$NH_3$와 R22를 사용한 냉동장치의 성능특성 비교 (The Comparison of Performance Characteristics in Refrigeration System using $NH_3$ and R22)

  • Recently, production and use of Freon substances are restrained due to destruction of ozone layer and grobal warming. In this aspect of environmental problems, the best solution is to use the natural refrigerant such as ammonia. Thus, this study apply the $NH_3$ and R22 to study the performance characteristic from the superheat control and compare the energy efficiency of two refrigerants from the high performance. The condensing pressure of refrigeration system is increased from 1,500 kPa to 1,600 kPa and degree of superheat is increased from 0 to $10^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure. As the result of experiment, when comparing the each COP, we knew the $NH_3$ is suitable as the alternative refrigerant of the R22.

  • Recently, production and use of freon substances are restrained due to depletion of ozone layer and global warming. In this aspect of environmental problems, the best solution is to use the natural refrigerant such as ammonia. Thus, this study is to find the optimal operating conditions by comparing the performance between the shell and tube type and shell and disk type heat exchangers using the ammonia refrigerant, and to verify the superiority of the shell and disk type heat exchanger that is not used in field of refrigeration and air conditioning. Finally, this study shows that the shell and disk type heat exchanger is applicable to the ammonia refrigeration system, and this system minimizes the refrigerant charge and installation space.

벽면충돌분무에 관한 수치해석 (A Study of Numerical Analysis on Wall Impinging Spray)

  • Phenomenon of droplet impingement with high temperature wall needs to be investigated because atomization process of droplet and cooling process of the wall by the impingement are very important in industry, thus studies concerned with temperature of piston wall have been conducted in spray characteristics analysis of diesel engine. Hence, in this study, we defined $DT_{sat}(=T_w-T_{sat})$ superheat degree of the wall by difference between $T_w$ considering surface temperature of piston in the actual engine and $T_{sat}$ saturation temperature of the fuel and then investigated spray behavior of wall impinging with variance of the boiling process. In this study, in order to analyze wall impingement of droplet in accordance with difference of boiling condition, calculational conditions were set as $DT_{sat}=40K$(nucleate boiling), $DT_{sat}=140K$(transition boiling), and $DT_{sat}=240K$(film boiling). As a result, it can be found that fuel vapor increases and droplet mass decreases in the order of the nucleate boiling, transition boiling, and film boiling.

휜 형상에 따른 증발기의 전열 성능 (Effects of Fin Configuration on the Evaporator Performance)

  • An experimental investigation was made to study the performance characteristics of evaporator having different fin configurations and tube inner grooves. Three different types of fin such as super slitted fin, slitted fin, plain fin, and two types of tube such as inner grooved tube, and bare tube, are tested varying the air velocity, evaporation temperature and superheat of refrigerant. Results show that in the range of air side Reynolds number $3{\times}10^3\;-\;1.5{\times}10^4$ evaporator with super slitted fin and inner grooved tube shows best performance. It is 80% higher in overall heat transfer coefficient and 2.6 times higher in pressure loss compared to that with plain fin inner grooved tube. Friction factor is found to be almost independent of evaporating temperature and degree of superheat, while Colburn j factor varies with evaporating temperature.

비등을 수반하는 발열면에 충돌하는 수분류의 임계열유속에 관한 연구 (Critical Heat Flux of an Impinging Water Jet on a Heated Surface with Boiling)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate a critical heat flux(CHF) during forced convective subcooled and saturated boiling in free water jet system impinged on a rectangular heated surface. The surface is supplied with subcooled or saturated water through a rectangular jet. Experimental parameters studied are a width of heated surface, a height of supplementary water and a degree of subcooling. Incipient boiling point is observed in the temperature of 6${\~}8^{\circ}C$ of superheat of test specimen. CHF depends on jet velocity for various boiling-involved coolant system. CHF also is proportional to the nozzle exit velocity to the power of n, where n is 0.55 and 0.8 for subcooled and saturated boiling, respectively. CHF is enhanced with a higher jet velocity, higher degree of subcooling and smaller width of a heated surface.

자동차 공조용 응축기의 열전달특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical study on the heat transfer characteristics of the condenser for the car air-conditioners)

  • This paper contains a verification of simulation program to predict the capacity of a condenser used in car air-conditioners. Verification of simulation program is carried out with the comparison error between experiment and simulation bounds within 3.5%. The present investigation shows the results for heat transfer rates of condenser under different operating conditions, such as velocity and degree of superheat. The range of front velocity of air is 1∼5m/s. As the front velocity is increased, the heat transfer rate of condenser is largely increased at a low velocity range. In a meanwhile, heat transfer rate of condenser is almost constant in a range of velocity over 3m/s. As for the effect of inlet pressure of refrigerant on the heat transfer rate, we obtained the similar trend of heat transfer rates as like varying the front velocity, Also we have calculated the heat transfer rates with varying inlet superheats of refrigerant, the larger the superheat is, the more heat transfer rate is obtained.

Effects on Refrigerant Maldistribution on the Performance of Evaporator

  • An experimental investigation was made to study two-phase flow distribution in a T-type distributor of slit fin-and-tube heat exchanger using R-22. Experiments were carried out under the conditions of saturation temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ and mass flow rate varying from 0.6 to 1.2kg/min. The inlet air has dry bulb temperature of $27^{\circ}C$, relative humidity of 50% and air velocity varying from 0.63 to 1.71m/s. A comparison was made between the predictions from the previously proposed tube-by-tube method and the present experimental data for the heat transfer rate of evaporator. Results show that $82.5\%$ increase of air velocity is needed for T-type distributor with four outlet branches than that of two outlet branches under the superheat of $5^{\circ}C$, which resulted in increasing of air-side pressure drop of $130\%$ for the former as compared to the latter.

  • This experimental study presents the results of the cooling performance test of a $CO_2$ heat pump system for fuel cell vehicles. The experimental facility provides the cool ing and heating environment for cabin and heat releasing component. The test loop is designed to target the cooling capacity of 5kW and its coefficient of performance (COP) of 2.2. The cooling performance of the heat pump system is strongly dependent on the refrigerant charge and the degree of superheat. We carried out basic experiments to obtain optimum refrigerant charge and the degree of superheat level at the internal heat exchanger outlet. The heat pump system for fuel cell vehicles is different from that of engine-driven vehicles, where the former has an electricity-driven compressor and the latter has the belt-driven (engine-driven) compressor. In the fuel cell vehicle, the compressor speed is an independent operating parameter and it is controlled to meet the cooling/heating loads. Experiments were carried out at cooling mode with respect to the compressor speed and the incoming outdoor air speed. The results obtained in this study can provide the fundamental cool ing performance data using the $CO_2$ heat pump system for fuel cell vehicles.

비선형회귀모델을 이용한 히트펌프시스템의 열교환기 고장에 대한 고장감지 및 진단에 대한 연구 (Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) Using Nonlinear Regression Models for Heat Exchanger Faults in Heat Pump System)

  • 본 연구에서는 비선형회귀모델을 이용한 히트펌프시스템에서의 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 히트펌프시스템에 발생할 수 있는 다양한 고장요소 중, 열교환기 고장에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 해석 식을 바탕으로 제작한 모델을 이용하여 총 4가지 작동 모드(무고장, 증발기 고장, 응축기 고장, 응축기와 증발기 고장)에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘을 개발하기 위해 무고장모드에서의 데이터를 바탕으로 각 열교환기의 과열도 또는 과냉도를 예측할 수 있는 비선형회귀모델을 제시하였다. 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘은 이 비선형회귀모델을 바탕으로 예측한 열교환기에서의 과열도 또는 과냉도 값과 시뮬레이션 값을 비교하여 그 차이의 정도에 따라 각 열교환기의 고장을 감지 및 진단하도록 하였다.

평판핀이 부착된 증발기의 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Plate Finned-Tubes Evaporator)

  • Development of a more satisfactory program of computing the performance on a multi-tube evaporator with continuous plate fins is attempted in this study. The fluid flow involving a change of phase make the flow properties and fluid friction factor of refrigerants, the heat transfer coefficients of refrigerant and air sides vary significantly. Taking such variations into account, a useful program is developed to predict the steady state performance of a multi-tube evaporator. The program was applied to an evaporator which has outside diameter of 10.05mm, inside diameter of 9.35mm, length of 5.4m and two rows arraied staggered. Then the variations of refrigerant quality, temperature, pressure, velocity, enthalpy, specific volume and air temperature, tube temperature were discussed. Satisfactory results were presented that the degree of superheat at the outlet side was $4.4^{\circ}C$ and the air temperature drop between the inlet and outlet of the air conditioner was $10^{\circ}C$.
