A Study on the Red Carpet Dress of Film Festivals in the Great China Region

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the basic materials necessary for red carpet fashion design by examining the formativeness and fashion images of red carpet dresses at film festivals in the Great China Region. For the purpose of this study, research methods include a literature review on the origin and significance of red carpet dresses, the characteristics of film festivals in the Great China Region and their red carpet dresses as well as an analysis of the formative features and images of 615 red carpet dresses collected from each film festival official homepage, diverse media articles, and online search sites (www.google.com, www.hao123.com). The research finding can be summarized as follows: First, the formative features of red carpet dress designs were analyzed herein. It was found that the most frequently appearing type of silhouette was straight followed by hourglass and bulk in order. More specifically these included fit and flare, mermaid, trapeze, and slim in order. For the neckline styles, strapless was the most frequently seen followed by camisole, jewel, and one shoulder. Solid colors were more often seen than multiple colors. Bk, W, R, and YR were the most frequent main solid colors in order. Solid materials were frequent as well, such as soft and shiny materials. Non-patterned and unadorned styles were most frequent as for pattern types and details and trimmings. Second, the fashion images of red carpet dresses in the Great China Region were analyzed. The most frequent images were elegant, feminine, ethnic, modern, classic, avant-garde, others, mannish and sportive, in order.

  • 애니메이션은 계몽 형태의 대중예술로서 다양한 연령대에게 쉽게 다가가 그들이 외면하는 사회문제를 재고찰하게 한다. 따라서 본 논문은 애니메이션 <윌러비 가족>의 캐릭터 설정과 조형의 상징성이 사회 의제의 인식 제고 방안으로써 작용하는지 분석했다. 현대의 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있는 아동학대와 가족 형태의 수용 필요성에 대한 실태를 파악했으며, 애니메이션의 색채와 조형성은 관객의 심리적 감동과 변화를 유도한다는 선행 연구를 살펴봤다. 작품은 아동학대 유형 중 정서적 학대와 방임을 캐릭터로 보여주며, 가족의 형태를 세분화했다. 조화로운 색채의 무지개는 다양한 가족 구성원을 상징했으며, 각진 형태와 차가운 푸른색의 조형적 특징으로 이루어진 고아국 요원은 무관심한 이웃과 함께 현대의 원칙주의적인 2차 가해자로 표현하여 관객의 인식변화를 촉구한다. 본 논문은 복지사회 건설과 지원체계에 앞서 국민적 인식 제고가 필수인 시점에 사회 의제를 작품으로 표현하여 관객의 문제 인식을 깨우칠 수 있는 애니메이션의 가치를 제시하고 있다.

현대 패션에 나타난 캘리그라피의 표현유형 및 의의 (The Types of Expression and Meanings of Calligraphy Appearing in Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the types and meanings of calligraphy presented in modern fashion design. Calligraphy refers to beautiful handwriting or fine penmanship in the West, and handwriting with brushstrokes in the East. The expression patterns being used at present can be divided into three categories. Legible calligraphy is focused on readability more than embellishment. Decorative calligraphy places its importance on decoration at the expense of practicality. The third type, harmonious calligraphy, pursues decorativeness and legibility at the same time. Each of these types of calligraphy is expressed in modern fashion with its own purpose: calligraphy for conveying emotional messages, calligraphy as a special brand image, and calligraphy as an expression of formativeness. The first, calligraphy for conveying emotional messages, is used with characters that are familiar to the public. Calligraphy of this type delivers messages confined emotionally to the conscious world, harmonizing calligraphy with words, or expressing readability filled with purity and delight. Second, calligraphy as a special brand image refers to transmitting a distinctive brand image from other companies through employment of a design motive or pattern by expressing the brand logos or names of designers. Third, calligraphy as a expression of formativeness has the function of shaping expressions as motives or patterns, avoiding meanings of words or phrases. It can be represented by the abbreviation or modification of words, or arranging words in different shapes, harmonizing the words with the clothing construction and atmosphere of the other images.

  • Architecture and Fashion mutually affects the shape and appearance of the other as an art of space according to the hybrid trends. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find the correlations between the characteristics of traditional architecture types in Southeast Asia and modern fashion. Firstly, characteristics of the types obtained through the theoretical consideration of Southeast Asian architectural tradition include vertical, symmetrical, geometrical, epeated and continual structure. On the basis of these characteristics analyzed from 2013's S/S to 2015's F/W collection of Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh, Victor & Rolf, designers with strong creative and experimental minds who juxtaposed designs of two opposing points as well as hybrids since 2000, the following formativeness exists. First, the vertical structure of high floor is represented as a straight silhouette, a color contrast, vertical cut or wrinkle. Hence, it impresses verticality, rhythm, etc. Second, symmetrical structure of the gable roof is represented as a trapezoidal shape starting from the shoulder line or neck line widened into sleeves, impressing symmetry, dynamism, etc. Third, the geometry of the assembled is represented as vertical and horizontal bands or pattern pieces like puzzle, impressing geometry, three-dimensional, etc. Fourth, repeated structure of the weaving pattern is represented as repetitive patterns of woven fabric or printing techniques. Thus, it impresses repeatability, harmony, etc. And lastly, continuous group structure is represented as a connection of collars or hem-lines, as well as a crossing of fabric that impresses continuity, liquidity, etc.

키스 해링 작품의 만화적 요소를 응용한 펑키 팝 패션디자인 연구 (Punky Pop Fashion Design Based on the Cartoon Images in Keith Haring's Works)

  • Keith Haring is an artist from the 1980s who was highly influenced by the pop art of the 1960s, sublimating the '60s pop art into high art using cartoon images. His work contained social messages via the aesthetics of pop art. This satire seems to be intertwined with the punk style of the 1970s, as well. In this context, this thesis has developed a new "Punky-Pop Look" by integrating the art work of Keith Haring, which has both artistic value and popularity, with punk, which is a funky culture with the aim of creating something new. The purpose of this research is not directly borrow from Keith Haring's work, but to develop and apply a new fashion motif having its own unique story based on his cartoon style formativeness and creative ideas in order to further design the punky-pop look in the trend of "Hybrid Fashion." This thesis can establish a good precedent for applying the cartoon style formativeness of Keith Haring to the development of a fashion motif having its own unique story, and suggest punky-pop fashion design. Based on this thesis, new creative motifs can be generated continuously, not by simply borrowing but by developing existing art work.

현대 패션에 표현된 무속의 조형성 연구 (A Study on the Formativeness of Shamanism Expressed in Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how formativeness of shamanism has expressed and developed in modern fashion. Formative expression of shamanism in modern fashion has expressed in the way of on style, color, material and pattern as follows; Style has made animal and human incorporated by expressing abstract animal on the part or whole of costume and it has reconstructed traditional shaman costume into modern costume. Skin colors of living bodies which exist in nature, such as black, blown, yellow and grey, were used to symbolize spirit and low brightness of colors such as blue, white and black were also used to symbolize hyperspace. Artificial materials which imitate animal figure and genuine materials from animal were used. Various natural materials used in traditional shaman costume were also used. Animal patterns and abstract patterns symbolizing the celestial heaven and lower world, and patterns shown on wall painting and rock painting has appeared. The meaning of shamanism in modern fashion can be identified as interchangeable movement of time and space, a cosmic outlook on the world and ration. Spiritually designed costume has made fashion move to hyperspace in spirit trip. Modern fashion with shamanism has expressed its cosmic outlook on the world or universal wish beyond human's real world by patterns such as bird figure which means the celestial heaven and lower world. Corporation and transition of human and animal were symbolized as shaman hypernatural intercourse with designs expressed in costume using a part of animal or animal's characteristics.

3D프린팅 파라메트릭 패션제품 사례분석연구 (Case Analysis Study on 3D printed parametric Fashion Products)

  • 본 연구는 파라메트릭 디자인 기반의 3D프린팅 패션제품이 늘어나고 있는 가운데, 3D프린팅 파라메트릭 패션제품의 조형성을 탐구하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구방법으로, 이론적 고찰을 실시하고 3D프린팅 파라메트릭 패션제품의 조형성을 도출한뒤, 3D프린팅 파라메트릭 패션제품의 사례를 수집하여 의류, 신발, 악세사리 총 3가지 유형으로 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 형태적으로는 자연물을 모티브로한 형태를 확인할 수 있었고, 구조적으로는 경제적인 최적구조와 어셈블리구조, 자연물 구조를 확인하였으며 소재의 경우는 복잡형상 구현을 위한 정밀소재를, 색채의 경우는 단색, 무채색 계열과 자연색조합을 사용한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제시한 3D프린팅 파라메트릭 패션제품의 조형성에 대한 이해를 통해 파라메트릭 기반 패션제품의 확산과 조형적 흐름을 이해하는데 기초자료로 사용되기를 기대한다.

저고리 원형제도의 비교고찰 (The Comparative Consideration on the Basic pattern of Geo-go-ri)

  • We consider the irrational part of the basic pattern drafting of the Geo-Ko-ri so that we want to design it more scientically. So there are problems which is found after we considered with comparison about the existingly basic pattern drafting of Geo-go-ri. (1) there is a difference between the practical and Calculation. (2) The part of the curved line was mad indistinctly There is a difference betweence the calculating expression and calculating value. (4) There are some parts which lack objectivity about the reference size. (5) The calculating method of Collar-width and Neck-Nidth are not formative and rational. These are items that we must consider and study further. Especially if we can make up of the scientific form in consideration of the formativeness focused on "git" I think it will make a great contribution to not only the standardization of the basic pattern of Geo-go-ri and the use of the use of education but also the manufacture of individual clothing the production by Auto CAD.   • The purpose of this study is to have a new understanding of the freewheeling beauty inhering in the Korean western costumes, traditionally the freewheeling beauty has been the root of Korean beauty expressed in the Korean feeling. First, the theoritical inquiry for this study was processed to understand formativeness of the Korean popular arts, folk painting, pottery, pansori(dramatic song), masked dance. The results of the theoritical analysis were as follows; the korean beauty inherited in the Korean popular arts, was represented plastic words as good-humor, unsophisticated, homely, plainness, simplicity, artless, unartificial, crudely etc, the freewheeling beauty implied the beauty of good-humor, the beauty of naivety. In conclusion, the creative Korean beauty reflected in the western costumes by Korean designers was derived from freewheeling characteristics of Korean feeling. After this study, I came to conclusion that it‘s very important to recover, reperceive, revaluate the inner meanings inherited Korean western costumes.

  • Metal materials have been used in the clothing design on the spirit of ingenious experiment by fashion designers, and they have been put to practical use by several designers who work out a scheme of popular fashion merchandise. This current starting from the 1960s was weakened in the 1980s, but it was appeared with various shapes of metal materials in the 1990s due to a popularity of techno/cyber fashion. Recently, textile engineering technology causes to develop new-materials which are practical and sanitary. The development of fashionable metal materials brings about the popularization of fashion with metal materials, and it induces that mainstream of modem fashion has been changed into designers of pursuing the spirit of ingenious experiment. This study examines the formative characteristics of metal materials that are based on the spirit of ingenious experiment. As a result, it is evaluated that the formative of metal materials shown in modern fashion is futurism, visual concentration, avast-garde, resistance, precious.
