  • As the number of mobile apps increases exponentially, automation of tests performed in the app development process is becoming more important. Until the app is released, iterative verification is performed through various types of tests, and this study was conducted focusing on the GUI test among various types of tests. This study is meaningful in that it can contribute to the stable app distribution of the developer by suggesting the development direction of the GUI test. To develop Android's GUI test tool, I collected basic data before presenting the development method by researching Android's UI controls and Material design guideline. After that, for the existing GUI test automation tool, two tools based on screen capture test and four tools based on source code analysis test were studied. Through this, it was found that existing GUI test tools don't consider visual design, usability, and component arrangement. In order to supplement the shortcomings of existing tools, a new GUI test automation tool development method was presented based on the basic data previously studied.

  • In this paper, we propose a slurry jet (water containing $1\;{\mu}m$ alumina particles) impact test in order to quickly evaluate the wear properties of physical vapor deposited (PVD) coatings on commercial cutting tools. Linear wear was obtained for bothe coating and substrate material, and the penetration through the coating into the substrate was signified by a sharp increase in slope of the wear versus time curve. The PVD coatings deposited on the tools showed the same wear rates as those on reference plate specimens produced by the same coating methods. We conclude that our proposed evaluation technique for coatings is considerably useful as a screening test when evaluating coated tools like twist drills, taps, end mills, gear hobs, etc.

  • In this paper, we compared four analyzers Clang, CppCheck, Compass, and a commercial one from a domestic startup using the NIST's Juliet test suit and STONESOUP that is introduced recently. Tools showed detection efficacy in the order of Clang, CppCheck, the domestic one, and Compass under Juliet tests; and Clang, the domestic one, Compass, and CppCheck under STONESOUP tests. We expect it would be desirable to utilize symbolic execution for vulnerability analysis in the future. On the other hand, the results of tool evaluation also testifies that Juliet and STONESOUP as a benchmark for static analysis tools can reveal differences among tools. Finally, each analyzer has different CWEs that it can detect all given test programs. This result can be used for selection of proper tools with respect to specific CWEs.

  • Servo mismatch, which affects positioning accuracy of multi-axis machine tools, is usually estimated via the circular test. However, due to mechanical restrictions in measuring instruments, the circular test using a double ball-bar is difficult to apply in miniaturized or super-large sized machine tools. Laser trackers are widely used to measure the form accuracy of parts and the positioning accuracy of driving systems. In this paper, a technique for the servo mismatch estimation of multi-axis machine tools is proposed via the circular test using a laser tracker. To verify the proposed technique, experiments using a double ball-bar and laser tracker are conducted in a 3-axis machine tool. The difference in the evaluation results is 0.05 msec. The servo mismatch for the miniaturized machine tool is also evaluated using the proposed technique.

  • Unit testing which is the first task to perform software testing has a major impact on reducing s/w development cost and improving s/w quality. In order to make unit testing become the formal procedure rather than ad-hoc tasks performed by developer, the language-neutral measures are necessary in the programming which is able to specify the test cases. This paper presents a test assertion language for the language-neutral specification of the test cases. The suggested language is based on the ISO/IEC 24709-1, but it supports object oriented features and can describe test cases for unit testing. The test cases that are specified by the language can be used for generating test oracle source codes by test oracle generation tools.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in cutting characteristics of cermet, carbide and coated carbide tools in the similar application range via turning test of various conditions. The cermet and carbide tools in the range of ISO P10 grade were developed using optimum compositions with a view to obtaining a high toughness and hardness by PM process. First mechanical properties were characterized on these tools. Experimental results of wear behaviour and resistance to fracturing were presented and discussed in the turning of gray cast iron and alloy steels by cermet, carbide and coated carbide tools. The coated carbide tool shows similar cutting performance compared to the cermet, while the cermet has better combination of wear resistance and toughness of high speed (V=500m/min) cutting in comparison with carbide and coated carbide tools, and also shows a potentiality for cast iron cutting. Fe adhesive behaviour on the tools and surface roughness of workpieces were explained by chemical affinity between tools and workpieces.
