We develop a series of N-body data challenges, functional to the final analysis of the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) Data Release 16 (DR16) galaxy sample, primarily based on high-fidelity catalogs constructed from the Outer Rim simulation. We generate synthetic galaxy mocks by populating Outer Rim halos with a variety of halo occupation distribution (HOD) schemes of increasing complexity, spanning different redshift intervals. We then assess the performance of three complementary redshift space distortion (RSD) models in configuration and Fourier space, adopted for the analysis of the complete DR16 eBOSS sample of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs). We find that all the methods are mutually consistent, with comparable systematic errors on the Alcock-Paczynski parameters and the growth of structure, and robust to different HOD prescriptions - thus validating the robustness of the models and the pipelines used for the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and full shape clustering analysis. Our study is relevant for the final eBOSS DR16 'consensus cosmology', as the systematic error budget is informed by testing the results of analyses against these high-resolution mocks. In addition, it is also useful for future large-volume surveys, since similar mock-making techniques and systematic corrections can be readily extended to model for instance the DESI galaxy sample.

In order to efficiently inspect rapidly increasing old tunnels in many well-developed countries, many inspection methodologies have been proposed using imaging equipment and image processing. However, most of the existing methodologies evaluated their performance on a clean concrete surface with a limited area where other objects do not exist. Therefore, this paper proposes a 6-step framework for tunnel crack detection deep learning model development. The proposed method is mainly based on negative sample (non-crack object) training and Cascade Mask R-CNN. The proposed framework consists of six steps: searching for cracks in images captured from real tunnels, labeling cracks in pixel level, training a deep learning model, collecting non-crack objects, retraining the deep learning model with the collected non-crack objects, and constructing final training dataset. To implement the proposed framework, Cascade Mask R-CNN, an instance segmentation model, was trained with 1561 general crack images and 206 non-crack images. In order to examine the applicability of the trained model to the real-world tunnel crack detection, field testing is conducted on tunnel spans with a length of about 200m where electric wires and lights are prevalent. In the experimental result, the trained model showed 99% precision and 92% recall, which shows the excellent field applicability of the proposed framework.
The most important component of wind turbine is rotor blades. The developing method of wind turbine was focused on design of rotor blade. By the way, the design of a rotating body is more decisive process in order to adjust the performance of wind turbine. For instance, the design allows the designer to specify the wind characteristics derived by topographical map. The iterative solver is then used to adjust one of the selected inputs so that the desired rotating performance which is directly related to power generating capacity and efficiency is achieved. Furthermore, in order to save the money for manufacturing the rotor blades and to decrease the maintenance fee of wind power generation plant, while decelerating the cut-in speed of rotor. Therefore, the design and manufacturing of rotating body is understood as a substantial technology of wind power generation plant development. The aiming of this study is building-up the profitable approach to designing of rotating body as a system for the wind power generation plant. The process was conducted in two steps. Firstly, general designing and it’s serial testing of rotating body for voltage measurement. Secondly, the serial test results above were examined with the CFD code. Then, the analysis is made on the basis of amount of electricity generated by rotor-blades and of cut-in speed of generator.
In the present study, a special attention has been paid to the effects regarding the use of different superplasticizers in different dosages. To do so, 36 mixes of normal and self-compacting concrete with two water/binder ratios of 0.35 and 0.45, four different types of superplasticizer including melamine-formaldehyde, naphthalene-formaldehyde, carboxylic-ether and poly-carboxylate, four different superplasticizer/cement ratios of 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2% and 1.6% and two silica fume/cement ratios of 0% and 10% have been cast. Moreover, the initial and final setting time of the pastes have been tested. For self-compacting mixes, flow time, slump flow, V-funnel, J-ring and L-box tests have been carried out as well as testing the compressive strength and rupture modulus. For normal concrete mixes, slump test has been conducted to assess the workability of the mix and then for each mix, the compressive strength and rupture modulus have been determined. The results indicate that in addition to the important role of superplasticizer type and dosage on fresh state properties of concrete, these parameters as well as the use of silica fume could affect the hardened state properties of the mixes. For instance, the mixes whose superplasticizer were poly-carboxylic-ether based showed better compressive and tensile strength than other mixes. Besides, the air contents showed robust dependency to the type of the superplasticizer. However, the use of silica fume decreased the air contents of the mixes.

The one of the principles described in ICH E9 is that only results obtained from pre-specified statistical methods in a protocol are regarded as confirmatory evidence. However, in multi-regional clinical trials, even when results obtained from pre-specified statistical methods in protocol are significant, it does not guarantee that the test treatment is approved by regional regulatory agencies. In other words, there is no so-called global approval, and each regional regulatory agency makes its own decision in the face of the same set of data from a multi-regional clinical trial. Under this situation, there are two natural methods a regional regulatory agency can use to estimate the treatment effect in a particular region. The first method is to use the overall treatment estimate, which is to extrapolate the overall result to the region of interest. The second method is to use regional treatment estimate. If the treatment effect is completely identical across all regions, it is obvious that the overall treatment estimator is more efficient than the regional treatment estimator. However, it is not possible to confirm statistically that the treatment effect is completely identical in all regions. Furthermore, some magnitude of regional differences within the range of clinical relevance may naturally exist for various reasons due to, for instance, intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Nevertheless, if the magnitude of regional differences is relatively small, a conventional method to estimate the treatment effect in the region of interest is to extrapolate the overall result to that region. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects produced by this type of extrapolation via estimations, followed by hypothesis testing of the treatment effect in the region of interest. This paper is written from the viewpoint of regional regulatory agencies.
Consumer interest in eco-friendly fashion products has been consistent. While most relevant research emphasizes individual morals and environmental concern as the most crucial determinants to eco-friendly consumption behavior, more recent studies point out that in so doing there has been somewhat a neglectance on the importance of fundamental marketing strategies. More specifically, the crucial role of interior colors in fashion retail stores has been managerially considered something certain yet no empirical results have been found to support such a strong managerial assumption. For instance, colors such as green, blue, and brown are believed to represent natural images and are more appropriate to the eco-friendly marketing and the relevant research has been lacking. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the effect of in-store interior design colors (green versus non-green) on consumer perception of green store images. A total of 382 respondents were gathered for an online survey using differing store images as the stimulus and used for testing hypotheses. In the results, respondents exposed to store images using green interior colors reported a higher evaluation of green store image of the store. The effect is found to be significantly moderated by respondent's environmental concern: to explain, respondents of high environmental concern are less influenced by green color interiors when they evaluate the brand's eco-friendly image. In sum, the positive influence of green interior colors on green store image is found statistically significant, with its stronger effect for consumers of low concern. Managerial and academic discussions are provided.
As a result of the technological advance provided by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in 1992, the evaluation and treatment of the infertile male has changed significantly. Many men who were previously thought to be irreversibly infertile have the potential to initiate their own biologic pregnancy. However, not all men having impaired semen parameter are ideal candidates for ICSI for numerous reasons including a lack of addressing the underlying problem causing the male infertility, unknown genetic consequences, and cost-effectiveness issues. In this era of ICSI, the fundamental approach to the male with suspected subfertility is unchanged and is based on a history, physical examination, and focused laboratory testing. The urologist should approach the patient with an intent to identify remediable causes of subfertility given the specific clinical situation. For instance, should a gentleman have his varicocele repaired or vasectomy reversed, or should he proceed directly with ICSI? If no factors can be improved in a timely manner, then ICSI should be considered using the available sperm. Examples of recent advances include the diagnosis and treatment of ejaculatory duct obstruction, indications and techniques for performing testis biopsy, and technique for sperm harvesting. In addition, potential genetic causes of male subfertility should be diagnosed and discussed with the patient. Cystic fibrosis gene mutation, karyotype abnormallities, and Y-chromosome microdeletions all have recently been identified as causative for male infertility in otherwise phenotypically normal men. With recently evolved diagnostic and therapeutic techniques now available for the infertile couple, even the most severe male factor problems in patients previously considered irreversibly infertile are now potentially treatable. The physician should be aware of the availability and limitations of these new and exciting reproductive technologies because they will allow him to provide timely and more effective therapy for the infertile couple. An understanding of these advances by all physicians is important as we progress into the $21^{st}$ century
A complex event processing system, becoming useful in real life domains, efficiently processes stream of continuous events like sensor data from IoT systems. However, those systems do not work well on some types of queries yet, so that programmers should be careful about that. For instance, they do not sufficiently provide detailed guide to choose efficient queries among the almost same meaning queries. In this paper, we propose an query preprocessing tool for event stream processing systems, which helps programmers by giving them the hints to improve performance whenever their queries fall in any possible bad formats in the performance sense. We expect that our proposed module would be a big help to increases productivity of writing programs where debugging, testing, and performance tuning are not straightforward.
In the last decades, research efforts have been spent to investigate the effect of prestressing on the dynamic behaviour of prestressed concrete (PSC) beams. Whereas no agreement has been reached among the achievements obtained by different Researchers and among the theoretical and the experimental results for simply supported beams, very few researches have addressed this problem in continuous PSC beams. This topic is, indeed, worthy of consideration bearing in mind that many relevant bridges and viaducts in the road and railway networks have been designed and constructed with this structural scheme. In this paper the attention is, thus, focused on the dynamic features of continuous PSC bridges taking into account the effect of prestressing. This latter, in fact, contributes to the modification of the distribution of the bending stress along the beam, also by means of the secondary moments, and influences the flexural stiffness of the beam itself. The dynamic properties of a continuous, two spans bridge connected by a nonlinear spring have been extracted by solving an eigenvalue problem in different linearized configurations corresponding to different values of the prestress force. The stiffness of the nonlinear spring has been calculated considering the mechanical behaviour of the PSC beam in the uncracked and in the cracked stage. The application of the proposed methodology to several case studies indicates that the shift from the uncracked to the cracked stage due to an excessive prestress loss is clearly detectable looking at the variation of the dynamic properties of the beam. In service conditions, this shift happens for low values of the prestress losses (up to 20%) for structure with a high value of the ratio between the permanent load and the total load, as happens for instance in long span, continuous box bridges. In such conditions, the detection of the dynamic properties can provide meaningful information regarding the structural state of the PSC beam.
The worldwide focus on reducing the emissions, fuel and lubricant consumption in T-GDI engines is leading engineers to consider the crankcase ventilation and oil mist separation system as an important means of control. In today's passenger cars, the oil mist separation systems mainly use the inertia effect (e.g. labyrinth, cyclone etc.). Therefore, this study has investigated high efficiency cylinder head-integrated oil-mist separator by using a compact multi-impactor type oil mist separator system to ensure adequate oil mist separation performance. For this purpose, engine dynamometer testing with oil particle efficiency measurement equipment and 3D two-phase flow simulation have been performed for various engine operating conditions. Tests with an actual engine on a dynamometer showed oil aerosol particle size distributions varied depending on operating conditions. For instance, high rpm and load increases bot only blow-by gases but the amount of small size oil droplets. Submicron-sized particles (less than 0.5 ㎛) were also observed. It is also found that the impactor type separator is able to separate nearly no droplets of diameter lower than 3 ㎛. CFD results showed that the complex aerodynamics processes that lead to strong impingement and break-up can strip out large droplets and generate more small size droplets.
