학교수학에서 기하 증명 텍스트의 분석 - 기능문법과 수사학을 중심으로 - (Analysis of geometric proof texts in school mathematics)

  • Practice of proof is considered in, the view of language and meta-mathematics, recognizing the role of proof that is the means of communication and development of mathematical understanding. Linguistic components in proof texts are symbol, verbal language and visual text, and contain the implicit knowledge in the meta-mathematics view. This study investigates the functions of linguistic elements according to Halliday's functional grammar and the rhetoric skills in proof texts in math textbook, teacher's note, and student's written text. We need to inquire into the aspects of language for mathematics learning process and the understanding and use of students' language.

문헌설화의 동화로의 재창작 방법 -삼국유사를 중심으로- (Re-creation method of literature tale to fairy tale)

  • This paper focuses on the re-creation method of historically valuable literatured tale, "Samguk Yusa" to fairy tale as well as the problems and way of improvement shown in its recreation process using five publication samples. In case of the fairy tale based on the tale having original text, the understanding and judgement about that text as well as the focusing and causality of the story are needed to the fairy tale author. Moreover, it needs clear title for the comparison and relationship with original text and also it requires the fitting arrangement of history and fiction to evoke the imagination of child. In addition, to rise more interest of child, the various literary expression showing beauty of language, selection and understanding of original tale, acquirement of formal beauty as a literature and binding of books should be considered effectively. Through the effort of problem solving and new writing approaches for tale re-creation, we will get more interesting and instructive fairy tale, "Samguk Yusa".

텍스트 데이터 시각화의 표현 재료와 접근 방식에 관한 고찰 (A Review on Expressive Materials and Approaches to Text Visualization)

  • 본 연구에서는 데이터 시각화 연구의 한 분야인 텍스트 시각화에 대하여 그 시각적 표현의 재료가 되는 텍스트 데이터의 종류 및 본질, 특성에 대하여 고찰하고, 다양한 텍스트 시각화의 사례 연구를 통해 텍스트 데이터의 시각화를 위한 표현적 접근 방식에 대하여 다각적으로 분석하였다. 텍스트 시각화 연구는 컴퓨터의 발달과 방대한 데이터의 공개, 그리고 시각화 툴의 범용화 등의 기류를 타고 급속도로 확산되고 있으며, 이에 따라 공학, 예술, 인문, 사회 등 학제 간 융합 연구를 통해 다양한 작품 또는 연구 성과물로서 창작되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 텍스트 데이터를 비롯한 데이터 시각화에 관한 이론적 고찰과 접근 방식에 대한 체계적 분석은 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 데이터는 이해와 해석의 대상이며, 가공 및 접근에 따라 무한한 정보와 가능성을 갖는다. 데이터의 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있는 현 시점에서 데이터의 이해와 해석에서 출발하는 텍스트 시각화라는 융합 학문적 연구 분야는 미래 인간 사회에서 데이터가 차지할 위상을 고려할 때, 보다 체계적인 연구와 이론적 축적을 필요로 한다.

Understanding Mobile e-Text Communication with the Framework of Orality and Literacy: Student Perception of Non-verbal Texts

  • The development of mobile devices and network technology is changing the ways in which people communicate with one another. Mobile text message has emerged as one of the most frequently used form of communication, which also gave rise to various non-verbal texts such as emoticons. Nonetheless, the use of text messages has largely been denied in education because text messages often involve colloquial and non-verbal texts considered inappropriate or grammatically incorrect by the teacher. In efforts to provide a theoretical framework to better understand mobile e-text communication, this research compared the practical usages of non-verbal texts in the mobile e-learning environment. The study developed three types of text messages according to the degree of using non-verbal texts and their phraseology as instructors' messages, which were then distributed to 259 students via mobile text messaging. The perceptions of students were analyzed using a semantic differential scale and a questionnaire. The results showed clear differences in students' perceptions of non-verbal text and traditional text, and that optimally designed non-verbal texts turned out to encourage the students' interaction the most out of the three types of text messages. Following the discussion of the results, an expanded theoretical framework beyond Ong's concepts of orality and literacy is also suggested to understand the evolution of mobile e-text communication in education.

텍스트 데이터의 특성에 따른 성경 시각화 사례 분석 -텍스트의 내용적, 구조적 특성 및 인용 정보를 중심으로- (Case Analysis of Bible Visualization based on Text Data Traits -Focused on Content, Structure, Quotation of Text-)

  • 텍스트 시각화는 시각적 표현의 재료가 되는 텍스트 자체에 대한 이해에서 시작한다. 임의의 텍스트 데이터를 시각화하기 위해서는 해당 텍스트의 특성에 대한 충분한 이해가 선행되어야하며, 이렇게 도출된 텍스트가 갖는 고유한 특성에 따라 시각화의 목적과 표현적 접근 방법이 결정될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 동일한 텍스트가 갖는 다양한 특성에 따라 도출된 대표적인 시각화 사례를 분석함으로써 텍스트 시각화에 대한 접근 방식에 대한 이론적 토대를 구축하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 동일 시각화의 대상 텍스트로서 전 세계적으로 가장 널리 알려져 있고, 그 디지털 데이터를 획득하기 용이하며 따라서 텍스트 시각화 사례가 다양하게 존재하는 '성경' 텍스트를 선정하여 사례 분석을 진행하였다. 사례 분석을 위한 기준으로서 텍스트가 갖는 고유한 특성-내용적, 구조적 특성 및 인용정보-를 도출하고, 각 기준에 부합하는 텍스트 시각화 사례들을 2-3가지 이상 선정하여 분석에 대한 타당성을 높였다. 분석결과 성경 텍스트가 갖는 독특한 특성에 따라 시각화의 목표와 표현적 접근법이 결정됨을 파악할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 토대로 향후 더욱 다양한 관점의 사례 분석을 통하여 텍스트 시각화를 위한 재료 선택 및 접근 방법에 대한 이론적 방법론 구축이 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

Machine Learning Based Automatic Categorization Model for Text Lines in Invoice Documents

  • Automatic understanding of contents in document image is a very hard problem due to involvement with mathematically challenging problems originated mainly from the over-determined system induced by document segmentation process. In both academic and industrial areas, there have been incessant and various efforts to improve core parts of content retrieval technologies by the means of separating out segmentation related issues using semi-structured document, e.g., invoice,. In this paper we proposed classification models for text lines on invoice document in which text lines were clustered into the five categories in accordance with their contents: purchase order header, invoice header, summary header, surcharge header, purchase items. Our investigation was concentrated on the performance of machine learning based models in aspect of linear-discriminant-analysis (LDA) and non-LDA (logic based). In the group of LDA, na$\"{\i}$ve baysian, k-nearest neighbor, and SVM were used, in the group of non LDA, decision tree, random forest, and boost were used. We described the details of feature vector construction and the selection processes of the model and the parameter including training and validation. We also presented the experimental results of comparison on training/classification error levels for the models employed.

A Study on Visual Behavior for Presenting Consumer-Oriented Information on an Online Fashion Store

  • Growth in online channels has created fierce competition; consequently, retailers have to invest an increasing amount of effort into attracting consumers. In this study, eye-tracking technology examined consumers' visual behavior to gain an understanding of information searching behavior in exploring product information for fashion products. Product attribute information was classified into two image-based elements (model image information and detail image information) and two text-based elements (basic text information, detail text information), after which consumers' visual behavior for each information element was analyzed. Furthermore, whether involvement affects consumers' information search behavior was investigated. The results demonstrated that model image information attracted visual attention the quickest, while detail text information and model image information received the most visual attention. Additionally, high-involvement consumers tended to pay more attention to detailed information while low-involvement consumers tended to pay more attention to image-based and basic information. This study is expected to help broaden the understanding of consumer behavior and provide implications for establishing strategies on how to efficiently organize product information for online fashion stores.
