This study aims to make the establishment of public libraries that can provide the best use and services in the construction of new towns in the future. The study aimed what problems there were related to the establishment of public libraries during the construction of P new town. For carrying out the study, literature review, field study, and interview methods were used. The study reveals the following problems. First, there was no plan to build a public library in the early stages of the construction P new town development plan. Second, in the establishment of a public library, there was discrimination among the three new towns. Third, the number of public library is insufficient. Fourth, the size of the public library is not sufficient. Fifth, the location of the public library is insufficient.

This paper is intended to analyze and investigate the versity libraries in Korea. Nineteen national col-present status of four-year national college and unileges and universities based on a number of faculty member, enrollment, department, library staff, volumes in library, academic journals, book budget and facilities of library, and so we have to improve and develop a kind of problems with which national college and university libraries are confronted as follows: 1) Establishment of a position for the INFORMATION SPECIALIST. 2) Reorganization of the organization of college and university library. 3) Securing a position for the EDUCATIONAL RESEARCHER. 4) Upgrading a part of temporary employees. 5) Securing a self-control of library's administration. 6) Revising rules for labor employees in library. 7) Revising a STANDARD STATEMENT FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF UNIVERSITY. The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to establishment and management for a library for old adults. Therefore, the library for old adults defined to the concept of providing a specialized service by providing the necessary material with an elderly user over 65 focus. And presenting the basic direction and specific direction, organizational plan, and ordinance on establishment and management of a library for older adults. In addition, after conducting a semi-structured interview based on a pre-prepared questionnaire targeting 30 elderly people aged 65 or older who had experiences using public libraries, the results were analyzed, and 20 responses indicated that the purpose of using the library was a way to participate in the program as an essential service for the elderly. 12 respondents stated that the purpose of using the library was possibly a necessity for such things as writing autobiographies and reflections of historical events. Lastly, investigating the operational cases of two public libraries that already utilize elderly learning and health information rooms, it was concluded that the operation of the elderly library also needs to reflect the regional differences and characteristics unique to older adults.

This study focuses on the identity establishment of library and information science. It suggests, as a way of establishing the identity, the necessity of promoting of business environment in library and information science. For this purpose, the study examines Korean cases that have damaged the identity, and analyzes why such damage has been done and how it affects the fostering of business environment in library and information. It also diagnoses the possibility of identity establishment such as, for example, professionalism of the librarian and creation of jobs through the fostering of business environment in library and information science.

In order to fortify a professional approach in the construction of libraries, this study investigates library establishment procedures and examines problems which are raised in them. In so doing, it points to the necessities of professional consideration and engagement in the library construction and underlines a role of central government to support the process. As a way of supporting library construction, it suggests a consulting system which can provide practical support to those who are involved in the library establishment process.

The library of elementary schools, which plays a role in the basic education to grow a responsible social member in an information society and to develop ability for collection, selection, summary, and utilization of various information, could be considered as new educational center. It should be changed to the establishment of informational education for preparing the information society in 21st century through the functional extension of the conventional library as reading and bookstand. Furthermore, it is necessary of trials that converts to the support system for interchange between establishment and student, for preparing educational system of teaching or studying, and for opening establishment to local communities in the future.

The goal of this study is to analyze the feasibility of establishment of the collaborative repository for public libraries in Korea. To that end, its feasibilities were analyzed from the sides of the relevant laws, national policy, library's recognition, and actual collection space. As a result, the feasibility of establishment of the collaborative repository was revealed by enough. Accordingly, based on the this basic research, there is a need to develop immediately the construction and operation model of the collaborative repository. And the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and metropolitan city and province must grant priority of cultural policy in the establishment of the collaborative repository.

It is impossible to obtain the growth of library and the information culture of high quality without the desirable policies. Korean libraries have been developed steadily through the efforts of the authorities concerned. libraries, the library and information science, and the library business area. For the growth of Korean library culture and knowledge information society in the 21st century, I suggest that we should set up new library policies: (1) establishment and effective administration of advisory organizations of library, (2) revision of "the library and reading promotion law" and other related laws, (3) establishment of an exclusive bureau for administration of library, and (4) continuous development of informatized library.d library.

After the establishment of the Korean Government in 1945, we were busy building up library collections, especially expanding the quantity of books. As a result, nowadays we witness the problem of limited space to keep the books. Space is one of the most important factors in the environment of library materials preservation. To solve this problem, we have to establish many levels of deposit library. The deposit library functions to preserve library materials. Preservation is defined as 'preservation', 'conservation' and 'restoration'. Deposit library was not for circulation that established in the Korea Dynasty, was succeeded by the branch libraries for Historical Deposit Libraries and branch library of Kanghwa magistracy of Kyujang-gak in the Chosun Dynasty. This study is to analyze the establishment, the activities and functions of the branch library of Kyujang-gak at Kanghwa Magistracy as a deposit library. Hence this study provides valuable information for future research of the history of deposit libraries in Korea.

A national library is a library specifically established and administrated by the government of a nation to serve as the repository of knowledge and information for that country. National libraries are generally a county's designated national repository, collecting literature Published in the country, in the language of the country, or about the country they represent. In case of advanced countries, national libraries have more than one branches at many different locations. Its system is called the distributed national library system. But the National Library of Korea maintains a centralized library system located in Seoul. This research which it tries to pay attention in this problem Point extracted a logical ground and suggested the mid-long term basic plan(S-shaved Branch Library Project) for a National Library of Korea to convert and reconstruct from centralized system to centralized-distributed system.
