열적, 기계적 피로응력이 교정용 브라켓의 결합강도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Thermal and Mechanical Fatigue Stress on Bond Strength in Bracket Base Configurations)

  • 본 연구는 열적 및 기계적 피로응력이 교정용 브라켓의 전단결합강도, 인장결합강도, 전단-인장 복합 결합강도에 미치는 영향과 결합상태에 미치는 영향, 그리고 접착파절 양상을 비교하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 기저부 형태가 다른 5종의 금속 브라켓을 교정치료를 목적으로 발거한 상$\cdot$하악 소구치에 부착하여, 계면에 200g의 전단-인장 복합 하중을 4주간 가한 기계적 피로시험과, 5,000회의 thermocycling을 시행한 열적 피로시험 후, 전단결합강도, 인장결합강도, 및 전단-인장 복합 결합강도를 측정하고, 파절양상을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 정적시험에서 얻은 브라켓 접착부의 결합강도는 Photoetched base가 가장 크고, Integral base가 가장 작았다(p<0.05). 모든 종류의 브라켓에서 전단결합강도가 가장 컸으며, 전단-인장 복합 결합강도는 전단결합강도의 1/3 수준으로 가장 작았다. 2. 4주간 200g의 전단-인장 복합 하중을 가한 후의 결합강도는 Photoetched base가 가장 크고, Integral base가 가장 작았으며 (p<0.05), 기계적 피로시험 후 Photoetched base와 Micro-Etched Foil Mesh base의 전단, 인장, 전단-인장 복합 결합강도가 감소하였고, Chessboard base의 전단결합강도가 감소하였다(p<0.05). 3. 5,000회의 thermocycling 후의 결합강도는 Photoetched base가 가장 컸고, integral base가 가장 작았으며(p<0.05), 열적 피로시험 후 Photoetched base와 Chessboard base, Micro-Etched Foil Mesh base의 결합강도가 모두 감소하였다(p<0.05). 4. 정적시험의 결합강도 측정 후 접착파절은 브라켓/레진 계면에서 일어났으며, thermocycling 후에는 브라켓/레진 계면과, 법랑질/레진 계면, 레진내 파절이 혼합되어 나타나 ARI 점수가 높아졌다. 기계적 피로시험 후에는 정적시험 때와 비슷한 ARI 점수를 보였다. 5. 모든 브라켓에서 thermocycling 후 브라켓/레진 계면과 법랑질/레진 계면에서 미세 균열이 관찰되었다.

  • The development and maintenance of a sound bond are an essential requirements of concrete repair and replacement. The bond property of a bonded overlay to its substrate concrete during the lifetime is one of the most important performance requirements which should be quantified. A standard or a verified bond strength measurement method is required at field for screening, selecting materials and quality control for overlay or repair materials. This study compares the nipple pipe direct tensile test, flexural adhesion test, and core pull-off test with their test results. Substantial differences in the failure stresses of three test methods were attributed to their different geometries and loading conditions. From these comparison and investigation, core pull-off test was relatively good because the coefficient of variation values were about 2%. It would be suitable for use in-situ because of its simplicity and accuracy.

전단 하중을 경험한 후설치 고전단 링앵커의 인장 강도 (Tensile Strength of Post-Installed High-Shear Ring Anchors (HRA) After Shear Loading)

  • Tensile load tests were conducted on High-Shear Ring Anchors (HRAs) after shear load had been applied to the HRAs, which had been developed to reduce the number of the anchors. Test variables include the embedment length of the rod and the width of the specimens and a total of 12 specimens were tested. Test results show that the HRAs pulled out due to bond failure or steel failure occurred in case that the HRAs were installed to the members with 300mm or greater width and the embedment length of 160mm (the actual embedment of rod is 140mm) or deeper. Except 4 HRAs showing steel failure of rod, the minimum and average of test-to-prediction by ACI 318-14 ratios are 1.18 and 1.79, respectively. The tensile strength of HRAs, after shear load was applied to the HRAs, can be safely evaluated by the minimum among the concrete breakout strength and bond strength with the actual embedment length of the rod.

  • This paper presents a bond characteristics of high strength steel reinforced concrete members. High strength steel is what yield strength is higher than that of normal strength steel. So, the amount of flexural steel needed in R.C. members can be decreased. In result, it is expected that the workability and structure quality can improve and man power can minimize. For this purpose, specimens were made and tested with experimental parameters, such as concrete strength, steel diameter and yield strength. The result showed that under same tensile force of steel, in case of substituting normal strength steel with high strength steel, maximum bond stress increased and development length didn't almost change. In addition, the governing equation of bond and bond stress verse slip relationship were derived and compared with test values such as maximum bond stress, slip and bond stiffness.

콘크리트 보강용 FRP 리바의 촉진환경 노출후 인장 및 부착 특성 (Effect of Acceterated Aging on the Tensile and Bond Properties of FRP Rebar for Concrete)

  • The main objective was to evaluate the tensile and bond properties of FRP rebar and durability performance after exposure of accelerated aging condition. Five types of FRP rebar include CFRP ISO, GFRP Asian, AFRP Technora, CFRP(D) and GFRP(D) rebars used in tensile and bond tests. Tensile test results of CFRP(D) and GFRP(D) were shown to possess acceptable tensile and durability performance compared with CFRP ISO, GFRP Asian, and AFRP Technora, Also, bond test results indicated that CFRP(D) and GFRP(D) rebars showed an ability to improve the bond strength.

Mechanical and durability properties of marine concrete using fly ash and silpozz

  • This article reports the utilization of fly ash (FA) waste product from industry and silpozz which is an agro-waste from agriculture as an environmental friendly material in construction industry. The evaluation of strength and durability study was observed using FA and silpozz as a partial replacement of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). The studied parameters are compressive strength, flexural strength, split tensile strength and bond strength as well as the durability study involves the acid soluble chloride (ASC), water soluble chloride (WSC), water absorption and sorptivity. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and XRD of selected samples are also done. It reveals from the test results that the deterioration factor (DF) in compressive strength is 4% at 365 days. The DF of split tensile strength and flexural strength is 0.96% and 0.6% at 90 days respectively. The minimum slip is 1mm and 1.1mm after 28 days of testing bond strength for NWC and SWC sample respectively. The percentage decrease in bond strength is 10.35% for 28 days SWC samples. The pre-cast blended concrete samples performed better to chloride diffusion. Modulus of elasticity of SWC samples are also studied.The water absorption and sorptivity tests are conducted after 28 days of curing.

Fuzzy logic approach for estimating bond behavior of lightweight concrete

  • In this paper, a rule based Mamdani type fuzzy logic model for prediction of slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes were discussed. In the model steel rebar diameters and development lengths were used as inputs. The FL model and experimental results, the coefficient of determination R2, the Root Mean Square Error were used as evaluation criteria for comparison. It was concluded that FL was practical method for predicting slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes.

광중합형 이장재와 금속의치상 간의 결합력에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Tensile Strength between Light-cured Relining Resin and Metal Denture Base)

  • The use of autopolymerizing-cured resin and light-cured resin for direct relining of complete and partial dentures has been popular. This investigation compared the adhesion of autopolymerizing-cured reline resin(Tokuso Rebase, Mild Rebaron) or light-cured reline resin(Mild Rebaron LC, Lighton-U) to metal base or resin base. Cylindrical samples were made from metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) or heat-cured resin(QC-20) and were prepared to produce a flat bonding surface. Cylindrical metal samples were roughened by scratch or by scratch and sandblast and were treated with primer(MR Bond) after scratch and sandblast. And then, liners were prossesed to the cylindrical metal or resin samples according to the manufacturer's recomendations so as to bond metal base or resin base. The specimens were tested in pure tension by using an Instron Univasal testing machine for the four direct reline resins. The results were as follows ; 1. In comparison with tensile bond strength of material relined on resin base or metal base, the case of resin base produced significantly higher tensile bond strengths than the case of metal base. 2. Metal surface pretreatment or primer improved the tensile bond strength between the reline resin and the metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) base. 3. The tensile bond strengths of Mild Rebaron LC relined on resin base or metal base were similar to those of the other reline resins.

주조 금속 표면과 열 중합 수지 표면간의 결합 강도에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE BOND STRENGTH OF HEAT-CURING ACRYIC RESIN BONDED TO A SURFACE OF CASTED ALLOY)

  • Bonding of resin to cast alloy has traditionally been provided by mechanical retention. But, chemical bonding methods such as silicoating, tin plating, heat treatment, application of 4-META adhesives, have been developed to overcome the problems of the mechanical bonding methods. Silicoating has been used availaby in fixed prosthodontics, but is also reported to be used in removable prosthodontics. The aim of this study is to measure the tensile bond strength between resin and metal, and compare the effect of the type of metal and the grain size of the aluminum oxide on the bond strength, after metal surface roughening, coating of the opaque resin, and curing of heat-curing resin were performed. The test groups were divided into 4 groups according to the cast alloys and the aluminum oxide particles used. Group 1 : Type 4 gold alloy(DM66) blasted with $$50{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ Group 2 : Type 4 gold alloy(DM66) blasted with $$250{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$, Group 3 : Co-Cr alloy(Nobilium) blasted with $$50{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ Group 4 : Co-Cr alloy(Nobilium) blasted with $$250{\mu}m\;Al_{2}O_3$$ * 10 test specimens were made on each group. The specimens were thermocycled, and Instron Universal testing machine was used to measure the tensile bond strength of the finished specimens. The results were as follows : 1. Bond strengths showed that the group of gold alloy blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particle had higher bond strength, and the group of gold alloy blasted with $50{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles had lower bond strength than any of the other groups. 2. Gold alloy had significantly higher bond strength when blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles than $50{\mu}m$, but. Co-Cr alloy showed no statistically significant difference between the two particle sizes. 3. When blasted with $50{mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles, Co-Cr alloy showed significantly higher bond strength than gold alloy. And, when blasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles, gold alloy had significantly higher bond strength than Co-Cr alloy. 4. On the examination of the fractured sites, only the group of Co-Cr alloy blasted with $50{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide particles showed a part of residual opaque resin, but all the samples of the other groups fractured between the resin and the metal.

Silicoating이 수지접합 수복물의 결합력에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON BOND STRENGTH OF SILICOATED RESIN BONDED RESTORATION)

  • This study investigated the effects of Silicoating procedure on the tensile bond strength of resin-bonded prostheses. The Rexillium III specimens were treated with electrochemical etching and Silicoating procedure, followed by thermocycling and the NNB, Pors-on 4, and Degudent-U specimens were treated with Silicoating procedure. The specimens were debonded in tension with a Tensilon machine. Also, all specimens were observed with SEM, concentration of Si elements was analyzed with EPMA, and the mode of failure was recorded. The results of this study were obtained as follows: 1. In the Rexillium III specimens, the tensile bond strength of the Silicoated specimens was higher than that of the electrochemically etched specimens, and significant differences were observed (P<0.05). 2. The tensile bond strength of electrochemically etched Rexillium III specimens, significant differences were observed between the thermocycled and nonthermocycled specimens (P<0.05), but no significant differences were observed in the Silicoated specimens (P>0.05). 3. The tensile bond strength of the Silicoated specimens decreased NNB, Pors-on 4, Rexillium III, and Degudent-U in that order named. 4. Unlike the electrochemically etched specimens, the Silicoated specimens showed gap-free metal-resin interfaces with SEM. 5. Compared to the electrochemically etched specimens, the Silicoated specimens showed higher concentration of Si elements at the metal-resin interfaces and resin cement. 6. Photographic evaluation (X2) of the fractured sites revealed mainly cohesive failures with the Silicoated specimens, and adhesive failures with the electrochemically etched specimens.
