The study reviews the digital library thoughts of Kim Jung-gun's and their fellows to discover the developmental aspects of digital library in Korea. And I present the challenges facing digital library's development and research. Discussed are important requisites and digital library framework, and so on. In addition, included are suggestions for establishment of digital librarianship as a foundation o( research and development of digital library.

The goal of this study is to suggest the models for establishing and operating the collaborative repository for academic libraries by region in Korea. For this purpose, author analyzed the status of academic libraries by provinces and types, the collection space shortage of academic libraries, location and evaluation criteria of collaborative repository. And based on these analysis results, author proposed the basic principles, key functions and practices to accomplish, architectural scales of the collaborative repositories, transfer criteria and ownership model of library collection, desirable management and operation unit of the collaborative repository.

The Saemaul Mini-Library system had to start as a purely voluntary grass-roots movement without a tax su n.0, pport. In other words, it had to depend on voluntary contributions in time and labor by the reading club members for its finance and daily maintenance and operation. The purpose of the study is to analyse the actual condition of a Saemaul Mini-Library, which is established in a rural and a fishing village. To meet this purpose, I will survey the function and the meaning of a Saemaul Mini-Library and the main tendency of it-now did it start and how did it develop and I will analyse the general condition of structural factors (establishment, materials, reading club) in a Saemaul Mini-Library.

From all nations the disabled person experiences many difficulties from the process which obtain informations and use libraries. So the advanced nations is concentrating on establishment of the information gap solution policy for the disabled person. Based on these situations, this research analyzed the national library service policies for the disabled person in the United States and the United Kingdom and Japan, and proposed desirable position and operation plans of the disabled person library support center of the National Library of Korea.

This study focused on library services for patients and carers and conducted an awareness survey on the current status of library services for patients and carers in hospitals in Korea and on future library services for patients and carers. Through this, the ways to activate library services for patients and carers in the hospital were sought. Based on the results of the study, the research team proposes the following measures: First, the legislation for the mandatory establishment of libraries in hospitals and standards for the size, book collection, and manpower of libraries in hospitals should be enacted. Second, cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare is essential to lay the foundation for the mandatory and voluntary establishment of hospital libraries at the national level in the future. Third, the operation of regional representative libraries, public libraries, and other institutions should be considered.

This study is a basic study to establish a comprehensive plan for operating the Hanam Library, a regional base library that will be built in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City. We investigated opinions about the collection, library program, role and task of a regional base library and the operation of the cooperative shared storage. As a result of the study, the information resources that users prefer are a book form of the literary subject, and preferred library services are the use of information resources and participation in cultural events. Public library librarians answered conducting user-centered services and carrying out a cooperative projects between libraries are important and they recognized cooperative acquisition as a task should be performed first. In addition, opinions about the operation of cooperative shared storage is generally positive. The regional base library managers said that it is important to establish library governance by clarifying the status and role of the library and that as a public library, and to promote information services and cooperation projects for local users. The results of this study can be expected to be the useful basic material for the establishment of the Hanam Library comprehensive operation plan.

This study was a basic study for the establishment of basic policies for the operation of Sejong City Library. It was intended to establish and operate the functions and roles of Sejong City Library by conducting a general survey on the current status, user demand, expert opinion, and librarian opinion survey. As a result, the Sejong City Library is the representative library of Sejong Special Self-Governing City, which oversees all public and small libraries in Sejong Special Self-Governing City and carries out support and cooperation projects, and should improve the development of the local community and the quality of life of local residents by providing more convenient and equal access to provide information services and cultural programs. Second, apart from providing library services to local residents in Sejong Special Self-Governing City, the functions of the Sejong Special Self-Governing City's representative library and hub library, knowledge and information center, lifelong education center, social and cultural center, leisure culture center, leisure and convenience center, and furthermore, it should function as a policy information support center. Finally, in order to enhance the brand value of Sejong City Library, the Sejong City Library as a landmark in Sejong area, the Sejong City Library as an art and cultural hub in Sejong area, the Sejong City Library as a complex cultural space in Sejong area, and the Sejong City Library as a center for Sejong Studies were proposed.

These days, we face of the flood of books published, and data day by day. But there are some trouble to serve the knowlodge and date to the users efficently with a single library. Thats why we think about the way of the cooporation and the connection in modern library for the method of widening the service. As the result of the issue, the establishment for the relation of each library is needed to be done, and the composition of the public library network in same area and limit are also needed. Establishing the library network, the civil life will be much influenced by the service of a library. With the existing ways, library cant arrange data efficently by them selves, and the users are limited. But the library network collect the data with alloting the work to each portion, so it can be possible to gather the specipic data, and the cost caused by needless and overlapped data can be decreased remarkably. Furthermore, the location of the library can be closer than the existing one due to the less cost to maintain the library. As I explained, the convenience of using the library can make an effect on more people to use a library than before.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current state of reading culture in Gyeongsangnam-do and its infrastructure in order to develop a balanced reading culture in each of the 18 counties of Gyeongsangnam-do, and to come up with plans to promote reading culture in the libraries in the province. To this end, six measures were proposed to revitalize reading culture in Gyeongsangnam-do by reflecting and synthesizing the survey of reading culture infrastructure in Gyeongsangnam-do, the analysis of the reading status of residents of Gyeongsangnam-do, the analysis of the results of the reading culture promotion project in Gyeongsangnam-do Province and the collection of opinions from experts related to the promotion of reading culture in each field. The results of the study are as follows. ① Establishment of Gyeongnam Reading Culture Promotion Governance, ② Establishment of Gyeongnam Reading Culture Promotion Committee and preparation of basis for evaluation roles such as establishment and implementation of reading culture promotion, ③ Creation of specialized collections and preparation of reading culture programs by region, ④ Service between Gyeongnam Representative Library and Gyeongnam Office of Education Systematization of subject and role division, ⑤ Systematization of role division between Gyeongnam representative library and 18 city and county local government libraries, ⑥ Establishment of grounds for reading culture promotion policy of Gyeongnam and 18 city and county local governments, and establishment of cooperation support system based on related laws and regulations.

With accommodation of a population of many young people and families due to Hangang River New Town Housing Project and development of railway station spheres, a need is increasing to improve the quality of public libraries service for Gimpo citizens and to establish more libraries. This study thus analyzed the book lending data of Gimpo City libraries, and the city's libraries-related social media big data in an effort to forecast the users, and thus to propose four library service improvement measures. First, in terms of book gathering and book development policy plans, a proposal was made to expand good books for children and youth, and to expand general original-language books related to learning of English, and English books for children. Second, in terms of the establishment of additional libraries or specialization strategy, a proposal was made to establish exclusive children's libraries or English libraries, and to establish library specialization strategy with a focus on children and English themes. Third, in terms of library culture programs, a proposal was made to provide library culture programs in relation to children education and to expand weekend library culture programs. Fourth, in terms of library facilities, considering the convenience of parking facilities, a proposal was made to establish libraries near apartment complexes.
