  • Pre-foaming, one of the manufacturing way of foamed concrete, is influenced by foaming agent. When the foaming agent diluted with water, surface tension and viscosity are varied. Therefore, this study is reviewing the surface tension, viscosity and unit weight of foam by experimental factor such as foaming agent types(AES, AOS, VS FP) and foam agent dilution concentration (1, 3, 5%) and temperature of materials (5, 10, 20℃). As an expeimental result, the surface tension and viscosity slightly increased with increasing concentrations. Meanwhile, when increasing temperature, the viscosity has decreased. FP produce relatively stable foams only in case 3% or more, which produce unstable foams containing large amount of water content by decreasing only insignificant surface tension when diluted at concentration of 1%.

  • This paper describes effect of the bending deformation of high voltage composite bushing with winding tension. The composite bushing can be formed, by adding silicone rubber sheds to a tube of composite materials. The FRP tube is internal insulating part of a composite bushing and is designed to ensure the mechanical characteristics. Generally the properties of FRP tube can be influenced by the winding angle, wall thickness and winding tension. As winding tension is increased glass contents was increased in the range of 70.4~76.6%. In the bending test, winding tension is increased residual deflection was decreased in the range of 14.0~12.2 mm.

  • This paper presents a method of the reliability analysis for a tension leg platform(TLP)in severe storm waves by using the first passage concept of the random tensile stress in the tendons. In the present method, two failure conditions are considered ;i.e., the exceedance of the ultimate tensile capacity and the occurrence of the negative tension. In order to consider the correlation effects between the failure events for each corner resulted from the rupture of all tencons at one corner, a new system limit state for a rectangular shaped TLP is developed, which is defined in terms of the TLP motions in the vertical plane ;i.e., heave, roll, and pitch. To illustrate the validity of the present method, the numerical analysis is carried out for two TLP's with different structural dimensions. Then, the results are compared with those by other methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to show the aerodynamic characteristics and differences in muscle tension dysphonia and adductor spasmodic dysphonia to predict factors which will provide additional information while preparing for the objective examination standard to distinguish the two dysphonias. Forty-eight individuals diagnosed with muscle tension dysphonia and adductor spasmodic dysphonia participated in this study. PAS was used in order to find the aerodynamic characteristics for the two dysphonias. The outcomes of this study show that the airflow variation and glottal resistance of the two groups showed noticeable differences. This study concludes that the aerodynamic characteristics may be used as additional information on diverse evaluations to classify muscle tension dysphonia and adductor spasmodic dysphonia.

  • Up to now, various continuous-processing systems are used in the various industrial applications such as textile machines, iron-manufacturing plants, paper-making machines, printing machines, and so on. In these applications, the tension forced on the products in the control volume can be changed according to the velocity difference between the feeding roll and the delivery roll. Specially, the tension variation generated by the velocity difference, or the inertial effect can decreases the quality of the products in the textile process. In this paper, the tension control problem in a circular knitting machine system is treated to cope these problems. Firstly, the tension relationship in the winding mechanism of general continuous-processing ...

  • Maintaining track tension in tracked vehicles minimizes the excessive load on the tracks and prevents the peal-off of tracks from the road-wheel, and adequately guarantees the stable and improved driving of the tracked vehicles. However, the track tension cannot be easily measured due to the limitation in the sensor technology, harsh environment, etc. In this study, the track tension is estimated in real-time from the measurable signals of tracked vehicles and controlled based on a fuzzy logic controller. The proposed control system is implemented on tracked vehicles and its performance is evaluated under various driving conditions.

  • This study investigated the length-tension and velocity-force relations of the torso erectors. A myoelectric based approach was used wherein a dynamic biomechanical model incorporating active and passive tissue charactreistics provided music kinematic estimates during controlled sagittal plan extension motions. A double linear optimization formulation from the literatured provided muscle tension estimates. The data supported a linear length-tension relation toward full flexion for both the erector spinae and latissimus muscles. Velocity trends agreed with that predicted by Hill's exponential relation. The results have implications for muscle tension estimation in biomechanical torso modeling, and suggest a possible low back pain injury mechanism.

  • This study was attempted to investigate the effect of cromakalim(CRK). $K^{-}$ channel opener, and glibenclamide(GLY), $K^{-}$ channel blocker, on intestinal function of rabbit. CRK supressed the tension and spontaneous movement of intestinal strips. Such CRK strengthened the tension and spontaneous movement of strips potentiated by acetylcholine, whereas more attenuated those weakened by dopamine. GLY augmented the tension, did not affect to the spontaneous movement of strips. GLY inhibited the acetylcholine-potentiated responses of tension and spontaneous movements in intestinal strips. GLY blocked the weakened responses of tension, while did not affect to the dopamine-weakened responses of spontaneous movements in intestinal strips. The present studies suggest that $K^{-}$ channel opening suppresses intestinal movements, whereas it's blockade enhances intestinal movements in rabbit.abbit.

  • In case of high speed and high mobility multibody tracked vehicle, it is hard to develop the realtime simulation model for track tension control because of the hundreds of highly nonlinear equations. In order to design more trustworthy realtime simulator for track tension control, it is necessary to use off-line tracked vehicle model. In this study, a step by step procedure is presented to develop realtime simulation model based on off-line tracked vehicle model. Simulation results show that modified off-line multibody tracked vehicle model can be used for real time simulation to control the track tension.

  • This paper presents the non-linear modeling and design of a robust sliding mode controller for film transfer systems. The tension of a film is sensitive to the speed difference between a winder and an unwinder. The change of the roll-radius as well as the moment of inertia result in the film transfer system begin variable and non-linear. In designing the robust controller. Two major aims are considered. The first aim is hat the web transferring speed tracks at any given reference speed; the second one is that the tension of the film tracks at any given reference tension. To verify the control algorithm, a Simulink model was built and compared with a conventional PID controller. In a computer simulation study, the suggested robust sliding mode controller shows better performance than the PID controller a various control inputs.
