It seems required to determine what might affect the technological innovation activities of manufacturing companies and what kind of role they could play for them to carry out technological innovation activities in an effective way. The objective of the present study is thus to conduct a depth empirical analysis of the structural relations among business environment, technological innovation activities and performance of manufacturing companies. From the analysis, following outcomes could be drawn: First, with regard to the relationship between business environment and technological innovation activities of manufacturing companies, it has become clear that the external environment is a factor that can influence technological innovation activities such as management of technical property, technological innovation system as well as technical network, while it exercises no impact upon adaptation of manufacturers to new technologies. The internal environment, on the other hand, turns out to have influence on such overall factors of technological innovation activities as management of technical property, technological innovation system, adaptation to new technologies and technical network; and Second, as for the relationship between technological innovation activities and their performance, it has been obvious that management of technical property and technological innovation system, both factors of technological innovation activities, affect the performance of product development and financial achievements of manufacturing companies. Their adaptation to new technologies will also affect their performance of product development as well as financial achievements. These findings suggest that it is important for manufacturing companies to set up an operating system that may be able to upgrade the practical applicability of their technological development activities in an attempt to promote performance of their technological innovation activities.

본 연구는 그동안 기술혁신 활동이 자체 기업 또는 조직, 인적 구성원의 역량과 활동 방법에 따라 다름에도 불구하고 이의 실행에 대한 혁신저항을 적극 고려하지 않았던 기존 연구의 한계를 보완하여 기업의 기술혁신 역량과 활동이 조직 내 혁신저항과 성과에 미치는 영향력이 어느 정도 차이가 있는지 이를 밝히는데 목적을 갖고 국내 IT, BT기업 293개사를 대상으로 실증 조사하였다. 그 결과를 보면 첫째, 가설1의 기업의 기술혁신 역량이 기술혁신 저항에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 채택되었다. 둘째, 가설2의 기술혁신 활동은 기술혁신 저항에 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 않아 기각되었다. 셋째, 기술혁신 저항은 기술혁신 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 채택되었다. 넷째, 기술혁신 저항은 기술혁신 역량과 기술혁신 성과 사이에 매개 효과는 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 채택되었다. 다섯째, 기술혁신 저항은 기술혁신 활동과 기술혁신 성과 사이에 매개효과는 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 않아 기각되었다. 전체적으로 기술혁신 역량이 높을수록 기술혁신 저항에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 상관성을 갖고 기술혁신 저항 또한 저항 정도에 따라 기술혁신 역량과 성과를 증진 또는 저하시킬 수 있음을 시사해 주었다.

Purposes: This study explored the difference analysis of financial performance and technological innovation according to the ESG management activities of healthcare companies based on the time before and after the mandatory ESG management reporting of listed Chinese healthcare companies in China. Methodology: This study collected ESG management activities, corporate financial performance, and technological innovation data of Chinese listed healthcare companies by using Bloomberg Database and China-listed company reports to collect data for analyzing differences between groups through T-test. Findings: ESG activities in the healthcare industry have a certain impact on corporate financial performance, but have no impact on corporate technological innovation. Like the world trend, the ESG activities and financial results of China's healthcare industry have shown a positive development direction in recent years, and ESG scores are rising. Practical Implication: Since 2018, ESG activities in China's healthcare industry have flourished, and ESG activities and financial performance have developed in a positive direction.

Purpose: This study addressed the relationship between technological innovation activity and management efficiency of Korean automobile firms. We tested the hypothesis of non-liner relationship of innovation activity in relation to management efficiency. Methods: We discussed prior literature in the firm innovation strategy and management efficiency studies to provide better understanding of relationships between technological innovation activity and management efficiency. As a result, we developed develop and tested a model (Inverted-U shaped) capturing the non-linear impact of technological innovation activity. While we used R&D expenditure and patent registration data for measuring firms' innovation activity, management efficiency was evaluated by using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). Results: Main findings of our empirical analysis indicated that the relationships between technological innovation activity and management efficiency was inverted U shaped. This implied that the relationship between technological innovation and management efficiency is inverted U-shaped non-linear, with management efficiency increasing up to a point, beyond which higher levels of R&D and patent registration activities led to a decrease in management efficiency. Conclusion: This study empirically assessed the inconclusive findings of previous research in the area of effects of innovation activities in relation to firm performance. The paper also provided theoretical and practical implications for firms who explore efficient strategy to promote the management performance through technological innovation activities. Future research directions with the limitation of the study was discussed.

본 연구는 기술혁신 역량을 강화하기 위한 중요한 프레임워크로 논의되고 있는 개방형 혁신에 초점을 맞춰 개방형 혁신활동을 내향형 혁신활동과 외향형 혁신활동을 구분하고, 영향요인을 환경특성, 기업특성, 재도특성으로 분류하여 국내 149개 제조기업의 설문응답 내용을 토대로 실증분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 환경특성 요인의 경우 시장경쟁정도와 기술변화정도가 내향형 혁신활동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 기업들이 시장경쟁정도가 심해지거나 기술변화정도가 높아질 경우, 자사의 기술 개발 촉진 및 시장에서의 우위를 유지하거나 선점하기 위하여 공동연구, 사용자 혁신 등 외부로부터의 기술도입 및 외부의 정보활용에 노력을 기울인다는 의미로 해석될 수 있다. 기업특성 요인의 경우, 내향형 혁신활동은 연구개발인력, 연구개발투자, 국제화사업건수, 해외수출, 조직문화 개방성에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 외향형 혁신활동은 국제화조직특성, 기업가정신(역량특성)에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 기업들이 내향형 혁신활동을 강화하기 위해서는 우선적으로 연구인력, 연구비 등의 R&D 투입요소의 증대에 관심을 갖아야 됨을 의미하며, 반면 외향형 혁신활동을 높이기 위해서는 국제화 전담조직을 육성하며, CEO도 독자적인 내부 기술혁신활동에 기업가정신을 발휘하기 보다는 개방적이고 협력적인 기술혁신활동에 기업가정신을 집중해야 됨을 의미한다. 제도특성 요인의 경우 내향형 혁신활동에서는 기술네트워킹에 의해, 외향형 혁신활동의 경우 산업클러스터 입주여부 및 기술네트 워킹에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 정부에서 제도적으로 개방형 혁신활동을 촉진시키기 위해서는 산업클러스터 조성과 기업들의 기술네트워킹 확대에 노력을 기울여야 함을 의미한다.

KIPRIS patent database was analyzed for identifying the technological status of Daedeok Innopolis Biocluster. It was found that the pattern of activities among various technological areas in Daedeok Biocluster is similar to that of an advanced country rather than those of other cities in Korea. The technological growth in Daedeok Innopolis Biocluster is in the progressive stage, which may be due to the innovative activities rather than the rise in the number of new firms or institutes. The concentration of technology in Daedeok Innopolis Biocluster is a favorable condition for the innovation activities. The trend for the technological concentration was remarkably consistent with the growth curve that a population increases according to the logistic equation. The logistic growth may be represented by the result of competition due to the limited resource allocation and then innovation cluster is corresponding to the ecosystem composed by biological individuals. There is strong competition in Daedeok Innopolis Biocluster in around 2009, so the government might make a policy to encourage the technological diversity for healthy knowledge ecosystem.

본 연구에서는 혁신저항관리활동 요소에 대하여 알아보고, 이러한 혁신저항관리활동이 기술혁신활동 및 혁신성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 한다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 혁신저항관리활동으로는 구성원의 참여, 체계적 제도, 원활한 의사소통, 경영관리 등 총 4가지 요소가 있음을 확인하였을 뿐만 아니라 독립변수와 종속변수 측정항목을 개발하였다. 그리고 300개 제조업자를 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하여 분석자료를 확보하였다. 구조방정식모델 분석결과 혁신저항관리활동의 하위변수인 구성원의 참여, 체계적 제도, 경영관리는 기술혁신활동에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있으나, 원활한 의사소통은 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 혁신저항관리활동(구성원의 참여, 체계적인 제도, 원활한 의사소통, 경영관리)은 혁신성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있다. 마지막으로 기술혁신활동은 혁신성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 기업이 높은 혁신성과를 위해서는 혁신저항 관리활동을 적절히 수행할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to identify in two aspects the relationship between standardization activities and technological development at the firm level. The first aspect is to analyze the relationship between the current Korean industrial standards system and the firm's technological development vis-a-vis quality standards. The analysis reveals that even if Korean firms recognize the importance of standards, the level of product quality of the KS mark is still lower compared to the average world level. The survey also reveals that the reasons for acquiring ISO and KS marks are mainly aimed at enforcing company image and increasing quality management mind, rather than to foster technological innovation. The second aspect explores how much Korean industrial standards (KS marks) affect the firm's technological development in the Process of standards acquisition activities. The survey results show that standardization activities have a less positive impact on technological innovation than on the maintenance of consistent production works.

내부 연구개발 같은 공식적인 연구개발 활동은 기술혁신을 견인하는 중요한 요소로 인식되어 왔으나, 직무훈련, 진보된 생산기술의 도입, 디자인 활동 같은 다양한 부대적인 혁신 관련 활동들도 기술혁신 성과를 제고하는데 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본고는 이러한 비공식적인 연구개발 활동 여부가 기업의 기술혁신 도입에 차이를 가져오는지, 공식적인 연구개발 활동 중심 집단과 비공식적인 연구개발 활동 중심 집단 사이에 기술혁신 도입 차이가 있는지를 2012년 한국 기술혁신 활동 조사 데이터를 사용하여 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과, 비공식적인 연구개발 활동이 공정혁신 도입에 유의한 차이를 유발할 수 있으며, 내부 연구개발 활동에만 집중하는 기업보다, 디자인 마케팅 같은 비공식적인 연구개발 활동을 함께 추진하는 기업들이 제품혁신을 더 활발히 도입하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 (1) 혁신주체들이 공식적인 연구개발 활동과 함께 비공식적인 연구개발 관련 활동에도 관심을 기울여야 하며, (2) 정부의 혁신지원정책도 이러한 점을 감안하여 수립되어야 함을 정책적 시사점으로 제시하였다.

This study examines the changing patterns of technological cooperation activities along technological development stages. Based on the longitudinal sample of 58 small and medium-sized companies in telecommunication equipment and device sectors, proposed hypotheses are tested using paired comparison t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Major findings of this study are as follows. Along technological development stages, (1) patterns of technological cooperation activities differ in terms of the extent and diversity of use, partners, method, and motivation and (2) the impact of specific forms of technological cooperation activities on the firm's technological innovation varies. In addition, some managerial and policy implications are presented and future research directions are suggested.
