The bimolecular inhibition rate constants of carbofuran and N-dimethylphosphinothioyl carbofuran(PSC) to acetylcholinesterase(AChE) were $7.7{\times}10^{5}\;M^{-1}{\cdot}min^{-1}$ and $1.2{\times}10^{3}\;M^{-1}{\cdot}min^{-1}$, respectively. These results showed that PSC required a bioactivation process for its toxic action because it didn't inhibit the target enzyme effectively. The potency of PSC as an inhibitor of AChE increased when PSC and AChE were incubated with microsomes fortified with NADPH compared with microsome alone. Piperonyl butoxide(PBO) addition to these coupled systems greatly reduced the inhibition of the target enzyme by blocking the bioactivation process. In vivo inhibition study of mouse brain AChE, $I_{50}$ value for AChE was 28 mg/kg for PSC and the value increased to 57 mg/kg when PBO was pretreated. This result showed that cytochrome $P_{450}$ would also play a role in the bioactivation process of PSC in vivo. And conversioin of carbofuran from PSC was 55 % in a chemical oxidation system using meta-chloroperoxybenzoic acid. The oxidative activation of PSC to carbofuran was shown to be essential for showing its toxicological action and cytochrome $P_{450}$ was identified as an important enzyme which participated in this process.
Most pharmaceutical licensing deals are made in the early stage of drug development. While this development process is not unique for complicated technology, a special feature of drug development is that it is highly regulated and a well-defined process. Its statistics in terms of costs and chances of technical success have been researched extensively. This enables relatively detailed calculations as benchmarks for actual deals to be made. Based on such calculations and on the analysis of licensing terms in published agreements, various companies offer quite expensive information, databases, software programs and consultation services to help establish what might be reasonable economic terms in a licensing deal. Over the years, pharmaceutical royalties have been the subject of various articles in journals. Most specific on this subject was the article on determining pharmaceutical royalties. Many other articles are about a more general nature deal with determining reasonable royalty rates, evaluating and underpinning the empirical value and usefulness of the 25% rule. The object of this article is to provide a relatively simple analytical approach based on the major economic terms underlying pharmaceutical licensing deals. The aim is to enhance the understanding of the relations between the major factors involved. Details are disregarded, as generally, where the terms of licensing deals depend on predictions over a considerable length of time, the value of detail is limited. Some specific issues addressed by the approach are the impact on profits of large investments, high risks and long development times characteristic of drug development, the consequent strong impact that the ultimate sales levels and operating margins may have on what might be considered a reasonable royalty rate, and the relationship between upfront payments and milestone payments to be paid during pharmaceutical development and the royalties due once the drug enters the market.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of an alternative fuel resource by incinerating a mix of combustible MSW (municipal solid waste) and offals after separating recyclable material at the MRF (material recovery facilities) location. We analyzed the physical and chemical properties including the 3-contents, the calorific value, and chemical compositions of the separation rejects in MRF, and compared the results with combustible MSW. Moreover, we experimented the trend of combustible properties and the concentration change of air pollutants at mixed incineration in the MSW incinerator. According to the results of the experiment, the separation rejects showed higher heating value (5,865 kcal/kg), and lower moisture and ash content than combustible MSW. Since we have incinerated MSW in the MSW incinerator mixing the offals at 30% and 50% respectively, we know that the change of the concentration of dust, $SO_2$, $NO_2$, and CO did not appear significant, and not exceed the pollutants emission regulation. But, considering the enhancement of the HCl emission concentration (max. 33.7 ppm) at the co-incineration of the 50% offals, we believe that the proper mixing ratio of the separation rejects would become within 30%.
Objective : This study was conducted to determine an association between aortic calcification viewed on plain chest radiography and obstructive coronary artery disease. Method : Retrospective review of all chest radiography obtained from consecutive patients undergoing coronary angiography. Chest PA images were reviewed by technical radiologist and radiologist. Considering the presence of aortic arch calcification, images were compared with the results of coronary angiography. In addition, the size of aortic arch calcification were divided into two groups - the smaller and the larger than 10 mm. Results : Among the total 846 patients, the number of the patients with obstructive coronary artery disease is total 417 (88.3%) in males and 312 (83.4%) in females. Considering the presence of aortic arch calcification, the positive predictive value of relation between aortic arch calcification and obstructive coronary artery disease was 91.4% and the relative risk of the group with aortic arch calcification to the opposite group was 1.10. According to the size of aortic arch calcification and obstructive coronary artery disease, the positive predictive value was 91.9% and the relative risk between two groups was 1.04. Conclusions : This study shows that aortic calcification was closely associated with obstructive coronary artery disease. If the aortic calcification is notified on plain chest radiography, we strongly recommend to consult with doctor.
With transition to Knowledge society and introduction of information industry, there are many companies which have higher stock price than the suggested value from its financial information. To explain similar cases in capital markets, many researchers focus on non-financial information such as Web Traffic data or intangible assets such as intellectual property rights rather than traditional financial analysis. Besides, the relationships between financial and non-financial information with firm value are changed according to industry lifecycle. As Industry grows, financial information of company is more important for firm valuation in Capital market. We'd like to review the changes of relationships between financial information and firm valuation in Capital market especially for "Software", "Digital Contents", and "Internet" companies listed in Kosdaq market during 2000~2011. The result of data analysis shows the financial information gets more important after 2007. Inversely, it provides analytical bases that related industry gets mature. Also we show that intangible properties are more relevant to stock price of those technical based companies than others.
This study was to investigated the effects of adding of medicinal herbal (cinnamon, licorice and Bokbunja) to ground beef during storage by examining surface color, water holding capacity, cooking loss, increased rate of thickness, decreased rate of diameter, pH, VBN (volatile basic nitrogen) content and TBARS (2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances) values of the beef under cold ($4{\pm}1$) storage conditions for 9 days. Four types of ground beef were prepared by adding the follow: 10% water (control), 10% cinnamon extracts (T-1), 10% licorice extracts (T-2), and 10% Bokbunja extracts (T-3). The $L^*$ (Lightness) and $a^*$ (Redness) values of the beef significantly decreased (p<0.05) whereas no significant changes were shown in the $b^*$ (Yellowness) value during storage, and which were not influenced by the additions of herbal extracts. Water holding capacity was significantly increased during cold storage (p<0.05), and was not influenced by the addition of the extracts. The cooking loss of the control, T-2 and T-3 were significantly decreased during cold storage (p<0.05), and T-1 had no significant changes in cooking loss. There were no significant changes in the thickness and diameter during cold storage, and which were not influenced by the addition of the extracts. The pH of the control decreased until 6 days of storage, but increased at 9 days, and the pH levels of T-1, T-2 and T-3 decreased during cold storage. VBN content was increased during cold storage and the VBN contents of the samples containing herbal extracts were lower than that of the control. In addition, the TBARS values of the ground beef containing the extracts were lower than that of the control.

Some sugars and proteins were mixed with yellow corvenia lipids, soybean lipids or see yolk lipids to study the influence of the sugars or proteins on lipid oxidation and browning in dry and wet system during kept at $40^{\circ}C$. In the yellow corvenia lipids mixed with various food components, peroxide value(POV), carbonyl value(COV) and brown pigments were much higher than the case that soybean lipids or egg folk lipids were mixed. In terms of the food components, they appealed high in glucose, sucrose and starch but low in albumin and casein. When the soybean lipids were mixed, POV appeared low in all these maxture. COV and brown pigments appeared high in glucose, sucrose and starch but low in albumin and casein. In the case of egg york lipids, POV appeared lower than that of soybean lipids but COV and brown pigments were similar. In the starch mixture of three lipids in wet system, POV and COV in yellow corvenia lipids appealed lower, but appeared higher in soybean lipids and egg yolk lipids than those in dry system. Brown pigments appeared similarly with the case in dry system. And the all mixtures of casein in wet system, POV and COV appealed lower thanthose of the dry system, but brown pigments appeared high.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare denture wearer's evaluation and clinician's technical rating for complete denture used on edentulous patients. Materials and methods: Total 43 edentulous patients who had complete denture fabricated more than one year ago were recalled. The questionnaire based on the various literatures was modified and applied to patients for subjective assessments. Functional aspects related to retention, stability, occlusion and denture condition were included in operator's evaluation. In addition, correlations were evaluated between patient's subjective and operator's objective assessments. Friedman test and Cohen's Kappa value were used for statistical analysis. Results: It was found that denture wearers' evaluations were slightly or fairly agree to clinician's rating for complete denture. More differences were found in maxillary denture than mandibular denture and moderate difference was found in esthetic, occlusion aspects. Conclusion: There were slightly or fairly agreement between subjective and objective evaluations.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of supplemental levels of Bamboo vinegar (BV) on meat quality characteristics of Hanwoo. A total of 15 cows $(400.0\pm15.0\;kg)$ was fed with a commercial diet (control) or $3\%$ bamboo vinegar supplemented diets $(3\%\;BV),\;6\%$ BV for four months. TBA and total bacterial count were significantly (p<0.05) low in $3\%\;and\;6\%$ BV at 1 and 3 days. Supplementation of $3\%\;or\;6\%$ BV showed a significant (p<0.05) decrease in cooking loss at 9 and 15 days. $3\%\;and\;6\%$ BV showed a significant (p<0.05) decrease in shear force at 1, 3 and 9 days; it tended to decrease throughout the whole storage period The treatments $3\%\;and\;6\%$ BV scored high in area of taste; taste increased significantly (p<0.05) at 1 and 3 days.
This paper describes the micro cutting of wear resistant tungsten carbides using PCD (Poly-Crystalline Diamond) cutting tools in performance with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) direct observation method. Turning experiments were also carried out on this alloy (V50) using a PCD cutting tool. One of the purposes of this study is to describe clearly the cutting mechanism of tungsten carbides and the behavior of WC particles in the deformation zone in orthogonal micro cutting. Other purposes are to achieve a systematic understanding of machining characteristics and the effects of machining parameters on cutting force, machined surface and tool wear rates by the outer turning of this alloy carried out using the PCD cutting tool during these various cutting conditions. A summary of the results are as follows: (1) From the SEM direct observation in cutting the tungsten carbide, WC particles are broken and come into contact with the tool edge directly. This causes tool wear in which portions scrape the tool in a strong manner. (2) There are two chip formation types. One is where the shear angle is comparatively small and the crack of the shear plane becomes wide. The other is a type where the shear angle is above 45 degrees and the crack of the shear plane does not widen. These differences are caused by the stress condition which gives rise to the friction at the shear plane. (3) The thrust cutting forces tend to increase more rapidly than the principal forces, as the depth of cut and the cutting speed are increased preferably in the orthogonal micro cutting. (4) The tool wear on the flank face was larger than that on the rake face in the orthogonal micro cutting. (5) Three components of cutting force in the conventional turning experiments were different in balance from ordinary cutting such as the cutting of steel or cast iron. Those expressed a large value of thrust force, principal force, and feed force. (6) From the viewpoint of high efficient cutting found within this research, a proper cutting speed was 15 m/min and a proper feed rate was 0.1 mm/rev. In this case, it was found that the tool life of a PCD tool was limited to a distance of approximately 230 m. (7) When the depth of cut was 0.1 mm, there was no influence of the feed rate on the feed force. The feed force tended to decrease, as the cutting distance was long, because the tool was worn and the tool edge retreated. (8) The main tool wear of a PCD tool in this research was due to the flank wear within the maximum value of $V_{max}$ being about 260 $\mu\textrm{m}$.
