  • 우리나라 염해지의 식생 현황과 식물의 염분에 대한 내성 정도를 알아보기 위해 본 실험을 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 간척지를 비롯한 염해지의 주요 우점초종은 명아주과의 나문재, 칠면초, 해흥나물, 퉁퉁마디와 국화과의 갯개미취 등이었으며 탈염이 진행된 곳에는 부들, 갈대, 갯꾸러미풀 등의 화본과 식물이 우점하였다. 염해지의 우점 초종은 양액에 NaCl을 200mM로 첨가하여 실시한 사경재배에서도 강한 내염성을 나타내어 간척지의 식생과 이들의 내염성과는 일치성을 나타냈다. 내염성 식물인 명아주과의 나문재, 해흥나물, 가는갯는쟁이, 칠면초와 갯개미취 등이 내염성이 강한 식물종이었으며, 마디풀과의 개여뀌, 큰개여뀌, 털여뀌와 국화과의 별꽃아재비, 진득찰 등은 내염성이 매우 약한 종으로 나타났다. 갯벌 간척 후 탈염이 진행됨에 따라 초기에는 명아주과의 나문재, 해흥나물, 칠면조 등이 우점하고 이후에는 갯개미자리, 갯질경, 갯골풀, 갯꾸러미풀 등이 우점하게되고 이후에는 물대, 갈대 등이 우점하게될 것으로 추정되었다.

Construction Claims Prediction and Decision Awareness Framework using Artificial Neural Networks and Backward Optimization

  • This paper presents optimized artificial neural networks (ANNs) claims prediction and decision awareness framework that guides owner organizations in their pre-bid construction project decisions to minimize claims. The framework is composed of two genetic optimization ANNs models: a Claims Impact Prediction Model (CIPM), and a Decision Awareness Model (DAM). The CIPM is composed of three separate ANNs that predict the cost and time impacts of the possible claims that may arise in a project. The models also predict the expected types of relationship between the owner and the contractor based on their behavioral and technical decisions during the bidding phase of the project. The framework is implemented using actual data from international projects in the Middle East and Egypt (projects owned by either public or private local organizations who hired international prime contractors to deliver the projects). Literature review, interviews with pertinent experts in the Middle East, and lessons learned from several international construction projects in Egypt determined the input decision variables of the CIPM. The ANNs training, which has been implemented in a spreadsheet environment, was optimized using genetic algorithm (GA). Different weights were assigned as variables to the different layers of each ANN and the total square error was used as the objective function to be minimized. Data was collected from thirty-two international construction projects in order to train and test the ANNs of the CIPM, which predicted cost overruns, schedule delays, and relationships between contracting parties. A genetic optimization backward analysis technique was then applied to develop the Decision Awareness Model (DAM). The DAM combined the three artificial neural networks of the CIPM to assist project owners in setting optimum values for their behavioral and technical decision variables. It implements an intelligent user-friendly input interface which helps project owners in visualizing the impact of their decisions on the project's total cost, original duration, and expected owner-contractor relationship. The framework presents a unique and transparent hybrid genetic algorithm-ANNs training and testing method. It has been implemented in a spreadsheet environment using MS Excel$^{(R)}$ and EVOLVERTM V.5.5. It provides projects' owners of a decision-support tool that raises their awareness regarding their pre-bid decisions for a construction project.

표면처리방법에 따른 전기성형금속의 도재결합강도 (SHEAH BOND STRENGTH OF VENEERING CERAMIC TO ELECTROFORMED GOLD WITH THREE DIFFERENT SURFACE TREATMENT)

  • Purpose: The success of the bonding between electroformed gold and ceramic is dependent on the surface treatment of the pure gold coping. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bonding strength between the electroformed gold and ceramic with varying surface treatment. Materials and methods: A total of 32 disks,8 were using conventional ceramometal alloy, 24 were using electroforming technique as recommended by manufacturer, were prepared. 24 electroformed disks were divided 3 groups according to surface treatment, i.e. 50 microns aluminium oxide sandblasting(GES-Sand), gold bonder treatment(GES-Bond) and $Rocatec^{TM}$ system(GES-Rocatec). For control group of conventional alloy 50 microns aluminium oxide treatment was done(V-Supragold). Energy dispersive x-ray analysis and scanning electron microscope image were observed. Using universal testing machine, shear bond strength and bonding failure mode at metal-porcelain interface were measured. Results and Conclusion: The following conclusions were drawn: 1. In the energy dispersive x-ray analysis, the Au was main component in electroformed gold(99.9wt%). After surface treatment, a little amount of $Al_2O_3(2.4wt%)$ were found in GES-Sand, and $SiO_2(4wt%)$ in GES-Bond. In GES-Rocatec, however, a large amount of $SiO_2(17.4wt%)$ were found. 2. In the scanning electron microscopy, similar pattern of surface irregu larities were observed in V-Supragold and GES-Sand. In GES-Bond, surface irregularities were increased and globular ceramic particles were observed. In GES-Rocatec, a large amount of silica particles attached to metal surface with increased surface irregularities were observed. 3. The mean shear bond strength values(MPa) in order were $22.9{\pm}3.7(V-Supragold),\;22.1{\pm}3.8(GES-Bond),\;20.1{\pm}2.8(GES-Rocatec)\;and\;13.0{\pm}1.4(GES-Sand)$. There was no significant difference between V-Supragold, GES-Bond, and GES-Rocatec. (P>0.05) 4. Most bonding failures modes were adhesive type in GES-Sand. However, in V-Supragold, GES-Bond and GES-Rocatec, cohesive and combination failures were commonly observed. From the result, with proper surface treatment method electroformed gold may have enough strength compare to conventional ceramometal alloy.

유기인제저항성 점박이응애(Tetranychus urticae Koch)에 관한 연구 (An Investigation of the Control of Two-Spotted Spider Mites (Tetranychus urticae Koch) Resistant to Organo-Phosphates)

  • The study involved determination of resistance levels of spider mites ta argano-phosphates using topical application and slide dip techniques; laboratory serening tests of alternative acaricides using an O/P resistant strain and a field trial of the screened materials. 1. Strains of Tetranychus were from Timaru(TR), Havelock Narth (HNR), Lincaln (LN). Germany (GR, GN). Comparisons of the resistant strains and normal strains at the LD50 and LC50 levels were as follows : (a) Using the topical application tochnique; with Parathian. resistant levels of the GR. TR and HNR strains of T. urticae were respeativuly, 1035. 484 and 452 times as resistant' as the LN strain. (b) Using the slide dip technique; with Phosdrin, resistant of GR, TR and HNR strains of T. urticae were 635, 274 and 266 times greater respeativuly, than the GN strain. 2. The laboratory sereaning tests were carried out far their contact plus stomach and residual effect to assess the toxicities of eleven alternative materials which would be used far control of O/P resistant strain of T. urticae. The acaricide groups represented were 3 organo-chlorines (Spidex, Kelthane and C 8514), 2 nitrophenyls (UC 19786 and Morocide), 2 cyclic carbonates(Eradex and Morestan). I carbamate (UC2004 7A), 1 mixture of carbamate and orano-chlorine and 2 other chemicals (C 8677 and M2527). From all acaricide tested. Kelthane and Morocide were the most effective, folowed by Spidex and M2527. Morestan, C8514. C8677 and RS 143 were intermediate, but Eradex, UC 19786 and UC 20046A were poor. 3, The number of sapmles required for estimation of the population in the field evaluation of acaricidal effects was one giving the highest practical precision. It was decided, after preliminary sampling trials. to use samples of 30 leaves per replicate which gave a $5.7\%$ standard error. 4. In the field trials, Morocide applied at the $0.05\%\;and\; 0.04\%$ a. i. conc. to black currant trees gave excellent control of O/P resistant population of T. urticae for about 12 days, but Morocide 0.025 and Kel thane $0.02\%$ a. i. cone. gave efficient control for about 6 days. In other words. first applications of Kel thane ane Moroeide gave very high degrees of control of O/P resistant population of the two-spotted spider mite. However, the results indicate that secondary application would sometimes be necessary. There was no foliage damage of black Currants and strawberries by either acaricides at the concentrations used. 유동가시화를 이용한 혼-타의 간극유동 차단장치 효과에 관한 실험적 검증 (Experimental Verification on the Effect of the Gap Flow Blocking Devices Attached on the Semi-Spade Rudder using Flow Visualization Technique)

  • Recently, rudder erosion due to cavitation has been frequently reported on a semi-spade rudder of a high-speed large ship. This problem raises economic and safety issues when operating ships. The semi-spade rudders have a gap between the horn/pintle and the movable wing part. Due to this gap, a discontinuous surface, cavitation phenomenon arises and results in unresolved problems such as rudder erosion. In this study, we made a rudder model for 2-D experiments using the NACA0020 and also manufactured gap flow blocking devices to insert to the gap of the model. In order to study the gap flow characteristics at various rudder deflection angles($5^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, $35^{\circ}$) and the effect of the gap flow blocking devices, we carried out the velocity measurements using PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) techniques and cavitation observation using high speed camera in Seoul National University cavitation tunnel. To observe the gap cavitation on a semi-spade rudder, we slowly lowered the inside pressure of the cavitation tunnel until cavitation occurred near the gap and then captured it using high-speed camera with the frame rate of 4300 fps(frame per second). During this procedure, cavitation numbers and the generated location were recorded, and these experimental data were compared with CFD results calculated by commercial code, Fluent. When we use gap flow blocking device to block the gap, it showed a different flow character compared with previous observation without the device. With the device blocking the gap, the flow velocity increases on the suction side, while it decreases on the pressure side. Therefore, we can conclude that the gap flow blocking device results in a high lift-force effect. And we can also observe that the cavitation inception is delayed.

감자 바이러스의 혈청학적 동정에 관한 연구 (Serological Identification of Potato Viruses in Korea)

  • 우리나라 씨감자에 발생하고 있는 잠복성바이러스의 종류와 이들의 감염상태를 조사하기 위하여 감자 원원종포, 원종포 그리고 원예시험장 등에서 수집한 외관상 무병 건전하게 보이는 감자와 외관상 바이러스병징이 뚜렷한 감자를 대상으로 혈청학적방법에 의해 바이러스 검정을 실시했다. 검정대상 바이러스는 Potato Virus X(PVX), Potato Virus S(PVS), Potato Virus M(PVM), 그리고 Potato Virus Y (PVY)의 4종이며, 바이러스의 검정은 van Slogteren의 미량침강법에 따라 실시했다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 씨감자 생산포장에서 수집한 감자잎에서 PVX, PVS, PVM, 그리고 PVY가 검출되었는데 우리나라 감자에서 PVM이 검출되었다는 실험적 보고는 이것이 처음이다. 2. 외관상 건전하게 보이는 씨감자의 거의 $100\%$ PVX와 PVS에 약 $10\%$가 PVX+PVS+PVM에, 약 $4.5\%$가 PVX+PVS+PVY에, 그리고 $1\%$ 정도가 PVX+PVS+PVM+PVY에 각각 혼합감염되어 있었다. 3. PVX와 PVS만이 검출된 식물은 대부분 병징이 음폐되어 있었으나 PVX, PVS와 함께 PVY가 검출된 식물은 대부분 뚜렷한 병징을 나타내고 있었다. 4. 혈청학적 미량탐강법은 육안적인 관찰만으로는 검정이 어려운 PVX, PVS, PVM 및 mild strain의 PVY를 씨감자 생산지에서 대규모의 식물은 대상으로 신속정확히 검정하는데 애우 편리한 방법으로 생각된다.

Generation and Detection of Cranial Landmark

  • Purpose When a surgeon examines the morphology of skull of patient, locations of craniometric landmarks of 3D computed tomography(CT) volume are one of the most important information for surgical purpose. The locations of craniometric landmarks can be found manually by surgeon from the 3D rendered volume or 2D sagittal, axial, and coronal slices which are taken by CT. Since there are many landmarks on the skull, finding these manually is time-consuming, exhaustive, and occasionally inexact. These inefficiencies raise a demand for a automatic localization technique for craniometric landmark points. So in this paper, we propose a novel method through which we can automatically find these landmark points, which are useful for surgical purpose. Materials and Methods At first, we align the experimental data (CT volumes) using Frankfurt Horizontal Plane (FHP) and Mid Sagittal Plane(MSP) which are defined by 3 and 2 cranial landmark points each. The target landmark of our experiment is the anterior nasal spine. Prior to constructing a statistical cubic model which would be used for detecting the location of the landmark from a given CT volume, reference points for the anterior nasal spine were manually chosen by a surgeon from several CT volume sets. The statistical cubic model is constructed by calculating weighted intensity means of these CT sets around the reference points. By finding the location where similarity function (squared difference function) has the minimal value with this model, the location of the landmark can be found from any given CT volume. Results In this paper, we used 5 CT volumes to construct the statistical cubic model. The 20 CT volumes including the volumes, which were used to construct the model, were used for testing. The range of age of subjects is up to 2 years (24 months) old. The found points of each data are almost close to the reference point which were manually chosen by surgeon. Also it has been seen that the similarity function always has the global minimum at the detection point. Conclusion Through the experiment, we have seen the proposed method shows the outstanding performance in searching the landmark point. This algorithm would make surgeons efficiently work with morphological informations of skull. We also expect the potential of our algorithm for searching the anatomic landmarks not only cranial landmarks.

광음향 현미경법을 이용한 반도체 표면의 3차원적 구조 분석 (3-D Analysis of Semiconductor Surface by Using Photoacoustic Microscopy)

  • 반도체 제작 과정에서 증착이나 식각, 회로의 검사 등에서 생겨날 수 있는 미세한 흠집이나 불완전성을 검사하기 위해 광음향 현미경법을 응용하였다. 반도체 표면에서 발생되는 광음향 신호를 측정하여 흠집의 형태와 깊이를 결정함으로써 3차원 영상을 분석하여 그 구조를 밝혔다. 또한 광음향 현미경법을 이용하여 진성 GaAs 반도체의 운반자 운송성질(비방사 벌크재결합 및 비방사 표면재결합)과 열확산도 및 시료 깊이에 따른 3차원 영상을 분석하여 진성 GaAs 반도체 열확산도 측정 시, 빛이 조사되는 표면조건에 따라 광음향신호의 주파수 의존성이 달라짐을 관측하였다. 실험결과 표면상태가 거친 면에서 매끄러운 면으로 갈수록 높은 주파수 의존성을 나타내었다. Si 웨이퍼 위에 임의로 제작되어진 흠집을 만들고 이를 광음향 현미경법으로 측정한 결과 광음향 신호는 변조되는 주파수와 웨이퍼의 열적 특성에 따라 달라지며 이를 통하여 흠집의 형태와 위치 및 크기를 확인하였다. 광음향 현미경은 반도체 소자나 세라믹 물질에 대하여 비파괴 검사와 비파괴 평가에 관한 연구가 가능하며 반도체 공정 과정에서 생겨날 수 있는 시료의 깨짐이나 결함 등을 검사하는데 응용 가능한 분석법임이 증명되었다.

궤도형식별 사용레일의 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue Life Evaluation for Used Rail on Track Types)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 궤도형식별로 사용레일의 피로수명을 평가하는 것이다. 이를 위해 궤도형식별 사용레일에 대한 실내피로시험을 수행하여 파괴확률 50%~0.01% 의 S-N 선도를 도출하고, 실험데이터에 대한 가중치 확률해석기법을 사용하여 피로수명을 산출하였다. 여기서, 레일표면요철 및 열차속도를 고려한 사용레일의 휨응력은 기존 연구결과 도출된 레일휨응력 예측식을 이용하여 구하고, S-N 선도로부터 사용레일의 잔존수명을 평가하였다. 평가결과, 자갈도상의 경우 레일의 피로수명이 현 레일교환기준에 비해 약 2억톤 이상 높았고, 콘크리트도상의 레일 피로수명이 자갈궤도에 비해 약 3억톤 이상 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 누적통과톤수에 의한 레일교환기준을 자갈궤도와 콘크리트궤도로 구분할 필요가 있으며, 레일연마를 통한 레일관리가 이루어진다면 기준값이 아닌 목표값으로 관리할 필요가 있다.

전기성형술로 제작된 외관의 유지력에 내관의 축면경사도와 표면적이 미치는 영향 (EFFECT OF TAPER AND SURFACE AREA OF INNER CROWN ON THE RETENTIVE FORCE OF ELECTROFORMED OUTER CROWN)

  • Purpose: With gold electroforming system fir the double crown, the secondary crown is electroformed directly onto the primary crown. An even thick layer of high precision can be acquired. It is thought that the retention of electroformed outer crown is primarily acquired by the adhesive force (surface tension) through the saliva which is interposed between precisely fitted inner and outer crown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of taper and surface area of inner crown on the retentive force of electroformed outer crown according to the presence of saliva. Materials and methods: 32 titanium inner crowns with cervical diameter of 8 mm and cone angles of 0, 2, 4, 6 degrees, which had same surface area by regulated height, were machined on a lathe. Another 32 titanium inner crowns with cone angles of 0, 2, 4, 6 degrees, which had doubled surface area by increased cervical diameter. were fabricated. Eight specimens of each group, for a total of 64 titanium inner crowns, were prepared. The electroformed outer crowns were fabricated directly on the inner crowns by using electroforming machine(GAMMAT free, Gramm Technik, Germany). The tertiary frameworks were waxed-up on the electroformed outer crown and cast using nonprecious alloy($Rexillium^(R)III,\;Jeneric^(R)/Pentronh^(R)$ Inc., USA). The cast metal frameworks were sandblasted with alubimium oxides and cemented using resin cement(Superbond C&B, Sun Medical Co., Japan) over the electroformed copings of each specimen. Then, artificial saliva($Taliva^(R)$, Halim Pharm. Co., Korea) was sprayed between the inner and outer crown, and they were connected under 5 kg force. The retentive force was measured by the universal testing machine(Tinius Olsen 1000, Tinius Olsen, USA) with a cross-head speed of 66.67 mm/sec. The direction of cross-head travel was exactly aligned with the path of removal of the respective specimens. This measurement procedures for retentive force of electroformed outer crown with artificial saliva were repeated in the same way without presence of artificial saliva. Results and Conclusion: The following conclusions were drawn: 1. The retentive force of electroformed outer crown was decreased according to increased taper of inner crown(P<.05). 2. The retentive force of electroformed outer crown showed no significant differences according to surface area and the presence of artificial saliva(P>.05).
