Technology roadmap is a powerful tool that considers relationships of technology, product and market and referred as a supporting technology strategy and planning. There are numerous studies that have attempted to develop technology roadmap and case studies on specific technology areas. However, a number of studies have been dependant on brainstorming and discussion of expert group, delphi technique as qualitative analysis rather than systemic and quantitative analysis. To overcome the limitation, patent analysis considered as quite quantitative analysis is employed in this paper. Therefore, this paper proposes new technology roadmapping based on patent citation network considering technology life cycle and suggests planning for undeveloped technology but considered as promising. At first, patent data and citation information are collected and patent citation network is developed on the basis of collected patent information. Secondly, we investigate a stage of technology in the life cycle by considering patent application year and the technology life cycle, and duration of technology development is estimated. In addition, subsequent technologies are grouped as nodes of a super-level technology to show the evolution of the technology for the period. Finally, a technology roadmap is drawn by linking these technology nodes in a technology layer and estimating the duration of development time. Based on technology roadmap, technology planning is conducted to identify undeveloped technology through text mining and this paper suggests characteristics of technology that needs to be developed in the future. In order to illustrate the process of the proposed approach, technology for hydrogen storage is selected in this paper.

The wide use of Information Technology(IT), especially the rapid diffusion of the internet, brings us a new paradigm, called "Electronic Commerce", or "Digital Economy." The paradigm is regarded as a business strategy essential to organization's competitive advantage. Because very few studies have been performed in the area of e-strategy, especially in the combined strategy of clicks and mortars, a research on this area is needed. The main questions of this study are empirically to validate the usefulness and the applicability of a decision roadmap and to analyze the situation of Korean firms based on the decision roadmap. Major results of this study are as follows; First, there is an evidence that the roadmap can be applied to firms regardless of its industry and size. Second, usefulness of the roadmap is proved since companies that followed the prescription of the decision roadmap showed high degree of satisfaction with online sales amount. Third, Korean firms in general do not achieve the ideal degree of integration (or separation), especially in terms of management and operation. In conclusion, this study provides e-business strategy planners some guidelines about how to achieve right mix of on-line and off-line business.
The purpose of the current study is to suggest a reliable starting point for roadmapping to overcome two common shortcomings of previous literatures that they do not demonstrate a robust methodology for roadmap and they describe the roadmapping process in the abstract. The proposed methodology for roadmapping considers four important business- and market-related factors: consumer requirements, engineering characteristics, the gap between the roadmapped technology and competing technologies, and future changes in consumer preferences. We capture consumer preferences using conjoint analysis and interconnect the above four factors using QFD (Quality Function Deployment). The model is applied to power line communications (PLC). The results show that there is a significant difference between priorities assigned to the engineering characteristics by expert alone and priorities determined by the roadmapping model.

We The 4th industrial revolution, the core characteristics of super-intelligence, hyper-connective, and ultrareality, has been actualized. New technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and high-tech video have begun to be applied to media and advertising. With the introduction of new technologies in the advertising field, innovative changes in advertising types, advertising effects, advertising methods, and advertising contents are expected. Accordingly, We intends to design a future advertising roadmap development by predicting how future advertising will change and develop through future technologies in the 4th industrial revolution era. To design the roadmap, this study analyzes changes in advertising technology, consumer, and media as changes in the advertising environment in the 4th industrial revolution era, and identifies the core changing trends, advertising factors in future advertising through the Delphi Survey on experts in advertising and future fields. We identifies how the future advertising technology, types, media, effects, and fields are developed by the changes of future advertising environments, including technology, consumers, and media in the 4th industrial revolution era. Hence it is expected to help the advertising industry and experts to prepare for future changes.

To make the research and development in IoT networks witness a significant improvement and last for a long period, it is always important to attract new researchers to work on this area and be a part of it. The best way to attract researchers to work in any research area and have their interest is to give them a clear background and roadmap about it. In this way, researchers can easily find a deep point to start their research based on their interest. This paper presents an overview and roadmap about IoT technologies from the most five vital aspects: IoT architecture, communication technologies, type of IoT applications, IoT applications protocols and IoT challenges.

To strengthen competences, most of firms have co-operated with external partners. This increases the possibility of unexpected conflicts between firms due to the intellectual property litigation. A suitable intellectual property strategy for firms has to be developed to settle this issue. This study aims to analyze an utilization of intellectual property strategy in firms, and tries to suggest a concept of IP roadmap to support intellectual property strategy planning aligned with technology planning process. For the purposes, we derive five types of intellectual property strategy of firms using Korea Innovation Survey. Then, we explore significant affecting factors using a decision-tree and conduct in-depth analysis for them. Lastly, we suggest a concept of IP roadmap, which can be a supporting tool for developing intellectual property strategy in firms, based on analysis results.

The objectives of this study were to introduce the easiest and most proper applications of datamining in industrial processes. Applying datamining in manufacturing is very different from applying it in marketing. Misapplication of datamining in manufacturing system results in significant problems. Therefore, it is very important to determine the best procedure and technique in advance. In previous studies, related literature has been introduced, but there has not been much description of datamining applications. Research has not often referred to descriptions of particular examples dealing with application problems in manufacturing. In this study, a datamining roadmap was proposed to support datamining applications for industrial processes. The roadmap was classified into three stages, and each stage was categorized into reasonable classes according to the datamining purposed. Each category includes representative techniques for datamining that have been broadly applied over decades. Those techniques differ according to developers and application purposes; however, in this paper, exemplary methods are described. Based on the datamining roadmap, nonexperts can determine procedures and techniques for datamining in their applications.
The space industry is a comprehensive and technology-intensive industry involving different converging technologies. However, most of the companies in Korea's space industry are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and need to strengthen global capacity to export their products. However, the link between the destination country and the product remains insufficient. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to propose an export roadmap for space products to provide SMEs with export opportunities and strategic guidelines. For this, technology roadmap and portfolio analysis are applied to this purpose. This study is expected to be helpful to SMEs and government agencies.
The Korean government proposed the K-SDGs in 2019 to promote the UN SDGs, but the role and tasks of science and technology, an important means of implementing the SDGs, have not been materialized. Accordingly, the role of science and technology ODA for the SDGs was established through the Ministry of Science and ICT's policy research project 'Science and Technology ODA Promotion Roadmap for Spreading the New Southern Policy and Realizing the 2030 SDGs'. In addition, goals, strategies, and core tasks for the next 10 years were derived in 10 fields such as water, climate change, energy, and ICT. In this paper, we analyze 30 key tasks of the ODA promotion roadmap for science and technology for the realization of SDGs, and propose mid- and short-term tasks and implementation plans for effective roadmap promotion. Among the key tasks in each field, four common elements were derived: ICT/smartization, a global problem-solving center, cooperation/communication platform, and business model/startup support platform/living lab that can create and integrate roadmap implementation conditions. In addition, the four mid- and short-term tasks, 1) Establishment of science and technology ODA network, 2) Establishment of living lab business platform linked to start-up support business, 3) Local smartization of recipient countries, and 4) Expand and secure sustainability of global problem-solving centers, were set in relation to the implementation of the detailed roadmap. For the derived mid- and short-term tasks, detailed implementation plans based on the ICTization of global problem-solving centers were presented. The implementation of the mid- and short-term tasks presented in this paper can contribute to the more effective achievement of the science and technology ODA roadmap, and it is expected that Korea's implementation of SDGs will also achieve high performance.
