  • Recently, near-field recording (NFR) disk drive schemes have been proposed with a view to increasing recording densities of hard disk drives. Compared with hard disk drives. NFR disk drives have narrower track pitches and are exposed to more severe periodic disturbances resulting from eccentric rotation of the disk. It is difficult to meet servo system design specifications for NFR disk drives with conventional VCM actuators in that the servo system for an NFR disk drive generally requires a feater gain and higher bandwidth. To tackle the problem various dual-stage actuator systems composed of a microactuator mounted on top of a conventional VCM actuator have been proposed. This article deals with the problem of designing a tracking servo system far an NFR disk drive adopting a dual-stage actuator. We summarize design constraints pertaining to the dual-stage servo system and present a new servo scheme using iterative teaming control. We design feedback compensators and an iterative teaming controller for a target plant and verify the validity of the proposed control scheme through a computer simulation.

  • This paper presents a framework to generate human-like movements of a humanoid in real time using the movement primitive database of a human. The framework consists of two processes: 1) the offline motion imitation learning based on an Evolutionary Algorithm and 2) the online motion generation of a humanoid using the database updated bγ the motion imitation teaming. For the offline process, the initial database contains the kinetic characteristics of a human, since it is full of human's captured motions. The database then develops through the proposed framework of motion teaming based on an Evolutionary Algorithm, having the kinetic characteristics of a humanoid in aspect of minimal torque or joint jerk. The humanoid generates human-like movements far a given purpose in real time by linearly interpolating the primitive motions in the developed database. The movement of catching a ball was examined in simulation.

  • This research illustrates how the simulation environment for operating the simultaneous man/unmanned aerial vehicle teaming is constructed. X-Plane program, HILS for the ducted fan aircraft (unmanned) and CTLS (manned aircraft) with communication devices are interfaced to simulate the basic co-operational flight. The X-plane and HILS can allow operators to experience the maned and unmanned aircraft operation in the airspace on the ground in turn they can perform various simulated missions in advance before the actual flight. For the test purpose, the data link between man/unmanned aircraft and ground control station is examined using C Band and UHF radio channels by the manned aircraft.

  • The higher cognitive functions of the human brain including teaming are hypothesized to be selectively distributed across large-scale neural networks interconnected to the cortical and subcortical areas. Recently, advances in functional imaging have made it possible to visualize the brain areas activated by certain cognitive activities in vivo. Neural substrates for teaming and motivation have also begun to be revealed. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) provides a non-invasive indirect mapping of cerebral activity, based on the blood- oxygen level dependent (BOLD) contrast which is based on the localized hemodynamic changes following neural activities in certain areas of the brain. The fMRI method is now becoming an essential tool used to define the neuro-functional mechanisms of higher brain functions such as memory, language, attention, learning, plasticity and emotion. Further research in the field of education will accelerate the verification of the effects on loaming or help in the selection of model teaching strategies. Thus, the purpose of this study was to review brain study methods using fMRI in science education. In conclusion, a number of possible strategies using fMRI for the study of elementary science education were suggested.

The computer vision laboratories include distant image acquisition method, basic image processing and pattern recognition methods lens and light, and communication. This study introduces a case study that teaches computer vision in distance learning. environment. It shows a schematic of a distant teaming workstation and contents of laboratories with image processing examples. The study focus more on the contents of the vision Labs rather than internet application method. The study proposes the ways to improve the on-line computer vision laboratories and includes the further research perspectives.

  • According to use of a multimedia content being increased in an e-learning, a size deviation of a content to provide in an e-teaming system is increased. It is becoming a factor to drop efficiency of education because this makes a deviation of response time on an e-learning user. Therefore, studies about a deviation improvement of user response speed is necessary in the e-learning system that used a multimedia content. In this study, we designe the hybrid e-teaming system that used multi-layed structire. A proposed system is based on a characteristics of media and size of a content that a multimedia data had. Also, it proved superiority of performance through experimentation.
