (IET) facilities were also investigated, and a hybrid concept using Moody's and Fauske's models was considered by the authors. In the comparison of the models for the selected test data, discussions of the effect of the diameters, predictions of the critical flow models, and design aspects of break simulator for SBLOCA scenarios in the IET facilities were presented. In the effect of diameter on the critical flow rate with respect to all dimensional scales, it was concluded that the effect of diameter was found irrespective of diameter sizes. In addition, the diameter effect on slip ratio affecting the critical flow rate was suggested. From a comparison of the critical flow models and selected test data, the Henry-Fauske model of the MARS-KS code was found to be the best model predicting the critical flow rate for the selected test data under study.
Measuring the velocity of fluid flow, semiconductor flow sensors are widely used in the various fields of engineering and science such as the semiconductor manufacturing processes and electronic control engines for automobiles. In the near future, this type of sensors will replace present hot wire type sensors or other type flow sensor due to its low price, easy handling and small size. To develop the advanced semiconductor flow sensor, it is necessary to obtain characteristics of the flow and the heat transfer around the sensor in advance. In the present study, the theoretical analysis including mathematical modeling and numerical calculation to predict the characteristics of heat transfer and flow field around the sensor was carried out. The main parameters for optimum design of the flow sensor are the free stream velocity, the heat generation rate of silicon arm and the distance between arms. Effects of these parameters on flow and heat transfer around the sensor and the temperature difference between arms are examined.
In the present, The theoretical and numerical results of gas flow characteristics inside a swirl injector are presented. For this purpose a one-dimensional (theoretical) model and 2D/3D CFD models are proposed for use in the design of the injector. It was found that contradictory to the classical theory about the compressible flow, the swirl has a significant effect on the mass flow rate and the choking conditions. It was found that the one-dimensional model provides reasonably accurate results compared with the 2D/3D numerical results, and thus can be used at the initial stage of the swirl-injector design process.

In this paper, a theoretical analysis is carried out to study the lubrication characteristics of sealless piston for hydraulic cylinders. The analytical pressure distributions are obtained solving one-dimensional Reynolds equation with partially tapered moving piston. Nearly analytical expressions for lateral forces acting on the piston and leakage flow rate through the clearance are also presented. Using the analytical expressions, the influence of design parameters on lubrication characteristics can be easily evaluated without numerical analysis. Composite-shaped piston which minimizes the leakage flow rate is the optimum in sealless piston for hydraulic cylinder.
In the high rotational speed and pressure state, the leakage flow rate of the axial piston pump is one of the serious problems and make great reasons to decrease the volume efficiency. In this study, tribology characteristics is clarified for the hydrostatic slipper bearing in the swash plate type axial piston pump, by means of theoretical analysis for the different shape of the hydrostatic slipper bearing. It was analyzed by Mathcad software and used equal conditions at $0^{\circ}$ swash plate angle in each model. The results show that performance characteristics of the swash plate type axial piston pump are significantly influenced by the shape of the hydrostatic slipper bearing.
In this paper, temperature distributions in radial fin of hyperbolic profile for steady -state with no heat generation are obtained by one-dimensional analytical method, finite difference method and experiment respectively. Heat flow rate and fin efficiency from the fin model are obtained by analytical method. To compare the exact solutions obtained by theoretical analysis with the results obtained by finite difference method, cylindrical shape is selected. Particularly, equations of finite difference method for cylindrical shape with irregular boundary are rearranged and formulated. Consequently, temperature distributions in radial fin can certify that are similar to exact solutions. From theoretical analysis, the effects according to heat flow rate and fin efficiency are related to variation of parameters which are fin thickness ${\delta}_o$, fin base temperature $T_o$, thermal conductivity K with same basic dimensions and the fleets are studied and compared.
