A Study on Evaluation Method of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC 차량의 시험평가 방법에 대한 연구)

  • With automobiles sharply increasing in numbers worldwide, we are faced with critical social issues such as traffic accidents, traffic jams, environmental pollution, and economic inefficiency. In response, research on ITS is promoted mainly by regions with advanced automotive industry such as the U.S., Europe, and Japan. While Korea is working on moving forward in the global market through developing and turning to global standards systems related to ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle), the country is not fully prepared for such projects. The purpose of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) is to control a vehicle's longitudinal speed and distance and minimize driver workload. Such a system should be valuable in preventing accidents, as it reduces driver workload in the 21st-century world of telematics created by development of the automobile culture industry. In this light, the thesis presents a method to test and evaluate ACC system and a mathematical method to assess distance. For the proposed test and evaluation, theoretical values are tested with vehicle test and a database is acquired, by using vehicles equipped with an ACC system. Theoretical evaluation criteria for developing ACC system may be used and scenario-specific evaluation methods may find useful application through testing the formula proposed by comparing the database and mathematical method.

Development of the Dissolution Tests for Nafronyl Oxalate Capsules and Tramadol Hydrochloride Capsules (수산나프로닐 캡슐 및 염산트라마돌 캡슐의 용출시험에 관한 연구)

  • The dissolution test method and an analytical procedure by HPLC were developed and validated for nafronyl oxalate capsules and tramadol hydrochloride capsules. These drugs were not yet characterized by the dissolution specifications in the Korean Pharmaceutical Codex. So, with each reference and test drugs, we did the preliminary and standard experiments based on the Korean Pharmacopeia Guideline of dissolution testing for solid oral dosage forms. The dissolution test for nafronyl oxalate capsules was carried out under sink conditions as follows: dissolution medium phosphate buffer pH 6.8, paddle rotation speed 100 rpm and vessel volume 900 ml. More than 80% of its label amount was released within 30 min in this method. Also the dissolution test for tramadol hydrochloride capsules was carried out under sink conditions as follows: dissolution medium water, paddle rotation speed 50 rpm and vessel volume 900 ml. More than 90% of its label amount was released within 15 min in this method. The dissolution samples were analyzed with a validated HPLC analytical procedure. The analytical methodology showed acceptable values in terms of specificity, linearity, precision and accuracy. The dissolution test methods described above were adequate for the purpose and may be proposed as a pharmacopeial standard to assess the performance of nafronyl oxalate capsules and tramadol hydrochloride capsules. Furthermore, the outcomes of this study were expected to help create an environment where safe and high quality drugs would be distributed on the domestic market making contributions to advancing public health.

Experimental Study on the Nondestructive Evaluation of Udimet 720Li Disc (Udimet 720Li 디스크의 비파괴 평가에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Materials and parts required for nondestructive testing should be evaluated using with standard block. And it is ruled that standard blocks should be fabricated from same or similar material with test specimen. In order to manufacture and export materials and parts, quality assurance system should be required. In this paper, ultrasonic characteristics of ASTM 4340 steel ultrasonic standard block are investigated for nondestructive evaluation of udimet 720Li disc. Microstructures of udimet 720Li alloy are investigated using with optical and transmission electron microscope. Also ultrasonic transit time and attenuation are measured from high power ultrasonic analysis system with phase adjustment method. Conclusively, it is proved that 4340 steel ultrasonic standard block can be use for nondestructive evaluation of udimet 720Li disc.

HMnet Evaluation for Phonetic Environment Variations of Traning Data in Speech Recognition

  • In this paper, we propose a new evaluation methodology which can more clearly show the performance of the allophone modeling algorithm generally used in large vocabulary speech recognition. The proposed evaluation method shows the running characteristics and limitations of the modeling algorithm by testing how the variation of phonetic environments of training data affects the recognition performance and the desirable number of free parameters to be estimated. Using the method, we experiment results, we conclude that, in vocabulary-independent recognition task, the phonetic diversity of training data greatly affects the robustness of model, and it is necessary to develop a proper measure which can determine the number of states compromizing the robustness and the precision of the HMnet better than the conventional modeling efficiency.

  • This study aims to evaluate the usability of XML-based Chungnam National University Digital Library Website. Usability testing are used three method, that is Log File Analysis, Online Questionnaire and Heuristic Evaluation. Log files are analyzed in using WiseLog Enterprise and Hit Analyzer for Enterprise jx 1.5 Beta Version and total 21 items are analyzed and evaluated in using online questionnaire method and heuristic evaluation is inquired by experts of web and information retrieval fields. Finally this paper was suggested some problems and improvements to advance quality of user services in university digital library website in korea.

Study on Highly Accuracy Quality Evaluation of Spot Weld by use of Image Processing Technique

  • This paper discusses the feasibility of Ultrasonic Nondestructive Evaluation (UNDE) technique for sport weld quality. Ultrasonic c-scan image assisted by image processing technique was used for Nondestructive Evaluation(NDE) of spot weld quality. Ultrasonic testing results obtained were confirmed and compared by Optical Microscope and SAM(Scanning Acoustic Mircroscope) observation of the spot-weld cross section, The results show that the nugget dinameter can be successfully measured with the accuracy of 0.5mm. It was ascertained that ultrasonic c-scan technique is very effective method for the sake of the approach to the quantitative measurement of nugget diameter and the discrimination of the corona bond from nugget. Additional support for the above conclusions is provided by the results for galvanized steel. The ultrasonic results for galvanized welds generally correspond to the results for uncoated steel. Finally, it was found that the above-mentioned technique can be sufficiently applied to NDE method for securing the Quality Assurance(QA) of spot welded products in production line.

  • Various HILS systems for developing and testing vehicle mechatronic systems have been proposed and constructed during the last few years. However, performance of those systems have not been evaluated in a systematic way. Based on the transfer function approach, this paper presents a method far evaluating performance such as stable dynamic simulation range of a proposed steering HILS system. In the evaluation, we have investigated effects of time delays that exist in the real-time dynamic simulation, additional actuators, and data transmission on the stable dynamic simulation range, simulation frequency range, and steering feel. This evaluation methodology may be useful to help engineers develop a HILS system for their own purposes.

  • There is basic problem with the current evaluation method for character recognition systems. The current method evaluates the average recognition rate by applying the test data to the target system. The average recognition rate tells no more than and no less than the overall performance and it depends on the data. In this paper we propose a testing method which will analyze the target system and point out its strong points and weak points. This can be made possible through using the data which are generated cy distorting the standard character images according to a carefully controlled manner. This paper will describe how to automatically generate such distorted images. Also we will show the method is actually effective and useful by applying it to evaluating existing recognition algorithms.

  • Nondestructive method can include both testing itself and analysis or evaluation of the testing results. Although vast amount of testing can be accomplished in a fairly short amount of time due to the advancement of electronic technology. it is really difficult matter to identify whether the indication found during testing corresponds to be a real defect. Thus, in ultrasonic testing, advanced digital signal processing techniques have been widely studied in order to identify the shape of the defect during testing, and one of the signal processing techniques, synthetic aperture focusing technique(SAFT) was tried for holes machined in carbon steel plate in this study. Result showed that signal to noise ratio has been improved considerably compared to the result from original RF signals.

  • Adhesive bonding is becoming one of the popular joining techniques in metal industries, since it has some advantages over other techniques such as welding and diffusion bonding, e.g., any dissimilar metals are easily adhesive-bonded together. In this study, the experiments were carried out in order to provide the statistical data with strength evaluation methods: tension, shear and four-point bending tests for thermoplastic epoxy resin based adhesive-bonded metal joints. We should certificate on the probability of the adhesive strength that has the tendency of brittle fracture, the adhesive bonding strength between metals with thermoplastic adhesive has the best probability at four-point bending test. The strength testing method that has higher probability is four-point bending test, shear test and tensile test in order.
