  • A standard engineering model that reflects the current organization system and engineering operation process of domestic nuclear power plants was developed based on the Standard Nuclear Performance Model developed by the American Nuclear Energy Association. The level 0 screen, which is the main screen of the engineering model computer system, consisted of an object tree structure, which provided information that is phased down from a higher structure level to a lower structure level (i.e., level 3). The level 1 screen provided information related to the sub-process of the engineering operation, whereas the Level 2 screen provided information related to each engineering operation activity. In addition, the Level 2 screen provided additional functions, such as linking electronic procedures/guidelines, providing electronic performance forms, and connecting legacy computer systems (such as total equipment reliability monitoring system, configuration management systems, technical information systems, risk monitoring systems, regulatory information, and electronic drawing system). This screen level increased the convenience of user's engineering tasks by implementing them. The computerization of an engineering model that connects the entire engineering tasks of an establishment enables the easy understanding of information related to the engineering process before and after the operation, and builds a foundation for the enhancement of the work efficiency and employee capacity. In addition, KHNP developed an online training module, which operates as an e-learning process, on the overview and utilization of a standard engineering model to expand the understanding of standard engineering models by plant employees and to secure competitiveness.

  • Purpose: Reduced port laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (RPLDG) using 3 ports is less invasive than conventional laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (CLDG) using 5 ports. Although RPLDG performed by expert surgeons is safe and feasible, novice surgeons have difficulty performing this procedure. This study evaluated the surgical outcomes and feasibility of RPLDG performed by a novice surgeon. Materials and Methods: The records of 136 patients who underwent laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer performed by a single novice surgeon between May 2016 and December 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Among these 136 patients, 52 underwent RPLDG and 84 underwent CLDG. The clinicopathological characteristics, operative outcomes, and short-term postoperative outcomes of the 2 groups were compared. Results: The percentage of women was significantly higher in the RPLDG group than in the CLDG group (48.1% vs. 31%; P=0.045), but other baseline characteristics did not differ significantly between the groups. Billroth II anastomosis was performed significantly more frequent (90.4% vs. 73.8%, P=0.015) and operation time was significantly shorter (207.1±43.3 min vs. 225.5±44.6 min, P=0.020) in the RPLDG group than in the CLDG group. The time to first flatus, postoperative pain score, length of postoperative hospital stay, and incidence and severity of complications did not differ significantly between the groups. Analysis of the learning curve based on the operation time showed that performing RPLDG on 20-30 patients was required to achieve technical proficiency. Conclusions: RPLDG is a safe and feasible surgical procedure for the treatment of gastric cancer, even when performed by a novice surgeon.

  • With the increase in cases of using Bluetooth devices used in the electric vehicle charging systems, security issues are also raised. Although various technical efforts have beed made to enhance security of bluetooth technology, various attack methods exist. In this paper, we propose an intelligent Bluetooth intrusion detection system based on a well-known machine learning method, Hidden Markov Model, for the purpose of detecting intelligently representative Bluetooth attack methods. The proposed approach combines packet types of H4, which is bluetooth transport layer protocol, and the transport directions of the packet firstly to represent the behavior of current traffic, and uses the temporal deployment of these combined types as the final input features for detecting attacks in real time as well as accurate detection. We construct the experimental environment for the data acquisition and analysis the performance of the proposed system against obtained data set.

  • Purpose: Although the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course is now taught internationally, it has not been implemented in Korea. In recent years, interest has increased in simulation as a teaching tool in the ATLS course. We therefore hypothesized that simulation training would be a useful adjunct to the ATLS course. Methods: We designed a 1-day curriculum that included skill development workstations, expert lectures, trauma patient simulations, and group discussion for general surgery residents. We conducted a survey to evaluate participants' level of understanding of the initial evaluation and treatment of trauma patients, their degree of knowledge and technical improvement, their satisfaction with the learning goals, and their overall satisfaction with the curriculum. We then analyzed the effects before and after the training. Results: Nine residents attended this course. None of the residents initially reported that they could perform a primary survey of trauma patients. The analysis revealed significant improvements after training in the questionnaire areas of "assembly of the team and preparation for resuscitation of a trauma patient" (p=0.008), "performance of a primary survey for trauma patients" (p=0.007), "resuscitative procedures for trauma patients" (p=0.008), "importance of re-evaluation" (p=0.007), "identifying the pitfalls associated with the initial assessment and management" (p=0.007), and "importance of teamwork" (p=0.007). Conclusions: After the ATLS simulation training, all participants showed significant improvements in their understanding of how to manage multiple trauma patients. Therefore, ATLS simulation training for residents will help in the management of trauma patients.

  • With the development of technology, the concept of digital literacy is expanding from the focus of function and tool utilization to the extent of communication and participation in social and cultural contexts. In particular, learners' digital literacy capabilities are more important and necessary in remote learning environments such as Corona19. In this study, we studied how to improve digital literacy education through analysis and inspection of digital literacy shown in elementary school textbooks. To this end, we analyze it through compliance consisting of 8 fundamental pieces of knowledge, 20 sub technical skills, and 10 keys of competencies that constitute digital literacy. As a result of the study, the contents of digital literacy education in elementary school textbooks were presented centered on functions and tools, and as they were biased in certain areas, they were found to be lacking in systematicity and connectivity. Therefore, it proposed the composition of the curriculum system of digital literacy through the independence of elementary informatics curriculum, the specific composition of curriculum, and the strengthening of pre-service teachers' practical skills.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the current status of online classes and evaluations during the COVID-19 pandemic and the satisfaction of students attending the College of Korean Medicine. A survey was conducted with students enrolled in Dongguk University's College of Korean Medicine. The questionnaire was divided into four areas asking about online lectures, laboratory practice, clinical practice, and evaluation experience. The items were composed of multiple-choice, a 5-point scale, and subjective type. After distributing the Google form address through SNS and LMS, only those who agreed to the questionnaire were responded anonymously. 149 out of 457 enrolled students responded. 98.7% of students experienced online lectures, and more frequently experienced real-time online lectures (98.6%) than recorded lectures (43.5%). Overall satisfaction with online lectures was 3.99 on average. 80.5% of the students experienced the online experiment and practice class, and the overall satisfaction with it was 3.29 on average. 1.3% of students experienced online clinical practice. 86.6% of students experienced online evaluation, and when asked about the fairness of the test, the average score was 3.99. Satisfaction with online lectures and evaluations is generally high, so it is expected to be used as an effective learning tool in the future. However, it seems that facility improvement and technical training of instructors are necessary. In experimental and practical education, the satisfaction level is lower than that of online lectures, so it seems necessary to develop a new online program and to prepare a safe offline education system.
