  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical competence of medical student using short case test items. Development of short case test items with definition of an assessment of subject, choice of clinical stations sampling, identification of components of clinical competence to be evaluated, and assessment of practicability and results exploitation. For the last three years 28, 48 and 30 topics were developed annually. Among them 20, 23 and 23 topics were selected. About 50 students were examined annually. The mean score was 72.7, 57.1, 64.3 respectively. The mean preparation time of the students for the examination was 9.8 hours. About 60% of the students prepared the test in small group activity. Our experience suggests that short case test items be feasible for evaluation of student learning in Plastic Surgery. This method should be considered as a useful tool to assess medical student's competence or even an examination for board certification.

  • Navy forces of ROK asked for more than 90% operational availability in the requirement document of combat ship. This study proposes the evaluation methodology of operational availability with the evaluation process, calculation formula, analysis of operational test data. As the case study, the developed methodology is proved to apply for 00 batch-I naval ship using the data to be acquired during the operational test period. The operational availability by test data was 90.03%, and it was satisfied with objective value 90%. The paper will contribute not only to establish the evaluation methodology of operational availability for combat ship but also other general weapon system.

  • In case of sense case manufactured by method of outage capacity, sensitivity is declined by outside effect and method of the photo electricity has a problem in transmission. therefore, packing case of composite sense should be developed to improve such a problem about influence of outside environment and its property evaluation has been performed. Mechanical property and result of analysis & test evaluation of Mat'l on aluminum die-casting(ADC 12type) Mat'l developed are as following. Tensile test piece, No. 4 of KS B 0801, has been applied to mechanical property test of Mat'l and It has been tested by method of metal mat'l tensile test(KS B 0802 : 2003). It can be found that physical property to KS(Korea Standard) is excellent. and homogeneous mechanical property appears. Test of Mat'l analysis has been performed by using OE Spectrometer, according to ASTM E 1251 : 1994 regulation. Consequently, good and homogeneous component contents classified by element to standard, except for Fe, have been obtained with coordination of Fe content as below 1.3% from composition standard of Aluminum Die-casting.

  • In situ experimental studies were Performed at Yongjong Island Geotechnical Experimental Site to evaluate the ground densification on sand deposited. Standard penetration test, cone penetration test, and SASW test were performed and soil profiles and quality of ground improvements were evaluated. The feasibility of applying SASW method were verified by comparing test results. The evaluation technique of in-situ density using SASW and resonant column tests was proposed, and the reliability of proposed method was verified by performing case studies.

  • Thruster break for aerogenerator performs a role that is stopping the rotor in case of emergency such as strong wind, system abnormality or maintenance check. In this study, failure analysis and test evaluation on the thruster break for aerogenerator are proposed, and the entire process to improve reliability of the product through design improvement is presented. The typical failure case is fatigue and wear, and failure cause on these are identified and improvement plan is presented. Lastly, reliability improvement is established to analyse test results before after the life test.

  • The number of devices connect to the internet is rapidly increasing with the advent of the IoT(Internet of Things). The IoT has improved the convenience of life. However, it makes security issues such as privacy violations. Therefore cybersecurity is the most important issue to be discussed nowadays. Especially, various protocols are used for same purpose due to rapidly increase of IoT market. To deal with this security threat noble vulnerability analysis is needed. In this paper, we contribute to the IoT security by proposing a new randomness-based test case evaluation methodology using variance and entropy. The test case evaluation method proposed in this paper can evaluate the test cases at a high speed regardless of the test set size, unlike the traditional technique.

  • This paper presents a model for R&D project selection and evaluation system design developed through literature review. The model emphasizes the fitness between the five elements of the system : evaluation phase and purpose, personnel and organization, evaluation critiria and decision model, evaluation form and procedure, and projects. The model was applied in real situation as a test case. The important findings are that a good project selection and evaluation model contributes only partially to the effectiveness of the project selection and that system development and implementation activity is a dynamic and multi-facetted learning process.

  • The conformance testing of communication protocol is the process to evaluate whether the protocol implemented is identified with standard specification. By evaluating how generated test cases detect many faults, it can be used with standard estimating efficiency of conformance testing. The method that evaluates the capability of fault coverage for test cases, has been researched by mathematical analysis and simulation. In this paper, we pointed out the problem of existing method and proposed new evaluation model of fault covergage for test case which generated by foult model. Also, we analyzed the results comparing to the existing evaluation method and proved its validity.

  • The result of the English test for freshmen showed wide difference in the ability of students, which means the graded class is strongly required. This paper describes the case study about the graded English class that was carried out for the freshman. Every freshman must take an English placement test from problems bank and were classified according to the result of the test. In order to resolve the dissatisfaction of the high level students, the statutes of my university for credit were modified. In order to analyze the effect of the graded class, evaluation test using similar problems was carried out at the end of the semester. The effect of the graded class was analyzed by using the paired samples t-test method and there was a meaningful performance improvement at the average score. Additional improvements in the method of classification and credit granted were made by analyzing the results of the evaluation test and survey.

  • The complexity of modern weapon systems using the IT(intelligence technology) demands that rapid and effective transition from force requirements to deployment and fielding. Thus this paper deals with the DT&E(developmental test & evaluation), OT&E(operational test & evaluation) and SBT(simulation based test) procedure using the case study in the test & evaluation of weapon systems. This study is aimed to produce the effective test & evaluation method of weapon systems in the change of acquisition environment.
