Open Data Cube(ODC) has been emerging and developing as the open source platform in the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites(CEOS) for the Global Earth Observation System of Systems(GEOSS) deployed by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), ODC can be applied to the deployment of scalable and large amounts of free and open satellite images in a cloud computing environment, and ODC-based country or regional application services have been provided for public users on the high performance. This study first summarizes the status of ODC, and then presents concepts and some considering points for linking this platform with Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT) images. For the reference, the main contents of ODC with the Google Earth Engine(GEE) were compared. Application procedures of KOMPSAT satellite image to implement ODC service were explained, and an intermediate process related to data ingestion using actual data was demonstrated. As well, it suggested some practical schemes to utilize KOMPSAT satellite images for the ODC application service from the perspective of open data licensing. Policy and technical products for KOMPSAT images to ODC are expected to provide important references for GEOSS in GEO to apply new satellite images of other countries and organizations in the future.

Iron was one of the most influential factors for formation and development of ancient countries. The diffusion of ironware had increased agricultural productivity and brought about military technical revolution. Needless to say, the rise and fall of the countries depended on the possession of stable iron production. Raw materials and fuels are the key factors for mass production of iron and a transportation route is essential to supply the goods. Jungwon area satisfies the three factors. There are many iron manufacture sites such as Jincheon Seokjang-ri Gusan-ri, and Chunju Chilgeum-dong Tangeumdae earthen ramparts in the Jungwon area. In order to study the ancient iron manufacture technique, reconstitution experiment was carried out using restored furnace which was made based on the Jincheon Seokjang-ri B-23 furnace. Some notable results were identified with the experiment as in the followings. Firstly, a roasting process has a connection with the decrease of hardness of the iron ore. Secondly, melting of the blast pipe as well as the formation of product within the furnace had a crucial effect on the cessation of the experiment. Thirdly, reduced iron in various locations within the furnace prove that there was enough reducing environment during the working. Not only melting point but also properties of iron can vary depending on the carbon contents. For the reason, formation of approximate environment in which iron can react to the chalcoal is the most important factor in terms of iron manufacture.

With the recent growing importance over safety management the need for advanced and technical approaches for on-site safety inspection methods has increased. Railway construction is subject to its own particular set of temporal and spatial challenges due to its unique facilities and equipment. This study aimed to investigate the field characteristics of railway infrastructure and improve the conventional field safety management methods by identifying the most appropriate features of AR technology. Group interviews and surveys were conducted with field safety experts to derive the major problems and inspection needs. Subsequently, various features of AR, such as BIM model projection, and remote conferencing, were investigated to determine their applicability to address safety issues. As a result, four problems in the current safety management process, such as 'lack of time due to the conventional inspection method and inspection of areas that are difficult to access', and three major inspection types, such as 'observance of work procedures, status of installation, adequate dimensional spacing', were identified to be improved when adopting AR based techniques. Furthermore, AR technology utilizing plans to solve safety inspection problems and effectively manage major inspection types were proposed, and a follow up survey was conducted with the same field safety experts to derive the priority of technology development.

With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic situation, the attention on Metaverse has been soared throughout media and publications. Recently the entertainment industry is also changing to actively utilize the virtual world with artists working through Metaverse platforms. With the recent high interests on Metaverse, this study attempts to illuminate how the public perceives and accepts Metaverse experiences. While research on Metaverse has been mainly focused on specific technologies or technical objects, this study focuses on exploring how fans recognize and understand the concept of Metaverse through newly debuted idol group 'aespa', composing of 4 human members and 4 AI avatar members that integrate real and virtual world. For this, this study seeks to analyze the reaction and recognition of fans by exploring online community 'DC Inside'. As a result of analyzing the reactions of fans in the early days of aespa's debut, the perspectives of understanding AI members of aespa are categorized into three groups: first, the type of equating and accepting the real and the virtual world; second, the type of recognizing the real world and the virtual world separately and recognizing the virtual member as an avatar or concept, not a genuine member; and finally, a type of recognizing virtual worlds separately from reality. Based on these results, the implications that Metaverse contents may have in the entertainment industry are suggested.
Achievement at university is recognized in a comprehensive sense as the level of qualitative change and development that students have embodied as a result of their experience in university education. Therefore, the academic achievement of university students will be given meaning in cooperation with the historical and social demands for diverse human resources such as creativity, leadership, and global ability, but it is practically an indicator of the outcome of university education. Measurement of academic achievement by such credits involves many problems, but in particular, standardization of academic achievement by credits based on evaluation methods, contents, and university rankings is a very difficult problem. In this study, we present a model that uses machine learning techniques to predict whether or not academic achievement is excellent for D-University graduates. The variables used were analyzed using up to 96 personal information and bachelor's information such as graduation year, department number, department name, etc., but when establishing a future education course, only the data after enrollment works effectively. Therefore, the items to be analyzed are limited to the recommended ability to improve the academic achievement of the department/student. In this research, we implemented an academic achievement prediction model through analysis of core abilities that reflect the philosophy, goals, human resources image, and utilized machine learning to affect the impact of the introduction of the prediction model on academic achievement. We plan to apply the results of future research to the establishment of curriculum and student guidance conducted in the department to establish a basis for improving academic achievement.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of assessment by adopting adaptive learning in higher education that are rarely examined in previous studies. In particular, this study applied research questions: 1) How does technical perception, perceived contents and features, and perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive system with lecture affect overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, overall motivation for the study, and intention to use it with other classes? 2) How do overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, motivation for the class, and intention to use affect loyalty on the AI-based adaptive system? This study conducted online surveys after the completion of the classes adopted AI-based adaptive learning system, ALEKS. This study applied ANOVA, regression, and factor analyses. The results of this study found that perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive learning system with the lectures on overall satisfaction, effectiveness, motivation, and intention to use for other classes showed significant with higher effect size. The results of this study provides implication that the AI-based learning system help improve learning outcomes in graduate level studies. The results provide policy and managerial implications that the AI-based adaptive learning system should improve better customer relationships in higher education.

Although the Korea shipbuilding industry has recently been receiving most of the orders for ships in the world, production processes are being disrupted due to a shortage of manpower at the production site. This is because the workers quit the shipyard as both work and wages were reduced due to the long slump in the shipbuilding industry. The main reason for the increase in orders was the large-scale orders for Qatar LNG carriers, and the situation in which the technical specifications required for ships are becoming more complex is also working to an advantage. Because the contract delivery time is of utmost importance for ships, the dock launch plan is the most important management item among the shipyard's major processes. The structure to be built in the dock may be a hull that has left the design work or a finished vessel, and in some cases, it is often at the level of some blocks of the hull. When launching, the hull is affected by the hogging or sagging moment due to the fluid force, and securing the safety of the structural strength of the block connection is of utmost importance. In a normal process, the connecting member launches after welding has been completed, but in actual shipbuilders, quick decision-making is needed on the conditions for securing structural safety to comply with the docking schedule. In this study, a detailed analysis method and applicability using a bending stress evaluation method and finite element analysis modelling were analyzed to rationally judge the above-mentioned problems from an engineering point of view. The main contents mentioned in the thesis can be used as good examples when conducting similar structural strength evaluations in the future.
The thermoplastic polyurethane waste (TPU-S) with good tensile properties, hardness, NBS abrasion resistance, specific gravity and low wet coefficient of kinetic friction was melt-blended with ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM) with high wet slip resistance and low mechanical properties to form EPDM/TPU-S blend films, and their composition-property relationship was investigated to find the optimum composition for shoe outsole material. The properties except the wet slip resistance increased with increasing TPU-S contents in the blend. All the properties except elongation at break, specific gravity and the wet coefficient of kinetic friction in the range of $0{\sim}65\;wt%$ of TPU-S did not attain the values predicted by the simple additive rule. The optimum weight ratio of EPDM/TPU-S for the application to the typical shoe outsole material was found to be 30/70.

As the development of the 4th industrial revolution in the maritime industry has accelerated, the technical development and progress of maritime autonomous surface ship(MASS), and the development of international regulations have been accelerated. In particular, the IMO Maritime Safety Committee(MSC) has established a road-map for the development of the non-mandatory goal-based MASS instrument(MASS Code) and started developing a non-mandatory MASS Code at MSC 105th meeting. Many countries are actively participating in the Correspondence Group on the development of MASS Code, and the development of detailed requirements for MASS functions in the MASS Code is underway. Especially, the concept of "Mode of Operation" for MASS functions was mentioned in the Correspondence Group for the first time, and it is expected that discussions on these modes will be conducted from the IMO MASS JWG meeting to held in April 2023. The concept of "Mode of Operation" will be useful in explaining MASS and MASS functions and will be discussed continually for the development of MASS Code. This paper reviews the contents of the IMCA M 220 document, which provides guidelines on operating modes, to conduct research on the benchmark for setting the operating modes of MASS.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to reveal the circumstances under which the cases of harm to health caused by humidifier disinfectant were neglected and show the points where the number of victims and the degree of damage could have been reduced. In addition, it attempts to describe how damage management proceeded immediately after the incident and actually exacerbated the damage. Finally, it explores the unfortunate aspects of the recent trial. By doing so, it attempts to take this as an opportunity to consider whether a tragic event such as the humidifier disinfectant incident could occur in the future. Methods: This study collected and analyzed data on chemical material characteristics related to humidifier disinfectants, data on health effect characteristics, data on related laws and regulations from the Ministry of Environment, data related to the damage investigation by the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute, and current contents. Results: The lack of related systems and laws is the area where the greatest responsibility for the cause of the humidifier disinfectant disaster falls, so it is difficult for the government to escape this responsibility. Establishing a dedicated department to identify the prevalence of certain diseases within the functions of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service to monitor health can greatly contribute to the prevention and management of diseases through early detection and management of group outbreaks caused by harmful factors. Humidifier disinfectant damage relief should have been expanded earlier beyond HDLI (humidifier disinfectant lung injury) to include non-specific diseases such as asthma, pneumonia, and interstitial pneumonia. The scope of relief benefits should have also been expanded earlier to include the payment of disability benefits. Fortunately, with the 2020 revision of the Special Act, the conditions for estimating causal relations were eased and individual screening systems such as health impact assessment were reorganized along with the introduction of a rapid screening system. Conclusions: The management system for chemical substances in a country is clearly of paramount importance, and the ministry in charge must have a response system in case of damage to health effects. Administration that looks at the victims' situation from their point of view is needed, and technical countermeasures are required to quickly recognize the prevalence of certain diseases.
