  • There are three types of high fluidity concrete: powder based, VMA based, and combined. In the case of the powder based high fluidity concrete mixture, according to the textbook, increased viscosity due to the replaced fly ash can prevent segregation of coarse aggregate. On the other hand, decreased density of the powder due to the fly ash replacement can causes segregation but there is no report on this issue. Therefore, in this research, the segregation resistance and segregation evaluation method for powder based high fluid concrete mixture are evaluated. As a result, with increased replacing ration of supplementary materials, EIS value was decreased and apparently segregation resistance was increased. However, from the compressive strength evaluation depending on height of the cylindrical specimen, it was confirmed that the different of strength difference between top and bottom part of the specimen. Thus, following research regarding vertical segregation should be studied.

  • This study analyzed the difficulties and mathematical modeling knowledge improvement that an elementary school teacher experienced in modifying a mathematics textbook task to a mathematical modeling task. To this end, an elementary school teacher with 10 years of experience participated in teacher-researcher community's repeated discussions and modified the average task in the data and pattern domain of the 5th grade. The results are as followings. First, in the process of task modification, the teacher had difficulties in reflecting reality, setting the appropriate cognitive level of mathematical modeling tasks, and presenting detailed tasks according to the mathematical modeling process. Second, through repeated task modifications, the teacher was able to develop realistic tasks considering the mathematical content knowledge and students' cognitive level, set the cognitive level of the task by adjusting the complexity and openness of the task, and present detailed tasks through thought experiments on students' task-solving process, which shows that teachers' mathematical modeling knowledge, including the concept of mathematical modeling and the characteristics of the mathematical modeling task, has improved. The findings of this study suggest that, in terms of the mathematical modeling teacher education, it is necessary to provide teachers with opportunities to improve their mathematical modeling task development competency through textbook task modification rather than direct provision of mathematical modeling tasks, experience mathematical modeling theory and practice together, and participate in teacher-researcher communities.

The content of the study to achieve the purpose is as follows: First, design a smart education-based teaching and learning curriculum for food and nutrition education in Home Economics, focusing on 'healthy diet and meal plans' unit. Second, develop a smart textbook for food and nutrition education based on the teaching and learning curriculum, using a smart content authoring tool. Third, evaluate the effectiveness of the instruction after applying the curriculum in real classroom situations. The results of this study were as follows: First, teaching and learning plans and materials were developed for two units, 'issues regarding teenagers' diet' and 'implementation of a healthy and balanced diet', under 'teenagers' life'. The first unit, 'issues regarding teenagers' diet', dealt with topics such as teenagers' dietary behaviors, nutrition, and health. Learning objectives for this unit were to help students identify and evaluate their own dietary behaviors. The second unit, 'implementation of a healthy and balanced diet', encouraged students to diagnose problems with their diet and plan nutrient rich meals. The objectives for this unit were to help students implement a healthy and balanced diet by providing them with nutrition and dietary guidelines for Koreans, sample meal plans, and guidelines for developing healthy eating habits for teenagers. In order to develop a teaching and learning plans to achieve these objectives, teaching and learning materials including inquiry tasks, materials for group activities, multimedia, applications and various pop-up learning materials were developed. Second, a smart textbook using DocZoom, which was a smart content authoring tool was developed. The textbook dealt with issues regarding teenagers' diet and implementation of a healthy and balanced diet. Multimedia material used in the textbook come from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's food and nutrition education web sites and other sources. To develop student-oriented material, relevant video clips were added to the smart textbook to motivate students and enhance their interest in the course. Third, the outcome of this study indicated that the instruction using teaching and learning plans and learning materials with the smart textbook was effective for enhancing students' interest in Home Economics classes (t-value=-3.99, p<.001), creating enthusiasm for learning(t-value = -2.61, p<.05), encouraging self-directed and independent learning(t-value = -4.77, p<.001), and improving students' interest in food and nutrition courses(t-value = -3.83, p<.001). The students' evaluation of the instruction were as follows: the instruction using teaching and learning plans and learning materials with smart textbooks, instead of paper textbooks, helped them save time looking for learning materials; students evaluated that it was easier for them to see and understand video clips and charts. In addition, most students answered that instruction with smart textbooks were more fun and convenient, and they agreed that the courses enhanced their learning experience.

  • In this research, one common chapter, Problem Solving and Programming, in seven different types of high school informatics textbooks was analyzed in terms of the aspect of learners' explorations. These textbooks were newly developed based on the 2015 revised national curriculum. Romey's analysis was used to the textbooks along with four analytic elements: texts, data, activities, and evaluation. The study results showed that the textbooks can highly encourage learners' further explorations according to the four analytic elements reflected in the seven textbooks: one out of the six textbooks well designed for texts, three for data, six for activities, two for evaluation. In terms of Romey's involvement index points, six of the seven textbooks had low indexes of texts, ranging from 0.175 to 0.393. Data indexes were extremely low in four out of the seven textbooks, ranging from 0.058 to 0.226. Five out of the seven textbooks had very high indexes of evaluation in the broad range of 2 to 6.333 points. Furthermore, these newly designed textbooks can more greatly facilitate students' explorations than previously existing textbooks in three elements: texts, data, and activities. Evaluation indexes significantly increased in these new textbooks from 0.916 to 3.914, which had excessive points in terms of promoting students' explorations. Further methods to improve the textbook quality is proposed based on the results from this analysis.
