  • This paper investigated the information spillover effect between stock market and bond market with the KOSPI daily index and MMF yield data. The overall analysis period is from May 2, 1997 to August 30, 2019. The empirical analysis was conducted by dividing the period from May 2, 1997 to December 30, 2008 before the global financial crisis, and from December 30, 2008 to August 30, 2019 after the global financial crisis, and the overall analysis period. The analysis shows that the EGARCH model considering asymmetric variability is suitable. The price spillover effect and volatility spillover effect existed in both directions between the stock market and the bond market, and the price transfer effect was greater in the period before the global financial crisis than in the period after the global financial crisis. Asymmetric volatility in information between stock and bond markets appears to exist in both markets.

  • The main objective of this research is to examine the spillover effects of technological knowledge from IT industry to other industrial sectors and, based on empirical findings, to draw policy implications and suggest policy directions. To this end, we divide IT industry into IT equipment and IT service, assuming that these two sub-sectors are considerably different each other in terms of technology knowledge flow. Other industries are classified into 17 different sectors based on the KSIC of 1990. As the proxy measure of technological knowledge, the notion of R&D stock is employed. The Input/output(I/O) Table is used to define the inter-industrial flow pattern and to draw the knowledge flow matrix. As the research methodology, cost function model is employed to gauge the spillover effects of technological knowledge of IT industry. Based on the results of analysis, it is found that the economic impact of technology diffusion also exhibits a different pattern between IT equipment and IT service. The diffusion of IT equipment tends to show labor-substitution effect whereas IT service displays labor-creation effect. This fact should be considered in devising industry, education, and labor policy. The expectations from this research are as follows. First, the sectoral pattern, difference between IT equipment and service in particular, identified from this research may shed light on the sector-specific policy direction. It is emphasized that a sector-specific approach, rather than an aggregate approach, is relevant for formulating IT policy. Second, it is expected that the importance of technology diffusion programs and policy measures are recognized among policy makers in IT industry.

  • Policy planners in Asia readily covet high technology districts and regional systems of innovation such as Silicon Valley. We examine the law's role, by way of covenants not to compete (競業禁止條項) in the development of Silicon Valley by reviewing the literature from 1999 through 2013. The research suggests that in certain high-tech districts such as Silicon Valley, there are greater gains in the innovation of a region by prohibiting CNCs. While we emphasize CNC law as the main legal determinant to Silicon Valley's success, the application of trade secret law and the inevitable disclosure doctrine are also factors that can aid or restrict the mobility and knowledge spillover of a region. Even with much explored, perspectives are lacking from a regional innovation systems analysis, and more so in the context of Asian nations. To tackle these gaps, three analytical frameworks are presented that entails labor law, law and economics, and law and innovation. And from within the law and innovation framework, research is introduced in the hope that future discussions on Asian regional innovation systems consider the legal foundation of Silicon Valley.

  • This paper suggests a methodology for linking technology classification of nongovernmental information security field and technology classification of cyber-warfare in national defense field. Based on this methodology, Multi-Attribute Utility Theory(MAUT) is applied for the purpose of selecting promising nongovernmental technology that is worthy of later introduction or development. After studying the result of the survey regarding the research progression plan of the selected promising technology, the following three facts are discovered: Firstly, the greater the social spillover effect, the greater the need for the government lead R&D. Secondly, among the spillover effects, the social aspect has the highest correlation with respect to the need for the government lead R&D, while the economical aspect and the technological aspect come in the second and the third place, respectively. Finally, according to the correlation analysis, the defense application and the technological importance do not affect the subject of investment or the subject of development. This indicates that even though the R&D for technology with high social spillover effect should be lead by the government, the subject of the investment or the development cannot be determined solely by factors such as military application and technological importance.

  • This paper examines the spillover effect between Korea stock market and Chinese stock market according to increasing economic power of Chinese. Chinese stock market start the transaction one hour and half early than Korea stock market. Especially we focuses the response of Korea stock market after Chinese stock market starts. So we analyze the return an volatility of Korea stock market after 10:30. We employee daily and intraday stock return and volatility. The sample period ranges from January 2008 to April 2010 total 28 months. Our results show that the gap of open price between Korea and Chinese stock market affect the five minute return and volatility of Korea stock market but don't affect the ten minute return and volatility. Recently, this spillover effect has increased more and more. This shows the rapid increase of economic power of Chinese to affect the Korea capital market.

  • An electronic receipt (e-receipt) is a receipt issued electronically in place of a traditional paper receipt. This e-receipt, which can be accessed on a smartphone or online, allows for the exchange of goods, refunds, and other services without a paper receipt. The government is focusing on widespread dissemination of e-receipts to realize a society without paper by 2020. Introduction of the e-receipt has begun in mainly large marts and coffee shops, and recently, major franchise convenience stores. As a result, individual customer's transactions are being converted into electronic transactions, and the payment methods are changing to card-based electronic payment services or prepaid electronic payment services. The number of non-paper commercial transactions are also on the increase. In this paper, we try to identify the e-receipt industry ecosystem by analyzing the industries and markets participating in the process of receipt issuance from the perspectives of storage, management and disposal, and to analyze the domestic industrial and social economic effects expected from the spread of electronic receipts.

  • Based on the Knowledge Spillover Theory of Entrepreneurship, this study analyzes the relationship between technological entrepreneurship and national competitiveness. It also analyzes how innovation-driven economy moderates this relationship. Using data on technological entrepreneurship, national competitiveness indexes and economy development stages from 83 countries over 2011 to 2014, this study finds that a ratio of technology-based start-ups in a country has a U-shaped relationship with national competitiveness. this study also finds that countries that are in the innovation-driven economy strengthen this relationship. This finding shows that a higher ratio of technology-based start-ups of a country does not have unconditional positive effects on national competitiveness, thus, related environments and conditions should be elaborately matched. In particular, this finding also implies that policies related to technology-based start-ups should have a proper fit with the level of economic development of the country so that the positive effects of technological entrepreneurship on national competitiveness can be strengthened.
