  • In this paper, we propose a method of designing neural networks using biological inspired developmental and evolutionary concept. The living things are best information processing system in themselves. One individual is developed from a generative cell. And a species of this individual have adapted itself to the environment by evolution. Ontogeny of organism is embodied in cellular automata and phylogeny of species is realized by evolutionary algorithms. The connection among cells is determined by a rule of cellular automata. In order to obtain the best neural networks in the environment, we evolve the arrangement of initial cells. The cell, that is neuron of neural networks, is modeled on chaotic neuron with firing or rest state like biological neuron. A final output of network is measured by frequency of firing state. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by applying it to navigation problem of robot.

  • This study is written with a purpose to foresee the changes of way of life in the 21st century trough recognizing an environment based on a correct ecological world-view and to create environmental design of seeing the nature and humans as one organism. This study is focused especially in environmental design and written generally based on urban ecology human ecology cultural ecology and plant ecology with this multi-interdisciplanary approach,. To understand meaning of ecosytem by considering the theory of ecology for ecological approach of the environmental design and to grope for possibility of applying environmental design by considering what to analyze and how to differenciate concept for ecological environmental plan from the mechanical design. Through this study it was realized that the ecological design starts from the recognistion of seeing the humans and nature as a one and form being aware of signficance of all the living things in our surrounding environment.

  • Gamma-ray has some advantages as a weapon: it has the ability to transmutate matter, high penetrability through materials, and it is very harmful to living things. So it is worth to study the features of gamma-ray weapon in order to utilize it. Such abilities were simulated on the basis of Monte Carlo simulation program GEANT4. For the simulation conceptual design of gamma-ray weapon was conducted. High energy electrons, which were necessary for the high energy gamma-rays, were produced by linear electron accelerator, of which the parameters were derived from the Pohang Light Source(PLS-II). Gamma-rays were get by bremsstrahlung mechanism. The spectra of gamma-rays, that were measured at distances of 500 m, 1000 m, 1500 m and 2000 m, were gained by GEANT4.

  • In the philosophical sense, aZen teacher would probably say there is no answer to the Question. Whatnis Zen\ulcorner Zen is an approach to life, a way of being , rather then a philisophy or set doctrine. Modern living people quest for peace and tranquility has led designers and decorators to look to East to the natural harmony and blance of Asian home and to the simpicity of their art and design. Zen style interiors are simplicity and serenity. These imply the paring down of a cluttered environment and concentration on creating harmony. balance, touch, and texture. By achieving these things you can create a place where the spiritual or inner needs can be addressed and where you can indulge in calming or stimulating the senses with light, space, and free flow of energy In Zen interior we approach 'Homoㆍaesthetcus' by feeling and' Homoㆍreligious' by mind. "Less is more", this phrase has made the pared down environment an interior form.

  • Living in the present, specially in this multi-cultural society, we have to look back our tradition in many aspects. And we try to find out our own identity. Color is very important element to decide what is traditional or not. And it‘s a prominent factor for design subject visually. With the color from traditional residence, we will figure out traditional color and it‘s combination which the people prefer today, so we can applicate and develop it in the present design. Using color palette which has extracted from traditional building and space, a survey has done of university students for finding out which they think of traditional color. The result showed that Y-R type and Y-R type in color palette was the most traditional things by the students. This study is meaningful in the way of clarifying that university students think what is the traditional color and color palette.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is the most creative and focused technology to be employed today. It increases the living conditions of both individuals and society. IoT offers the ability to recognize and incorporate physical devices across the globe through a single network by connecting different devices by using various technologies. As part of IoTs, significant questions are posed about access to computer and user privacy-related personal details. This article demonstrates the three-layer architecture composed of the sensor, routing, and implementation layer, respectively, by highlighting the security risks that can occur in various layers of an IoT architecture. The article also involves countermeasures and a convenient comparative analysis by discussing major attacks spanning from detectors to application. Furthermore, it deals with the basic protocols needed for IoT to establish a reliable connection between objects and items.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine grandparents' role to their grandchildren, the role type, and the variables that influence the role. For this purpose, data were collected from 542 grandparents through questionnaire. The main findings are as follows: 1. The most frequent role activity that grandparents perform include 'advising their grandchildren to be successful,' 'encouraging them to study hard,' 'having them help housework,' and 'teaching them how to behave', whereas the least one is 'to teach things such as cooking, paduk, and chess.' 2. Supporting role, educating role and raising role are three types of grandparents' role activity to their grandchildren. 3. One of the significant variables affecting their role level is living arrangement of grandparents. In addition, age, economic level, and educational level are partially effective variables in grandparents' role, along with whether they work or not, how often they meet their grandchildren, and how old their grandchildren are. However, it is not among significant variables whether they are healthy, or whether they are paternal or maternal.

  • Globalization, unpredictable markets, increased products customization and frequent changes in products, production technologies and machining systems have become a complexity in today's manufacturing environment. One key strategy for coping with the evolution of this situation is to develop or apply an enable technology such as intelligent manufacturing. Intelligent manufacturing system (IMS) is characterized by decentralized, distributed, networked compositions of heterogeneous and autonomous systems. The model of IMS is inherited from the organization of the living systems in biology and nature so that the manufacturing system has the advanced characteristics inspired from biology such as self-adaptation, self-diagnosis, and selfhealing. To prove this concept, an innovative system with applying the advanced information and communication technology such as internet of things, cognitive agent are proposed to integrate, organize and allocate the machining resources. Innovative system is essential for modern machining system to flexibly and quickly adapt to new challenges of manufacturing environment.

  • Recently, we can see worldwide the rapid increase in the population of the aged people, while that of young people is decreasing. Especially present Japan has a super-aged society, and it is a big social problem how to take effective measures to that in the future, Some items as well as researches have come out of various research them to the user. Such a change in population will be seen also in South Korea. Because South Korea has many social things in common with Japan, though they have different languages. Through this report, it is expected that it will be a good example for Japan PT to expand its activities and will connect to the future joint research of South Korea and Japan, by introducing it to South Korea.

  • Proteoform diversity is greatly increased by glycosylation, the primary post-translational modification of proteins. Glycans, also known as oligosaccharides, are molecules that are essential to almost all living things. They can affect protein folding and functionality, modulate cell-cell interactions, and support the proliferation of numerous diseases when they are found on cell surfaces or bound to proteins. A thorough understanding of their fundamental structure is necessary to gain insight into their characteristics and functions. But a major obstacle is the structural intricacy of glycans by design. The stereochemistry and regiochemistry of carbohydrates vary and are frequently branched. Because of its superior sensitivity and the abundance of fragmentation information it can provide, mass spectrometry is now the method of choice for glycan and glycopeptide analysis. Differentiating between the structures of isomeric and isobaric glycopeptides, however, presents a difficulty for MS-based characterization. Ion mobility plus mass spectrometry (IM-MS) has become a very promising new method for glycan research in recent years. Recent developments in the growing discipline of glycosylation analysis utilizing IM-MS are outlined in this review, with a focus on the MS methodology and its ability to resolve isomeric glycans.
