Through the present training condition of Korean teacher librarians and their supply-demand prospects, this paper pointed out problems both of the educational system and of its supply-demand and suggested the solution as well. Particularly, focusing on the educational system of teacher librarians and the present condition of the training organizations, this paper predicted their supply ability in the future and analyzed the demand which is necessary, when applying the standards of Korean Library Association and School Library Promotional Law with the selective situation of teacher librarians. In this way, the problems of supply-demand imbalance were indicated and, as a method for training the proper number which is required for the future demand, the rearrangement of the approval number of a course of study for the teaching profession and the establishment of Library and Information education department in education college were proposed.

Since the present training system of Korean teacher librarians is not adequate to strengthen their expertise, the training system should be changed. The purpose of this study is to suggest an improvement of the system, which prescribes their curriculums. To do this, first of all, the requirements for being given a national teacher certification are explored. Secondly, three major previous studies are reviewed. As a result, three subjects have been added to the present curriculum which consists presently of eight subjects. The added subjects are library and information education, information literacy and collaboration and collection development.

Many educators and teacher-librarians have emphasized many times on the necessity and the educational value of the school library. But actually the necessity and the educational value of the school library is not recognized as the most important ones in the educational system. Therefore I tried to find out several ways on the development of the school library and the promotion of the teacher-librarian focusing on recognition of the necessity of school library. In order to develop the school library, it is necessary that the function of the school library should be maximized and transformed to effective system. I would like to suggest the following methods : 1) Transform the present school library into the school library media center. 2) Connect the running system S.L.M.C. to the curriculum of the school. 3) Emphasis of the reading education. 4) Guidance on the use of library. At last I studied on the definition, the legal status and the education of the teacher-librarian.

This study analyzed cases of collaborative classes between a teacher librarian and Chinese language teacher by applying problem-based learning (PBL) and intended to propose a desirable direction for class in operating collaborative classes of PBL. In order to achieve this purpose, methods to raise problems by BPL at the library of S High School, class content by each round of class, and cases of students' achievements were presented. In addition, statistical analysis of interest in subjects on 101 students in their sophomore year who had participated in PBL class was conducted. According to the study result, students' learning-related desire to accomplish, executive ability of learning, and interest were significantly improved.

This study aims to analyze and compare the components of school library laws of Korea and Japan. The laws of two nations were legislated by the members of the National Assembly, and NGO contributed significantly to the legislative process. The common parts of the two laws are objectives, definitions, responsibilities of nations, establishments, tasks, human resources, collaborative networks, and education, etc. For the task of school libraries, Korean law emphasizes the function of education, while the Japan law focuses on the basic duties of school libraries. In terms of human resources, school libraries in Korea can have a teacher librarian, a practice teacher, or a librarian, but in Japan, they can have either a teacher librarian or a school librarian. The Korea law specifies the aspects of facilities and materials, but the Japan law does not. Finally, for the educational role, the Korean libraries have reading and information literacy training that are parts of school curriculum, while the Japan libraries have only a library use guidance program and does not include reading education.

The purpose of this study is to propose an effective development of teacher librarians' practice teaching and to identify how much teacher librarians' practice teaching affects their expertise in Korea. For this, two research models are constructed. The first model is to analyze the relationship of variables between the effect of practice teaching and the following variables: pretraining, practice program, advisory teacher, training condition and organizational atmosphere. The second model is to analyze how much the practice teaching affects their role perception and expertise compared with training courses and field experiences. The result is as follow: It is the training program that greatly affects teacher librarians' practice teaching among those variables. And the practice teaching has a positive effect on the ability of role performance. According to the above result, the practice teaching is effective in developing teacher librarians' expertise. And more systematic practice teaching program, enough pretraining and the efforts of advisory teacher are necessary to enhance the effect of teacher librarians' practice teaching.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the perceptions, demands, operation problems of teacher librarians for the implementation of the high school credit system. 153 teacher librarians working in high schools participated in the online survey, and statistical analysis was conducted Teacher librarians had a high understanding of the high school credit system, and the demand for elective courses management was high. In particular, teacher librarians working at research schools had a higher understanding of the high school credit system and the operating foundation than those in general schools. Lack of awareness of the educational role of students and teachers toward teacher librarians was recognized as the biggest problem in the elective course management and there was no difference according to the background variables of the teacher librarian as gender, region, experience. On the basis of this result, it is suggested and discussed that developing high school credit system training program for teacher librarians, opening of elective courses related to reading, media, and information literacy skills and developing textbook, and instituting mandatory completion courses related to reading, media, and information literacy skills in pre-teacher training course.

The presence of teacher is very important and it could be the core of making success or failure of education. Thus, most countries have a training program and employment system school teachers for guarantees to school teachers' qualification and profession. Teacher qualifications can be obtained by law, teacher recruitment examination for school in Korea. The Praxis tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations in U.S. Korea teacher employment test consist of 3 groups(1st, 2nd, 3rd test), 1st test measure general and subject-specific Knowledge. The U.S. teacher certification test consist of 3 groups(Praxis I, II, III), Praxis II measure knowledge of specific subjects that K-12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. The purposes of this study is to review teachers' certification and recruitment system comparative analysis examination questions in the Korea and U.S. This will allow for suggestions in the Korean teacher librarian employment test system.

LAI(Library Assited Instruction) distinguished from classroom instruction viewpoint of use of school libraries's material and collaborative with teacher librarian. Thus LAI must be emphasized student's information activities and teacher librarian's support activities. This study is supposed to LAI model (information presentation-guide type, information search-organization type. information analysis Interpretation type, information synthesis-representation type, information query-projects type, information query-discussion type) based on student's information activities. The student's information activities were derived from the model of information use process. This study investigated the overall perceptions of pre-service school librarian teacher on the current education practicum through semi-structured in-depth interviews and suggested improvements to the educational practicum system. For this purpose, interview data were collected from 28 pre-service school librarian teacher (6 teachers' colleges, 14 taking teaching qualification courses, and 8 graduate school of education) who participated in educational practicum in school libraries, and a research method that combines qualitative analysis techniques with text network analysis was applied. The results of the study showed that pre-service school librarian teacher believe that educational practicum can prepare them for various field experiences and cultivate their ability to cope with situations they will encounter in the future. Through qualitative inquiry, we were able to identify their perceptions of school field practicum as a whole, their perceptions of the school field practicum, and their perceptions of educational service activities. Based on this, to improve the current problems of educational practice, we suggested expanding the period of school internship program, distributing the time, establishing a full-time practice system, having continuous discussions with field teachers, and developing a systematic school field practicum.
