A Study on the Characteristics of Inverter Type X-Ray Genertator (보급형 인버터식 X선발생장치의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The conventional types of X-ray generators were bulky in physical size and heavy in weight and the control accuracies of the output voltages were not always satisfacotry. The high frequency switching inverter and converter technology on power conversion and control systems have been greatly closed up introducing power semiconducot devices. To decreasing the volume and the weight of high voltage transformer and to stabilize ripple. In this paper the newly developed x-ray generator in a low cost using duty modulation PWM inverter. This system verify improved performance by stabilize ripple of X-ray tube voltage and compared the reproducibility linearity and dose in single phase three phase and PSU.

  • The push pull forward converter is a very suitable circuit for low output voltage, high output current applications with a wide input voltage range. This converter can be miniaturized by integrate magnetic components such as the output inductor, the transformer and the input inductor. We considered of the efficiency for the push pull forward converter. Developed the push pull forward converter rating are of $36{\sim}72V$ input and 3.3V/30A output. In this converter. the efficiency was measured by 76.4% at full load and 82.95% at half load. The maximum efficiency is up to 83.% at 200kHz, 11A output.

  • In order to investigate the voltage drop compensation effect of AT for domestic railway vehicle base, the parameters of AT voltage drop of railroad car base are Z3 (Impedance of feeder line), Xn ( Distance from railroad vehicle to AT to SS), and Dn (distance between both ATs of railway vehicle).In addition, when installed in a SSP for a railway vehicle base, there is no AT and feeder line in the railway vehicle base except for the SSP for the main line and the SSP for the railway vehicle base, so that if zero or ignored, the AC single-phase two- It can be confirmed that it becomes a form.

All the magnetic components (output inductor, transformer, input filter) can be integrated into a single core. The integrated magnetics can reduce the number of the magnetic components. Developed the push pull forward converter rating are of 36 $\~$72V input and 3.3V/30A output. In this converter, the efficiency was measured by $76.4\%$ at full load and 82.95$\%$ at full load. The maximum efficiency is up to 83.$\%$ at 200kHz switching frequency, l1A output.

  • This paper present the Three-Level converter for high power application. In converter system, magnetic components are important devices used for energy storage, energy transfer, galvanic isolation and filtering. The proposed Three-Level converter is to reduce the number of magnetic components. The secondary rectification was discussed by a single core transformer winding. The result of the analysis are verified using 1kW prototype.

  • According to the improvement of the HTS wires performance, several types of HTS superconducting machines, such as, transformer, motors, current limiters, and transmission cables are being developed. Degradation of the critical current in HTS tape owing to external field is very important subject in developing the HTS machines. Considering that stacked HTS tapes are widely used to develop the large HTS machines, the critical current characteristics of stacked HTS tapes in external field need to be examined. In this paper, we present critical current characteristics of 4-stacked HTS tapes which are exposed to the external field. HTS tape with critical current of 4-stacked HTS tape. Test results prove that four times critical current of single HTS tape is smaller than critical current of stacked HTS tape in high external field.

  • This paper presents the circuit modeling and control methods of PWM DC/DC converter with isolated dual outputs. The dual output converter consists of a transformer with a single secondary winding and two switches. The proposed control algorithm is that required inductor current according to the loads is feed-forwarded to the PI current controller. The proposed control method has better response characteristics than conventional PI control method at load change.

  • This paper presents a new configure rectifier which has improved input power factor and efficiency for DC arc weldings. Two rectifiers are series connected and they are single-phase full-wave phase controlled rectifiers that use a transformer with two center-tapped secondary. The input power factor can be improved by controlling the each phase of rectifiers sequentially, and then the efficiency can be also improved because the reactive component currents will be reduced. It is confirmed that the proposed rectifiers has about 80% of input power factor and efficiency with the experimental results which are carried out at the output ranges of 100A to 300A.

  • This paper describes fault analysis of a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker of a transformer in a hydro power plant which is connected to the 154kV line. The fault is a single-line-to-ground fault, so that it gives power generation halt and economical loss. The analysis has been done in aspects of the status of the breaker, insulation degradation, surge invasion and earthing resistance of the switchyard.
