  • Current mathematics of CSAT(College Scholastic Ability Test) faces time to prepare examination questions according to the new curriculum making this year the last. MEST(Minister of Education, Science and Technology) already decided the range of examination in 2008. However, the discuss about how to construct the questions and what form of questions should be set was not conducted enough. Mathematics items of CSAT will have to undergo changes both in 2012 and 2014. Also, reconstruction of the examination questions for the past 16 years and the exploration of the new direction are strongly required. To accord with these requirements, this study analyze Japan's college entrance exam, NCTUA(National Center Test for University Admissions) which is the most similar to our exams. And then on the basis of this, the applicable implication to set mathematics questions in 2012 and 2014 CSAT will be deducted.

  • Recently, CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) technology has been widely applied to various area such as video conference, file transfer, voice mail, automatic message transfer and automatic redial, integrated messaging and network fax. In this paper, an administrative affairs supporting system using call control mode of CTI is designed. To improve inefficient processing of job due to heavy calling from entrance candidates during entrance examination of a college, the system is developed. The database of the system is desigend using object modeling technique. Also, the automatic calling and response system using CTI call control mode is implemented. • The purpose of this study is to explore university entrance system with particular regard to the interview system of some leading universities. In order to accomplish this end, I sketched university entrance system as a whole, applying procedures and entrance requirements, selecting criteria, and explore interview systems of leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL and Imperial College. The university entrance system in the UK is closely related to the educational achievements at secondary schools and sixth form colleges. Admissions tutors look at applicant's academic ability and potential through various entrance requirements. Leading universities such as Oxbridge stress performance at interview with excellent examination grades, due to competition for places is strong. Admissions tutors are looking for the students who are best suited to the unique university education in general and the course applied for. The university entrance system in the UK would be shed light on Korea university entrance system in terms of basic principles and interviews as a whole and of addressing the academic ability and potential to flourish at the university.

  • To investigate the relationship between the College Entrance Examination (CEE) exams and high school teaching-learning, we conducted a questionnaire survey and collected 2439 valid questionnaires with 16000 teachers involved. This paper discusses the topic with data gathered from the survey, and statistics on CEE examinations over the past few years. The following three questions will be addressed in detail: 1. As a talent selection test for colleges, can the CEE exams single out the elite students in high school? 2. Should the testing objectives of the CEE exams match the teaching objectives in high school so as to have a positive backwash effect on high school teaching and learning? 3. How do teachers assess the CEE exams from the angles of test structure, the functions of individual item types, reforms on test difficulties, and its actual checking effects?

  • As a number of new college students is gradually decreasing, each college is trying to find various solutions for gathering many students and operating a school. In specialty, information such as entrance examination and matriculation status data is very important for a college to decide a direction of admission and public relations policy, and increase welfare of the school. Therefore, it is seriously needed for a school to introduce a matriculation management system that can do the effective analysis through various entrance examination and matriculation status data and decision factors of school. In this study, I developed a matriculation management system which can analyze information of applicants, successful candidates and registrants based on national framework data. It is expected that the developed system can provide appropriate and rational information for public relations policy and operation to a college.
