배터리 파라미터 측정을 이용한 충전종지전압 예측기법 (Prediction Method of End of Charge Voltage using Battery Parameter Measurement)

  • Recently, e-Mobility, which is a personal mobility device such as an electric bicycle or an electric scooter, is rapidly emerging. However, since E-Mobility has various voltage systems due to the characteristics of its products, it is essential for companies that operate them to use multiple dedicated chargers. A universal charger capable of charging batteries of various voltage systems with one charger is required to reduce the cost of purchasing and managing multiple dedicated chargers. For this, information on the EOC(End of Charge) is essential. In order to know the EOC, it is necessary to detect the internal impedance of the battery. However, the internal impedance of the battery changes according to various conditions such as SOH(State Of Health), SOC(State Of Charge), and ambient temperature. By observing the change in these parameters, the state of the battery can be diagnosed and the EOC can be predicted. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to analyze the battery's internal impedance and to predict the EOC, in order to acquire information on the EOC of the battery, which is an essential requirement of a universal charger.

표면 거칠기가 가스 포일 스러스트 베어링의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Surface Roughness on the Performance of a Gas Foil Thrust Bearing)

  • This study presents an experimental investigation of the effects of surface roughness on gas foil thrust bearing (GFTB) performance. A high-speed motor with the maximum speed of 80 krpm rotates a thrust runner and a pneumatic cylinder applies static loads to the test GFTB. When the motor speed increases and reaches a specific speed at which a hydrodynamic film pressure generated within the gap between the thrust runner and test GFTB is enough to support the applied static load, the thrust runner lifts off from the test GFTB and the friction mechanism changes from the boundary lubrication to the hydrodynamic lubrication. The experiment shows a series of lift-off test and load-carrying capacity test for two thrust runners with different surface roughnesses. For a constant static load of 15 N, thrust runner A with its lower surface roughness exhibits a higher start-up torque but lower lift-off torque than thrust runner B with a higher surface roughness. The load capacity test at a rotor speed of 60 krpm reveals that runner A results in a higher maximum load capacity than runner B. Runner A also shows a lower drag torque, friction coefficient, and bearing temperature than runner B at constant static loads. The results imply that maintaining a consistent surface roughness for a thrust runner may improve its static GFTB performance.

  • Recently, the demand for low-voltage, high-capacity ESS is rapidly increasing due to the revitalization of the e-mobility industry, which is mainly powered by electricity. In addition, the demand for portable power banks is rapidly increasing due to the revitalization of leisure industries such as camping and fishing. The ESS with this structure consists of a small number of series cells and many parallel cells, resulting in a system with a large rated current. Therefore, the number of power devices for cell balancing configured in series is small, but a balancing device with a large current capacity is required. Construction of a constant temperature device in such a low-voltage, high-current ESS is difficult due to economic issues. The demand for an active balancing system that can solve the passive balancing heating problem is rapidly increasing. In this paper, propose a power feedback fly-back topology that can solve the balancing heating problem. The characteristic of the proposed topology is that a series-connected voltage sharing voltage is used as the input of the flyback converter, and the converter output is connected to one transformer. In this structure, the converter output for cell voltage balancing shares magnetic flux through one high-frequency transformer, so the cell voltage connected to the converter automatically converges to the same voltage.

유류오염 토양에서 분리한 Acinetobacter sp. 2-3A의 유화활성 (Emulsification Activity of Acinetobacter sp. 2-3A Isolated from Petroleum Oil-Contaminated Soil)

  • Fifty hydrocarbon-metabolizing microorganisms were isolated from soil samples polluted by the petroleum oils in Gamman-dong, Busan. Among them, strain 2-3A, showing strong emulsification activity, was selected by oil film-collapsing method. This bacterium was identified as Acinetobacter sp. and designated as Acinetobacter sp. 2-3A. The optimum temperature and pH on the growth of Acinetobacter sp. 2-3A were $25^{\circ}C$ and pH 7.0, respectively. The carbon and nitrogen sources for the most effective emulsification activity were 3.0% olive oil and 0.5% peptone, respectively. The 0.15% potassium phosphate was the most effective emulsification activity as a phosphate source. The optimum emulsification activity condition was $20^{\circ}C$, pH 7.0, and 2.0% NaCl. The optimum time for the best production of biosurfactant was 27 hrs. The emulsification stability was maintained at the temperature range from $4^{\circ}C$ to $100^{\circ}C$, pH range from 6.0 to 10.0, and NaCl range from 0% to 10%. For the oil resolvability of the biosurfactant, the residual oils were investigated by gas chromatography. As a result, it was verified that the biosurfactant decreased and decomposed crude oils from $_nC_{10}$ to $_nC_{32}$.

Transfer characteristics of a lithium chloride-potassium chloride molten salt

  • Pyroprocessing is an alternative method of reprocessing spent fuel, usually involving the dissolving spent fuel in a molten salt media. The National Nuclear Laboratory designed, built, and commissioned a molten salt dynamics rig to investigate the transfer characteristics of molten lithium chloride-potassium chloride eutectic salt. The efficacy and flow characteristics of a high-temperature centrifugal pump and argon gas lift were obtained for pumping the molten salt at temperatures up to $500^{\circ}C$. The rig design proved suitable on an industrial scale and transfer methods appropriate for use in future molten salt systems. Corrosion within the rig was managed, and melting techniques were optimized to reduce stresses on the rig. The results obtained improve the understanding of molten salt transport dynamics, materials, and engineering design issues and support the industrialization of molten salts pyroprocessing.

GT-Power기반 Cam-In-Cam 가변밸브작동에 따른 스월유동 및 연소특성 해석 (Analysis of Swirl Flow and Combustion Characteristics by Variable Valve's Operation of Cam-In-Cam System based on GT-Power Program)

  • An analytic strategy to control the variable valve actuation applied to two intake valves (flow port intake valve and swirl port intake valve) was performed in this study. we considered the variation in phasing of intake valve profiles by using the Cam-in-Cam technology. The analytic model was implemented in the GT-Power simulation program and analyzed the result of regulated emissions such as, NOx and Soot, especially with IMEP characteristics. Namely, we meticulously investigated the sources of having effect on the amount of NOx and soot formation under the test conditions with retard timing of both flow port and swirl port intake valves for decreasing the opening duration by 35CAD. Also, we analyzed the effect of incylinder pressure and temperature with NOx variations and in-cylinder pressure and temperature on NOx variations and normalized turbulent intensity. Through this analysis, some useful results on the combustion and flow characteristics of the swirl port and flow port control of the intake valve were obtained by this study.

  • CRW Tyre UAV 추진시스템은 수직으로 이착륙이 가능하고 고정익으로 고속 전진 비행이 가능한 개념으로 설계되었다. 이를 위해 추진시스템은 이착륙 시에는 로터를 구동시켜 수직으로 비행하고 고속 비행 시에는 로터를 정지시켜 날개로 사용하고 가스발생기에서 생성된 가스를 주 노즐로 분사하여 본래의 제트엔진으로 사용한다. ICV방법과 SIMULINK를 이용하여 천이 성능 해석을 수행하였다. 연료유량은 터빈 입구온도의 스텝과 과온 현상을 피하기 위해 램프 증가를 하였고 이에 따른 추력의 변화와 터빈 입구온도의 변화를 살펴보았다.

전해 도금을 이용한 높은 접착 특성을 갖는 섬유 기반 웨어러블 디바이스 제작 (Fabrication of Fabric-based Wearable Devices with High Adhesion Properties using Electroplating Process)

  • 유연한 특성을 유지하면서 높은 접착력을 가진 웨어러블 디스플레이를 제작하기 위하여 전해도금법을 이용한 접착법을 진행하였다. 또한 섬유에 접착된 LED의 사파이어 기판을 제거하기 위하여 LLO 전사법을 이용하였다. 그 후 전해도금을 이용한 접착법을 진행한 샘플의 SEM, EDS 데이터를 통하여 실제로 구리가 섬유직물의 격자사이를 관통하여 성장하며 광원과 섬유를 고정시켜주는 것을 확인하였다. 구리의 접착특성을 확인하기 위하여 Universal testing machine (UTM)을 이용하여 측정하였다. 도금 접착 후 laser lift-off (LLO) 전사공정을 완료한 샘플과 전사공정을 진행하지 않은 LED의 특성을 probe station을 이용하여 비교하였다. 공정 이후의 광원의 특성을 확인하기 위하여 인가 전류에 따른 electroluminescence (EL)을 측정하였다. 전류가 증가할수록 온도가 상승하여 Bandgap이 감소하기 때문에 spectrum이 천이하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 radius 변화에 따른 샘플의 전기적 특성 변화를 probe station을 이용하여 확인하였다. Radius 변형에도 구리가 bending stress를 견딜 수 있는 기계적 강도를 가지고 있어 Vf 변화는 6% 이하로 측정되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 웨어러블 디스플레이 뿐만 아니라 유연성이 필요한 배터리, 촉매, 태양전지 등에 적용되어 웨어러블 디바이스의 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

비전통 유·가스정에서 ESP 성능 평가를 위한 Flow Loop 시스템 개발 (Development of Flow Loop System to Evaluate the Performance of ESP in Unconventional Oil and Gas Wells)

  • 전기식 액중형 펌프 (electrical submersible pump, ESP)는 인공채유 (artificial lift) 기법 중 적용성과 운영 효율이 높아 전 세계 생산정에서 운영되고 있다. 저류층에서 ESP 운영 시 온도·압력, 가스·오일비, 유량 등의 변수는 ESP 성능에 영향을 미치는 요소로서, 특히 생산유체 내 자유 가스 (free gas)는 ESP의 수명 및 운영 효율을 감소시키는 주요 요인에 해당한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ESP 성능에 영향을 미치는 변수를 정량적으로 분석하고자 현장 운영조건에서 ESP 성능실험과 손상모사 실험이 가능한 환형 유동 시스템 (flow loop system) 을 개발하였다. 개발 장치는 ESP와 튜빙 (tubing)을 하나의 시스템으로 연동시켜 ESP의 고장 및 원인 진단, 튜빙의 누출 특성을 파악할 수 있는 일체형 시스템에 해당한다. 본 연구에서는 ESP 성능 평가와 관련된 단상 유체 (single phase)와 2상 유체 (two phase) 실험을 통해 ESP를 안정적으로 운영하기 위한 유동 조건을 규명하였다. 도출된 결과값은 ESP 고장 예측 및 진단 프로그램 개발을 위한 기본 자료를 제공하며, ESP 운영을 위한 최적 운영 조건 및 고장 진단을 위한 실시간 모니터링에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • An axial flux magnet for a magnetic levitation system is designed and analysed by finite element simulations. The results are compared with those of experiment in order to verify the analysing method. Lift force, air gap flux density and temperature characteristics of the magnet showed fairly good agreement with each other.
