We investigated the facile and effective strategy for sensitive and selective $C_2H_5OH$ sensors based on the In-decorated NiO nanoigloos. The In-decorated NiO nanoigloos is fabricated by RF sputtering using 750 nm-diameter polystyrene beads using a soft-template. The morphological evolution based on the Van der Drift model was generated through a heterojunction between In metal and NiO, resulting in a pyramidal rough surface. Upon decorating the In on the NiO surface, high sensitivity and selectivity to $C_2H_5OH$ were observed, and gas sensing mechanism was demonstrated by a high surface-to-volume and double Schottky barrier. We are confident that the method presented in this study will have a significant impact on the fabrication of effective nanostructures and their application for the gas sensors.
Coal samples with different joints morphology were subjected to uniaxial compression experiments, cracks evolution was recorded by Nikon D5300 and acoustic emission (AE) energy signals were collected by AEwin Test for Express-8.0. During loading process, coal samples deformed elastically with no obvious cracks changes, then they expanded gradually along the trace of the original cracks, accompanied by the formation of secondary cracks, and eventually produced a large-scale fracture. It was more interesting that the failure mode of samples were all shear shape, whatever the original cracks morphology was. With cracks and damage evolution, AE energy radiated regularly. At the early loading stage, micro damage and small scale fracture events only induced a few AE events with less energy, while large scale fracture leaded to a number of AE events with more energy at the later stage. Based on the multifractal theory, the multifractal spectrum could explain AE energy signals frequency responses and the causes of AE events with load. Multifractal spectrum width (${\Delta}{\alpha}$), could reflect the differences between the large and small AE energy signals. And another parameter (${\Delta}f$) could reflect the relationship between the frequency of the least and greatest signals in the AE energy time series. This research is helpful for us to understand cracks evolution and AE energy signals causes.
In this work we have managed to find parameters for defining athlete's aerobic and anaerobic thresholds. Thresholds which are of vital importance for top athletes. It is shown how differential evolution and different similarity measures has been used to tune computational model for threshold definitions. From our results it is obvious that the use of right parameter values for this kind expert system is of vital importance.
New experiments focusing on the evolution characteristics of nonlinear wave trains were conducted in a large wave flume. A series of wave trains with added sidebands, varying initial steepness, perturbed amplitudes and frequencies, were physically generated in a long wave flume. The experimental results show that the increasing wave steepness, increases the speed of sidebands growth. To study the frequency and phase modulation, the Morlet wavelet transform is adopted to extract the instantaneous frequency of wave trains and the phase functions of each wave component. From the instantaneous frequency, there are local frequency downshifts, even an effective frequency downshift was not observed. The frequency modulation increases with an increase in amplitude modulation, and abrupt changes of instantaneous frequencies occur at the peak modulation. The wrapped phase functions show that in the early stage of the modulation, the phase of the upper sideband first diverges from that of the carrier waves. However, at the later stage, the discrepancy phase from the carrier wave transformed to the lower sideband. The phase deviations appear in the front of the envelope's peaks. Furthermore, the evolution of the instantaneous frequency exhibits an approximate recurrence-type for the experiment with large imposed sidebands, even when the corresponding recurrence is not observed in the Fourier spectrum.
The electrochemical chlorine evolution reaction (CER) is an important electrochemical reaction and has been widely used in chlor-alkali electrolysis, on-site generation of ClO-, and Cl2-mediated electrosynthesis. Although precious metal-based mixed metal oxides (MMOs) have been used as CER catalysts for more than half a century, they intrinsically suffer from a selectivity problem between the CER and parasitic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Hence, the design of selective CER electrocatalysts is critically important. In this review, we provide an overview of the fundamental issues related to the electrocatalysis of the CER and design strategies for selective CER electrocatalysts. We present experimental and theoretical methods for assessing the active sites of MMO catalysts and the origin of the scaling relationship between the CER and the OER. We discuss kinetic analysis methods to understand the kinetics and mechanisms of CER. Next, we summarize the design strategies for new CER electrocatalysts that can enhance the reactivity of MMO-based catalysts and overcome their scaling relationship, which include the doping of MMO catalysts with foreign metals and the development of non-precious metal-based catalysts and atomically dispersed metal catalysts.

In the present work, a phase-field model was developed to investigate the influence of recrystallization on bubble evolution during irradiation. Considering the interaction between bubbles and grain boundary (GB), a set of modified Cahn-Hilliard and Allen-Cahn equations, with field variables and order parameters evolving in space and time, was used in this model. Both the kinetics of recrystallization characterized in experiments and point defects generated during cascade were incorporated in the model. The bubble evolution in recrystallized polycrystalline of U-Mo alloy was also investigated. The simulation results showed that GB with a large area fraction generated by recrystallization accelerates the formation and growth of bubbles. With the formation of new grains, gas atoms are swept and collected by GBs. The simulation results of bubble size and distribution are consistent with the experimental results.

To investigate the evolution of microstructure and texture in AZ31 Mg alloy, direct/indirect extrusion process was carried out at $300^{\circ}C$ with various extrusion speeds. The distribution of grain size depends on extrusion method and extrusion speed. More homogeneous grain site can be obtained at higher extrusion speed of indirect extrusion process. Extrusion speed does not affect significantly texture evolution during extrusion process regardless of extrusion method. ODF section is more useful to understand texture evolution during extrusion process compared with pole figure.

To investigate the evolution of deformation texture during cold rolling deformation, cold rolling process on a commercial Al-5% Mg sheet was carried out at different rolling reduction ratio. The evolution of annealing texture in cold-rolled Al-5% Mg sheet was also investigated. The evolution of recrystallization texture during annealing process strongly depends on the rolling reduction ratio before heat treatment. Visco-plastic self-consistent (VPSC) polycrystal model was used to predict r-value anisotropy of the cold-rolled and annealed Al-5% Mg sheets. The change of volume fraction for the major texture components was also analyzed.

The advance of All-IP digital convergence is now triggering fundamental changes in the media industry. This article analyzes the evolution of the media industry based on a value chain model, with a special emphasis placed on the impact of digital technology on the structure of media production, distribution, and consumption. As the Internet has evolved into an access channel for all forms of media, the boundaries of the media industry remain unclear and open thus enabling anyone to become a creator of media. Furthermore, the scope of media continues to become more dynamic as competition grows between older and more innovative forms of media. In this light, adapting to innovative technologies and more effectively meeting the needs of customers represent key factors for the continued evolution of the media.

Recently, a much amount of attention has been paid not only to produce products with precise dimensional accuracy, but also to predict and control the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of parts. Especially, to do the latter through computer simulation, the history of states factors influencing on these evolution such as temperature, strain, strain rate etc., should be calculated and a appropriate mathematical models for the prediction of microstructural evolution must be developed. Thus, in this study thermo-viscoplastic finite element program including the model for predicting microstructural has been developed. Also for the verification of developed program warm forging process for the rotor pole was simulated and the comparison between the results calculated and ones in the literature was made.
