  • We have investigated the effect of the device structure on the performance of polycrystalline ZnO TFT and amorphous AZTO TFT with top gate and bottom gate structure. While the mobility of both TFTs showed relatively similar value in a top and bottom gate structure, bias stability was quite different depending on the device structure. Top gate TFT showed much less Vth shift under positive bias stress compared to that of bottom gate TFT. We attributed this different behavior to the defects formation on the gate insulator induced by energetic bombardment during the active layer deposition in a bottom gate TFT. We suggest the top gate oxide TFT would show more stable behavior under the Vgs bias.

  • High resolution 2.1” QVGA LTPS LCD (190ppi) having high aperture ratio of 65% could be successfully developed using state-of-the-art SLS technology and active/gate storage structure. Cost effective P-MOS 6-Mask structure was used. Full gate and transmission gate circuits are integrated in the panel. The high aperture ratio was obtained by using active/gate capacitance structure, which can reduce storage capacitance area. The aperture ratio was increased to 65% from 49% of conventional gate/data capacitance structure. The brightness was increased from 180cd to 270cd without any degradation of optical properties such as contrast ratio, flicker or crosstalk.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify hospital nurses' recognition of the team system and the effectiveness of the team system as an organizational structure. Methods: A self-report questionnaire was used to collect data from 247 general hospital nurses during 4 months in 2013. Analysis was done using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and factor analysis with SPSS 18.0. program Results: There was no significant difference in nurses' recognition of team structure (t=2.06, p=.153) or effect of team structure (t=0.36, p=.549) according to use of team system. In hospitals with a team system, there were positive correlations between recognition of the effect of the team system and age (r=.25, p=.033), and total clinical career (r=.26, p=.012). In hospitals not using a team system, nurses' recognition of team structure as an organizational system (r=.31, p<.001), nurses' recognition of team structure, total (r=.30 p<.001) correlated significantly with the effects of team system. Conclusion: Results of this study provide a retrospection view of the team system in nursing organizational systems. The nursing team system's ultimate goal needs to be confirmed for complementary nursing care. Also, more studies on nurses' perceptions of, and effectiveness of the team system are necessary.

  • This study investigated the effect of small-world structure in team processes on team performance. I discussed the theoretical relationship between small-world structure in team processes and team performance and analyzed the relationship using pass data of soccer teams. I constructed the 128 pass networks from the pass data of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and then measured the structural features indicating small-world structure of the networks. Correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed in order to examine the strength and direction of the relationship. According to the results, the clustering has an exponential relationship with team performance and the connectivity has a log-function relationship with team performance. Finally, I found the positive effect of small-world structure in team processes on team performance. Through theoretical discussion and empirical analysis, this study found that small-world structure in team processes increase team performance by facilitating task coordination and collaboration between team members.

  • Attention has been focused recently on the concept of shared cognition which encompasses the notion that effective team members hold knowledge that is overlapping and complementary with teammates. This shared cognition is expected to improve team effectiveness. In contrast to the continued efforts in developing theoretical approach of shared cognition, empirical studies are meager. Thus, we conducted an empirical study to investigate the role of shared cognition on team effectiveness. This study classifies shared cognition into two types, team mental model and transactive memory system, by shared meaning. A total of 121 new product development teams in the IT industry were surveyed for the data collection. The results of analysis can be summarized as follows: first, team mental model has a positive influence on team performance, team innovative behavior and team learning effect. And the relation with team mental model and team performance is moderated by the similarity of knowledge structure among the expert. Second, transactive memory system has a positive influence on team performance, team innovative behavior and team learning effect.

  • The requirement of planarity, such as with-in-wafer nonuniformity, post thickness range, have become increasingly stringent as critical dimensions of devices are decreased and a better control of a planarity become important. The key factors influencing the planarity capability of the CMP process have been well understood through numerous related experiments. These usually include parameters such as process pressures, relative velocities, slurry temperature, polishing pad materials and polishing head structure. Many study have been done about polishing pad and its groove structure because it's considered as one of the key factors which can decide wafer uniformity directly. But, not many study have been done about polisher head structure, especially about polisher head plate design. The purpose of this paper is to know how the plate structure can affect wafer uniformity and how to deteriorate wafer yield. Furthermore, we studied several new designed plate to improve wafer uniformity and also improve wafer yield.

  • A self-pulsating multisection distributed-feedback laser diode (DFB LD) can potentially realize all-optical clock extraction. This device generally consists of three sections, two DFB sections and one waveguide section. The most important variable in this device is detuning, which is the relative spectral position between the stop bands of two DFB sections. We fabricated a novel structure in which two gratings were located one over and one under the active layers. Each grating structure was independently defined in processing so that detuning, which is the prerequisite for self-pulsation, could be easily controlled. Observing various self-pulsating phenomena in these devices under several detuning conditions, we characterized the phenomena as dispersive Q-switching, mode beating, and self-mode-locking.

  • In this study, the field emission display with carbon nanotube emitter is developed for the large size HDTV application. Two structures for electron beam focusing are developed on the typical top-gate cathode. The metal grid and focusing gate structure are proved to be effective for the focusing. The data switching voltage for the double gate structure is lower than 30V which is competitive value in respect of the cost for driver electronics. The brightness and color gamut are comparable to those of the commercial product such as CRT.

  • Optimization of the luminance, luminous efficiency, and address voltage margin characteristics has been made on the delta color array PDP with various hexagonal shape subpixels. The optimal subpixel and electrode designs are obtained for the 42-inch high-definition PDP ($1,366{\times}768$) with the fine pixel pitch less than 0.7 mm. The hexagonal delta array structure shows more improved characteristics than that of the normal delta array structure with rectangular shape subpixels.

  • As design trends has changed to have flexible aft hull structure, increased power output and stiffer shafting system, owners and classification societies have more concerned about shaft alignment. In the shaft alignment analysis, there are many uncertainties which are related in propeller generated force, bearing stiffness, crank shaft model and etc. in this study, it is focused on the effect of crankshaft model by comparing between equivalent model and actual crankshaft model.
