무기체계개발에서 작전운용성능을 만족시키기 위한 개선된 시스템성숙도 평가방법 (On an Improved Method for System Readiness Assesment to Meet Required Operational Capability in Weapon Systems Development)

  • 현대 무기체계는 첨단화와 복잡성의 증가로 시스템개발 실패 사례가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 사례분석결과 원인은 원래의 시스템 운용개념을 충족시키지 못하거나 미성숙 기술의 적용 등으로 파악되었다. 이에 방위사업청에서는 무기체계개발시 핵심요구성능으로서 작전운용성능의 충족을 요구하고 있다. 한편 시스템개발시의 위험관리 방법중의 하나로서 기술성숙도 평가가 사용되어 왔는데, 이것은 개별기술에 대한 평가방법이므로, 시스템 수준에서의 기술간 통합에 대해서는 미흡하다. 이를 보완하기 위해 시스템 성숙도 평가 모델이 제시되었고, 이와는 별도로 시스템개발의 난이도의 도입을 통한 리스크 관리 모델이 제시되었다. 하지만 기술간 통합의 효과와 시스템개발 난이도를 동시에 고려한 모델은 제시되지 않았다. 또한 무기체계개발의 궁극적인 목표인 작전운용성능 충족의 관점에서 도출된 평가모델은 제시되지 못하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 무기체계개발에서 작전운용성능을 충족시키면서 리스크 관리를 수행하기 위한 방법으로, 요소기술간 통합과 시스템개발 난이도를 동시에 고려한 시스템 성숙도 평가 모델을 구축하였다. 또한 무기체계 연구개발단계에서 개선된 시스템 성숙도 평가모델을 적용할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

  • Given recent accidents involving autonomous vehicles, driver monitoring technology related to the transition of control in autonomous vehicles is gaining prominence. Driver status monitoring systems recognize the driver's level of alertness and identify possible impairments in the driving ability owing to conditions including drowsiness and distraction. In autonomous vehicles, predictive factors for the transition to manual driving should also be included. During traditional human driving, monitoring the driver's status is relatively straightforward owing to the consistency of crucial cues, such as the driver's location, head orientation, gaze direction, and hand placement. However, monitoring becomes more challenging during autonomous driving because of the absence of direct manual control and the driver's engagement in other activities, which may obscure the accurate assessment of the driver's readiness to intervene. Hence, safety-ensuring technology must be balanced with user experience in autonomous driving. We explore relevant global and domestic regulations, the new car assessment program, and related standards to extract requirements for driver status monitoring. This kind of monitoring can both enhance the autonomous driving performance and contribute to the overall safety of autonomous vehicles on the road.

The Identification of Emerging Technologies of Automotive Semiconductor

  • As the paradigm of future vehicles changes, the interest in automotive semiconductor, which plays a key role in realizing this, is increasing. Automotive semiconductors are the technology with very high entry barriers that require a lot of effort and time because it must secure technology readiness level and also consider safety and reliability. In this technology field, it is very important to develop new businesses and create opportunities through technology trend analysis. However, systematic analysis and application of automotive semiconductor technology trends are currently lacking. In this paper, U.S. registered patent documents related to automotive semiconductor were collected and investigated based on the patent's IPC. The main technology of automotive semiconductor was analyzed through topic modeling, and the technology path such as emerging technology was investigated through cosine similarity. We identified that those emerging technologies such as driving control for vehicle and AI service appeared. We observed that as time passed, both convergence and independence of automotive semiconductor technology proceeded simultaneously.

  • 산학협력은 국가경쟁력 강화를 위해 필요한 정책이나 기업 수요가 지속적으로 감소하고 있어 산학협력 활동이 위축받고 있다. 특히 산학협력의 범위를 일부로 한정하여 판단함으로서 전문직업인 양성을 위해 노력하는 전문대학이 일반대학에 비하여 산학협력에 기여하는 바가 미흡하다는 인식이 있고 이것은 전문대학 산학협력 활성화를 저해하고 있다. 전문대학 산학협력을 활성화하기 위해서는 기업 수요를 정확히 파악하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 본 연구는 기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 3D 프린팅과 전문대학 졸업생의 활동분야를 비교분석하여 3D 프린팅을 활용한 전문대학 산학협력 활성화 방안을 제안한다. 그리고 전문대학과 일반대학의 주요역할을 기술사업화 절차에 따라 기업 수요를 분석하여 기업과 전문대학 그리고 일반대학의 협력모델을 제안한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to improve the level of acceptance of related technologies and the transition to smart factories of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises by using 'technology readiness' and 'integrated technology acceptance model'. To this end, the research hypothesis was verified by collecting questionnaire data from 130 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in Korea and conducting path analysis. Overcoming the Hurdles of Transition: Middle School Students' Engagement in Distance Instruction During the COVID-19 Pandemic in South Korea

  • The study aimed to qualitatively examine middle school students' engagement in distance instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants comprised 119 students from a girls' middle school in Seoul, South Korea. To gain an in-depth understanding of the students' experiences, we collected their reflective journals, which included structured items about their learning engagement at three timepoints in 2020: April, July, and December. The following are the results: 10 themes and 18 concepts were derived, and they were integrated into causal conditions (sudden transition due to COVID-19), contextual condition (technology readiness, school education context), central phenomena (high level of behavioral engagement, low emotional engagement), interventional conditions (recognizing the potential of online learning, situational awareness about COVID-19 and online learning), action/interaction phenomena (development and use of self-regulated learning strategies), and consequences (changes in practices and perception towards online learning). Based on the findings, engagement patterns of the participants were classified into five types: proactive, conservative, receptive, reactive, passive learners. The present study demonstrated important findings that are essential for the improvement and development of engaging online learning strategies in the future.

신뢰성 기반 한국군 차기 상륙돌격장갑차 발전방향 (Development Direction of Reliability-based ROK Amphibious Assault Vehicles)

  • A plan for the development of reliability-based ROK amphibious assault vehicles is proposed. By analyzing the development case of the U.S. EFV, considerations for the successful development of the next-generation Korea Forces amphibious assault vehicle are presented. If the vehicle reliability can be improved to the level of the fourth highest priority electric unit for power units, suspensions, decelerators, and body groups, which have the highest priority among fault frequency items, a system level MTBF of 36.4%↑ can be achieved, and the operational availability can be increased by 3.5%↑. The next-generation amphibious assault vehicles must fulfill certain operating and performance requirements, the underlying systems must be built, and sequencing of the hybrid engine and the modular concept should be considered. Along with big-data- and machine-learning-based failure prediction, machine maintenance based on augmented reality/virtual reality and remote maintenance should be used to improve the ability to maintain combat readiness and reduce lifecycle costs.

  • The KSLV-II project with high difficulties technically requires thorough technical management during long-term life cycle more than 10 years for launching into space. The TRL is a quantitative indicator developed by NASA widely used all over the world to measure technology maturity of a system development objectively and consistently. The TRL is also used to make sure technology level and to establish a future direction in the KSLV-II project. The TRL has advantage enable to identify a technology level through quantitative indicators. However, it takes a lot of efforts such as trials and errors, time and cost to apply it to the project considering the project environments, and stakeholder needs. These include not only to establish TRL management plan from ideal, conceptual and abstractive standards/guidelines such as NASA's, but also to construct TRL management environment enable to apply and manage harmoniously. In the KSLV-II project, it is required to figure out current technology level and technology development trend in the future, to access conveniently, to share related data in real time, and to update periodically for the comprehensive TRL management. From the reason above, the TRL management environment was built by using the systems engineering tool already has been used for other system management data such as requirements in the project. It also could be accomplished a practical management basis of systems engineering from the traceability among system management data including TRL. In this paper, case study results are introduced to manage the TRL for the space launch vehicle using the systems engineering tool in the KSLV-II project.

국방 연구개발사업의 의사결정 지원을 위한 시스템 성숙도 평가 모델 개발 (Development of the System Technical Maturity Assessment Model for Defense R&D Programs Decision Support)

  • This paper proposes a novel appoach which can assess the system technical maturity for use in Defense R&D Program reviews. As the weapon systems become more complicated, the success and effectiveness of R&D outcome heavily depend on the application and tailoring of systems engineering process and methods. It is a difficult task to assess the system readiness level(SRL) of the system being developed. A system-focused approach for managing weapon systems development and making effective and efficient decisions during the development lifecycle is critical to ensure the success of the program. The proposed weighted average SRL can facilitate the system technical maturity assessment without expending heavy work load.

  • 핵연료주기 분석 연구는 핵연료주기 단계에서 기술들을 분석하고 요건들을 도출하여 국가적 핵연료주기 정책 설정 및 추진을 체계적으로 수행하기 위한 연구이다. 시스템 분석 기술은 대상 시스템의 비교 분석 평가에 활용되며 핵연료주기를 대상으로 하는 경우 각 국가 또는 관심 범위에 따라 다양한 방법이 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 국내 선진 핵연료주기 개발을 위해 필요한 핵연료주기 분석 전략과 함께 이를 위해 사용될 수 있는 분석 기술들을 제시하였다. 핵연료주기 분석은 전략적으로 기술적 분석, 국내외 이해관계, 국가 에너지 프로그램과 연계되어야 한다. 이를 위해 다양한 핵연료주기를 비교하여 제시된 평가 지표에 따라 분석하는 연구는 트레이드 연구 방법을 적용하여 수행할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통한 조사 분석 결과 핵연료주기 분석 전략과 함께 방법적 측면에서 트레이드 연구가 선진 핵연료주기 도출에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 파악되었다. 트레이드 연구에 필수적인 평가지표를 선정하고 각 지표별 핵연료주기에 대한 정보를 얻기 위해서는 기술성숙도 분석 방법과 핵연료주기 시뮬레이터를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 제시하였다. 이들은 핵연료주기의 기술성, 경제성, 환경영향성 등을 비교 평가하여 기술개발을 위한 방향을 제시하고 체계적인 선진 핵연료주기 도출 및 실현에 기여할 것이다.
