  • The modern welding technology hue more then 100 years history, and during that period, the welding has been playing an important role in the development of the manufacturing processes/systems as a key technology. In the time we enter the 21st century, it is question how to develop the innovative and attractive welding technology, in particular by the younger generation. The present report discussed the future trend of welding engineering mainly in Japan after reviewing the previous growth of welding engineering.

Trends of the Storm Wave Appearance on the East Coast Analyzed by using Long-term Wave Observation Data (장기실측 파랑자료 분석을 통한 동해안 폭풍파 출현 추세)

  • The trend in appearance of storm waves on the east coast of Korea was investigated based on long-term wave data observed at six different stations. At the four wave stations of KIOST (Sokcho, Mukho, Hupo, and Jinha), no notable trend was found during the observation period with respect to the annual average and maximum values of the significant wave height. In addition, the annual number of the appearance of storm waves showed decreasing trend at the three stations except Jinha, where slightly increasing trend of the quantity was recognized. In contrast, at Donghea ocean data buoy of KMA, abruptly increasing trend was found for the annual average and maximum of the significant wave height and for the annual number of the appearance of storm waves as well, demonstrating lack of consistency in the observation data from Donghea buoy of KMA.

  • In this paper, the climate change in Haiyan County in recent decades was analyzed in detail with the methods of moving average, Mann-Kendall non-parametric mutation test and wavelet analysis. According to the variation trend of meteorological factors such as temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, pan evaporation and precipitation in recent decades, the climate of Haiyan County has a tendency of drought, which is becoming more and more serious. From the results of the analysis, the sunshine hours and the air temperature in Haiyan County have an obvious upward trend. The average surface temperature has increased by 2.75 ℃ from 1976, and its largest increase occurred in the late 1970s and 1980s. At this stage, the average surface temperature increased by 1.37 ℃. The relative humidity has a decreasing trend that has decreased by 2.75%. From 1976 to the present, there are two quasi-3a cycles and one quasi-6a cycle. The precipitation and evaporation showed the opposite change trend, in which the trend of precipitation fluctuated upward, while the trend of evaporation showed a fluctuating downward tendency, which led to the serious loss of water in the feeding area. The wind direction in Haiyan County are mainly from west to east, and its wind speed has a trend of slight increase.

  • The applications of white LEDs has been expanded from mobile phone to LCD TV as a backlight source recently and now are penetrating into the lighting market. With these changes new requirements for LEDs phosphors are demanded. In this point of view recent technology trend of phosphors for LCD backlight and lighting will be discussed.

A Study on the Demand Forecasting of Healthcare Technology from a Consumer Perspective : Using Social Data and ARIMA Model Approach (소셜데이터 및 ARIMA 분석을 활용한 소비자 관점의 헬스케어 기술수요 예측 연구)

  • Prior studies on technology predictions attempted to predict the emergence and spread of emerging technologies through the analysis of correlations and changes between data using objective data such as patents and research papers. Most of the previous studies predicted future technologies only from the viewpoint of technology development. Therefore, this study intends to conduct technical forecasting from the perspective of the consumer by using keyword search frequency of search portals such as NAVER before and after the introduction of emerging technologies. In this study, we analyzed healthcare technologies into three types : measurement technology, platform technology, and remote service technology. And for the keyword analysis on the healthcare, we converted the classification of technology perspective into the keyword classification of consumer perspective. (Blood pressure and blood sugar, healthcare diagnosis, appointment and prescription, and remote diagnosis and prescription) Naver Trend is used to analyze keyword trends from a consumer perspective. We also used the ARIMA model as a technology prediction model. Analyzing the search frequency (Naver trend) over 44 months, the final ARIMA models that can predict three types of healthcare technology keyword trends were estimated as "ARIMA (1,2,1) (1,0,0)", "ARIMA (0,1,0) (1,0,0)", "ARIMA (1,1,0) (0,0,0)". In addition, it was confirmed that the values predicted by the time series prediction model and the actual values for 44 months were moving in almost similar patterns in all intervals. Therefore, we can confirm that this time series prediction model for healthcare technology is very suitable.

  • The advancement of digital technology has made changes in the fashion system and trend development process inevitable. This article clarifies changes in the modern fashion industry system and the causes of comprehensive changes that result from the development of digital technology. The methodology of this study is based on literature and case studies based on the information magazine most used by fashion industry workers. This study classifies fashion systems into 5 types and 14 types in detail. The study results indicate the way to change the fashion style trend schedule per year, fast/ultrafast fashion system, fashion rental system, DTC system and change of fashion system by consumer participation. The causes of the changes in fashion system are indicated that an increase of trend sensitivity due to an increase in the diffusion rate of information, expansion of expression of personality through digital network, increase of possibility of grouping of small number of tastes and change of prosumer possible changes in the environment. This study provides basic data on fashion system research and the construction of an appropriate response strategy for a changing environment.

The Characteristic of Eco-friendly Trend in Fabric since 2000 (2000년 이후 패션소재에 나타난 친환경 경향과 그 특징)

  • In 2000s, the interest of ROHAS has been increased and the environmental problem has begun to be discussed as the environmental and global value, not the individual perspective. And the standard of value for eco-friendly awareness has been expanded to the economic category. The trend of eco-friendly fabric can be divided into 3 periods depending on the property. The period for natural fabric with visual effects(2002~2004) can be summarized as the creation of natural shape using the natural image, the interaction of cotton and the technology from the visual perspective. In the period of functional conjunction with eco-friendliness and technology(2005~2008), the eco-friendly awareness through the conjunction of technology and nature and the re-cycling, and the responsibility to the environment had been increased. In the period of sustainable development for nature and environment(2009~2011), it showed the conjunction with nature and the integration with technology and eco-friendly issues. Therefore, the characteristic of eco-friendly trend in fabric since 2000 can be said; firstly, the high-quality fabric has been developed with technological development for the functional progress. Secondly, the ethical creativity has been displayed with the development and utilization of eco-friendly recycling materials. Thirdly, the materials reflected with eco-friendly issues have emerged.

  • As the ICT is an industry which is the basis of the technology convergence, it is the driving force of development for new business opportunities and existing industries. But, most of the existing studies for ICT convergence have identified the trend for convergence in technological terms. So, it is difficult to identify the convergence trend in the subject innovation perspective which leads the innovation activities In the ICT industry. The newly entered companies in the ICT industry are key indicators to identify the convergence trend. They have two specific characteristics that show the wide range of the convergence technology and the application rate of the convergence. Because previous studies did not take into account these two characteristics of the newly entered companies, so it is hard to analyze the exact convergence trend. Therefore, in this paper, we classify the patents for the ICT industry depending on the subject innovation. Then, we deduct the core convergence technology in the ICT industries and application area of the non-ICT industries.

Influence of Fashion Trend Forecasting on Korean Fashion System (국내 패션 시스템에서 패션 트렌드 정보 예측의 영향력)

  • This article surveys the fashion forecasting industry in Korean domestic markets. With the rise of new media and devices with high technology, the paradigm of fashion trends forecasting systems has dramatically changed. New perspectives of trend forecasting are required to understand the trend flow and consumer behavior of the MZ generation. The research questions are as follows: 1) Major trend forecasting companies studied the development of their strategies and new forecasting methods. 2) The consumers' needs in the domestic market were analyzed. The influence of the trend companies' forecasting on the market was investigated. The results are as follows: 1) International trend forecasting significantly affected the domestic market. The concordance rate between consumers' online searches about fashion trends was approximately 70.14%. The match rate by category is as follows: The highest rate, 85.06% is from pattern and print, color is 83.92%, the item is 80.39%, and style is 54.32%. 2) Specialized information such as the Pantone color chart is being widely consumed, leading to a trend among the masses. 3) The Korean-specific socio-cultural background has an impact on domestic trends.

  • Recently it is important to protect the digital contents copyright because the multimedia industry is growing rapidly and the network technology is highly developed. Current digital content protection methods have disadvantage that there is very hardly accessible to the digital contents and also it has a limit that it cannot protect the contents once the encrypted contents decrypt. In order to solve this problem, digital watermarking technology has been introduced. This study presents the trend of digital watermarking technology, especially standardization and the trend of digital watermarking algorithms.
