A Study on the decision of Scattering distance by Shape of Fragments in LPG Tank lorry Explosion (LPG 탱크로리 폭발시 파편 형상에 따른 비산거리 산정에 관한 연구)

  • LPG is a substance that requires a lot of attention because it can cause fatal damage to people and environment when an accident occurs. LPG is frequently accidents in transportation facilities as well as fixed facilities, among which LPG tank lorries are the most frequent accidents. When the LPG tank is evacuated, the LP gas leaks into two phases, leaks mostly to the gas and leaks to some liquid. At this time, the leaked gas will also sink downward because it is heavier than air, and if it continues to leak, it may form an explosion and explode by the ignition source. The purpose of this study is to present the evacuation distance by analyzing the effect distance of the LPG liquefied petroleum gas in the event of explosion. As a result of calculation of the scattering radius of the fragment, the cylinder fragment was scattered up to 561 m. Therefore, it is appropriate to set the distance to be escaped when the LPG tanker leaks to 561m or more.

  • The system used in the laboratory of chemistry and medical is management only by measuring the temperature inside the reagent management within and recording in handwriting. When you hold the reagent, it can not recognize in real time the problems that occur in the interior, an accident occurs. you can not find a use record reagent storage, a problem with the management of an efficient reagent can be generated. In this paper, we propose a reagent management system that leverages the embedded boards and sensors in the laboratory reagents effectively manage to resolve it. As a result, Converting the information of the reagent to the data using the NFC, the administrator can identify the reagent user to register and manage hazardous reagents. Converted by using the NFC information of the reagent to the data, the administrator can identify the reagent user to register and manage hazardous reagents, temperature, humidity, so that it can be controlled by utilizing the VOC sensor to. Also it is passes the message to the administrator in the event of a particular risk situation. This is believed to enable the effective administration in a laboratory reagent.

  • Vehicle engineering analysis in the event of an accident caused by a car built on mechanical design has not been investigated in-depth but relies on the subjective experience knowledge of the investigator. This study analyzed the correlation between the speed, progress, steering, and braking before impact, which is consistent with the final stop position, by drawing a site situation chart using the CAD (CAD) program and repeating 250 crashes using the PC-Crash program. The following situations were investigated: lower impact velocity; greater impact speed of the vehicle, which is not affected significantly by the departure angle; higher vehicle speed, such as the effective impact velocity, after the impact; higher vehicle speed; and lower vehicle speed.   • Structures, systems and components of nuclear power plants should be able to maintain safety even in the event of design-basis accidents such as high-energy line breaks. The high-pressure steam jet ejected from the broken pipe may cause damage to the adjacent structures. The ANSI/ANS 58.2 code has been adopted as a technical standard for evaluating the jet impingement load. Recently, the U.S. NRC pointed out the non-conservativeness of the ANSI/ANS 58.2, because it does not take into account the blast wave effect, dynamic behavior of the jet, and oversimplifies the shape and load characteristics of the supersonic steam jet. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the evaluation method for the high-energy line break accident. In order to evaluate the behavior of supersonic steam jet, an appropriate numerical analysis technique considering compressible flow effect is needed. In this study, numerical analysis methodology for evaluating supersonic jet impingement load was developed and verified. In addition, the conservativeness of the ANSI/ANS 58.2 model was investigated using the numerical analysis methodology. It is estimated that the ANSI jet model does not sufficiently reflect the physical behavior of under-expanded supersonic steam jet and evaluates the jet impingement load lower than CFD analysis result at certain positions.

  • Facts, which constitute news, are as free as air. When they are transformed into news via labor and capital investment of a news organization, the news is deemed to have property values, and the media can claim exclusive rights over the news. The copyright law protects the originality of a work, the uniqueness of reporter's analysis, the selection of words, the arrangement of materials, and the emphasis given on particular points. The name of the game of copyright infringement lies in the infringement of the similarity of the method of expression, not the infringement of the subject. Even though news articles convey information by specifying factual elements of an event or accident, they still have some originality. The judgement that news articles lack of originality is inconsistent with the purpose of the copyright law. Therefore, the law should be amended to articulate that the unauthorized use of news articles without a proper citation shall be the subject of legal action, and courts should decide related cases accordingly.

  • This paper consists largely of two parts: the first part introduces the revised railway human reliability analysis (R-HRA) method which is to be used under the railway risk assessment framework, and the second part presents the features of a computer software which was developed for aiding the R-HRA process. The revised R-HRA method supplements the original R-HRA method by providing a specific task analysis guideline and a classification of performance shaping factors (PSFs) to support a consistent analysis between analysts. The R-HRA software aids the analysts in gathering information for HRA, qualitative error prediction including identification of external error modes and internal error modes, quantification of human error probability, and reporting the overall analysis results. The revised R-HRA method and software are expected to support the analysts in an effective and efficient way in analysing human error potential in railway event or accident scenarios.

An Evaluation of Structural Integrity and Crashworthiness of Automatic Guideway Transit(AGT) Vehicle made of Sandwich Composites (샌드위치 복합재 적용 자동무인경전철 차체 구조물의 구조 안전성 및 충돌 특성 평가 연구)

  • This paper describes the results of structural integrity and crashworthiness of Automatic Guideway Transit(AGT) vehicle made of sandwich composites. The applied sandwich composite of vehicle structure was composed of aluminum honeycomb core and WR580/NF4000 glass fabric/epoxy laminate composite facesheet. Material testing was conducted to determine the input parameters for the composite facesheet model, and the effective equivalent damage model fer the orthotropic honeycomb core material. The finite element analysis using ANSYS v11.0 was dont to evaluate structural integrity of AGT vehicle according to JIS E 7105 and ASCE 21-98. Crashworthiness analysis was carried out using explicit finite element code LS-DYNA3D with the lapse of time. The crash condition was frontal accident with speed of 10km/h at rigid wall. The results showed that the structural integrity and crashworthiness of AGT vehicle were proven under the specified loading and crash conditions. Also, the modified Chang-Chang failure criterion was recommended to evaluate the failure modes of composite structures after crashworthiness event.

  • In the event of a fire in a complex, the identification of isolated people's location information is delayed, resulting in many casualties. In order to prevent such an accident, research on estimating the location of the requesters by detecting the wireless signal of the mobile phone at fire sites is in progress. The main concept is to use a wireless signal scanner to detect the wireless signal of a mobile phones at fire sites, and then position the mobile phone based on this. However, it is difficult to secure visibility at the fire site due to the smoke, and there is a difficulty in rescuing requesters in need compared with general disaster sites. Therefore, it will be one of the important issues to be solved to determine the minimum number of rescuers to be deployed according to the number and condition of the requesters. In this study, we propose a method to calculate the number of rescuers put to fire sites by using the radio signal generated from mobile phones and the information generated from the inertial sensor of the mobile phones.

  • As an alternative to environmental pollution generated from fossil fuels currently in use, research is being actively conducted to use hydrogen that does not cause air pollution. As fire and explosion accidents caused by hydrogen leakage have occurred until recently, research on safety is needed to commercialize hydrogen on ships, which are special environments. In this study, a seasonal alternative scenario for each season and the worst scenario were assumed in the event of a leakage accident while a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion ship equipped with a hydrogen storage tank was navigating at JangSaengPo port in Ulsan. In order to consider environmental variables, the damage impact range was derived through ALOHA and probit analysis based on the annual average weather data for 2021 by the Korea Meteorological Administration and on geographic information data from the National Statistical Office. Radiation showed a wider damage range than that of Overpressure and Flame in both the alternative and worst-case scenarios, and as a result of probit analysis, a fatality rate of 99% was confirmed in all areas.

  • Due to the development of industry and improvement of living standards, the amount of natural gas used in the world is constantly increasing, and related industrial facilities such as power plants, storage facilities, and supply pipelines are constantly increasing. Natural gas is a convenient and clean fuel that does not pollute the environment, but in the event of an accident due to leakage, it can cause human casualties, large-scale property damage, and negative effects on the global warming effect. In addition to the severe penalties under the Severe Disaster Punishment Act, it is necessary to ensure safety. Therefore, by applying the principle of laser-based absorption spectroscopy, we developed a long-range portable methane leakage gas detection system that can detect the concentration of methane leaking from a distance of up to 30 meters and verified its effectiveness.
