  • Minimally invasive surgery for gastric cancer has increased in popularity during the last two decades mainly in the Asia for patients with early-stage cancer. Nevertheless, the development of laparoscopic surgery for gastric cancers in the Western world has been slow because of the advanced stage at diagnosis for which LG is not yet considered an acceptable alternative to standard open surgery. RAG has been reported as a safe alternative to conventional surgery for treating of early gastric carcinoma. We assess the current status of robotic surgery in the treatment of gastric cancer focusing on the technical details, postoperative outcome, oncological considerations and future perspectives. In gastrectomy the biggest advantage of the robotic approach is the ease and reproducibility of lymphadenectomy. Reports also show that even the intra corporeal digestive restoration is facilitated by use of the robotic approach, particularly following TG. Additionally, the accuracy of robotic dissection is confirmed by decreased blood loss in comparison to conventional laparoscopy. The learning curve and technical reproducibility also appear to be shorter with robotic surgery and, consequently, robotics can help to standardize and diffuse minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of gastric cancer. While published reports have shown no significant differences in surgical morbidity, mortality, or oncological adequacy between robot-assisted and conventional gastrectomy. There are some advantages in terms of postoperative recovery of patients after robotic surgery. More studies are needed to assess the true indications and oncological effectiveness of robotic use in the treatment of gastric carcinoma.

  • In Korea, it is constructing the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) in according with the ITS project implementation guideline and each ITS standard on the basis of "National Integrated Transportation System Efficiency Act". However, only a few ITS project implementation guideline and ITS standard for the exchange of information technologies are not able to construct a smart ITS, without technical regulation for the technical characteristics of the main ITS equipment. Therefore, in this paper, we identify the current status and problems of the legal system and look for the necessity of technical regulation enactment for the smart ITS construction.

  • The research and development trend of Trajectory-based Operations(TBO), which is considered as a key concept of future Air Traffic Management(ATM), is presented in this paper. The operational concepts of TBO in ASBU(Aviation System Block Upgrade) from ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) have been summarized, and the detailed operational concepts and procedures, which can be realized in the near future, are described through the investigations of operational concept development and related research/development activities of TBO in USA and Europe. The technical enablers, which have been identified based on understanding of TBO operational concepts, are introduced, and related research/development status of each technical enabler has been presented.

  • The customer cabling systems play an important role in the telecommunication networks as an distribution network facilities between the exchange and customer premises. The present standards for domestic customer cabling systems are insufficient for supporting high speed multimedia services. In this paper, the status of the related international standardization and technical standards are investigated in order to enhance current customer cabling facilities in Korea. This paper analyzes the problems in the current technical standards and suggests how to improve technical standards.

  • The interest in environmental issues and the awareness of the importance of environmental education have been increasing. This research was carried out in part to respond to such a change, and it aims to search for and suggest ways to strengthen subject-based environmental education in Korea, the most significant part of the formal environmental education. One of the most important of this research was understanding the present status of environmental education of elementary, middle, and high schools in Korea, which was conducted by the questionnaire survey targeted to teachers on the subject-based environmental education. The survey was carried out comprehensively to include respondents from technical and home economics course as well as from vocational high schools. Through this survey, we gained information on the awareness of teachers and students on the objective, learning-teaching strategies and evaluation of environmental education as well as an understanding of the present status of environmental education in schools of Korea.

  • The purpose of this study was to review the current status and problems of the national qualification system in the Environmental field focusing on deficiencies of the regulatory system and qualities of environmental professional including the Environmental control Professional Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Industrial Engineer and Environmental field. An overview of the environmental field, its current status, domestic qualification items and training conditions in environment-related areas, laws of environmental field, and data of the job analysis were reviewed. The concrete and extensive development plans for the qualification system of the Environmental field are as follows: First of all, a job analysis should be made of on the introduction of new systems or policy modification to reflect technical changes and national policies about the environmental field in the qualification exam. Second, it is essential to prepare policies that are suitable for the qualification system in the Environmental field and that improve its effectiveness. Third, the appropriate policy measures should be taken in order to elevate the social standing of Environmental field qualification holders.

  • The molten carbonate fuel cell(MCFC) has been under Intensive development for the last decade as a second generation fuel cell. The advantages of the MCFC over the phophoric acid fuel cell are higher efficiency, its ability to accept CO and $H_2$ as a fuel, lower material costs, and high operating temperature making internal reforming possible. These features, along with low atmospheric emissions, will open up a significant market as an attractive means of developing highly efficient power plant. This article reviews a status of the MCFC research and development, a principle of the MCFC, and cell and stack technology including the status of electrodes, matrices and electrolytes. Several technical difficulties which must be resolved to be commercialized art mainly focused.

  • Amid the growing importance and urgency of smartening in the Korean maritime logistics industry, this study conducted a survey on the status of Korea's maritime trade technology. Korea is on par with developed countries internationally, but in order to lead the digitalization of the future era, additional developments should be explored by reviewing current conditions. In particular, it is necessary to draw policy implications for smart shipping in Korea, which is a three-sided sea. This study derived technical implications by comparing the number of patent applications and the applicant for domestic and foreign patents related to the major technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In addition, it was intended to investigate and present the status of Korea's maritime trade technology through the analysis of smart shipping-related emotions and the analysis of positive and negative scores of companies related to sentiment analysis.
