  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the mismatch between instructional design and teaching practice of pre-service science teachers and to investigate the cause of these mismatches. Twenty pre-service science teachers took part in teaching practicum for four weeks from Apr. 2015 to May 2015 and we analyzed their lesson plans and videos of these lessons. After that, we interviewed the pre-service science teachers in order to know the cause of these mismatches and additional informations. The main findings are as follows. First, in the introductory stage, we found more mismatch in the "attention and motivation stimulation" area than any other area. Many pre-service science teachers corrected their 'motivation practice' in different forms. Second, we found out that the most mismatch occurred in the evolving stage. Many pre-service science teachers added learning contents in "learning content presentation" area. Third, in the closing stage, many pre-service science teachers omitted the "leaning content summary" area in the lack of time. Fourth, the number of mismatches by internal factors is similar of by external factors. The mismatches by external factors were mainly by feedback of guidance teacher and change by students' response. In addition, we discussed the implications related to reflective mentoring program, importance of guidance teacher, importance of time management etc.

  • This study investigated a total of 529 integrated science teachers' implementation and changes to apply the curriculum-instruction-assessment. Data was collected through online survey on scientific competencies and skills, teaching-learning and assessment methods, changes of teacher's preparation, topics/materials, teaching-learning, and assessment to apply the curriculum-instruction-assessment as teaching integrated science. The results of the study were as follows: first, in the integrated science class, teachers implemented more on scientific communication and scientific inquiry among scientific core competencies, and analysis and interpretation of data collection and communication among scientific skills. Teachers often taught in lectures and used multiple choice items and short essay for evaluation. Teacher groups with less than 10 years of teaching experience appeared to be less active in teaching scientific core competencies and skills than those with more than 10 years. Second, Teachers have increased more time and efforts to search and to organize various materials in addition to textbooks, and try to integrated concepts in various fields to prepare learning topics and textbooks. Third, even though teachers made little change in implementing the process-oriented assessment, they used instructional strategies to increase student engagement in the integrated science class, restructured the instruction to provide immediate feedback after conducting the assessment. It is necessary to build a system that ensures fairness and credibility of evaluation while respecting the autonomy and professionalism of teachers.

  • This study is the case of non-face-to-face teaching-learning in the subject of "Research and Guidance on Early Childhood Materials" in the pre-child teacher training program. The study conducted a non-face-to-face teaching-learning model for 18 students at B University in region C who took lectures on 'Research and Guidance on Early Childhood Materials' in the first semester of 2021. As a non-face-to-face teaching-learning model, it consisted of video lectures, real-time zoom classes, and various forms of 'communication' through frequent feedback and interaction and 'participation'. As a teaching-learning strategy for the participation of pre-service early childhood teachers, comment on questions related to early childhood materials, in-depth reflection on early childhood materials through writing reflective journals and observation reports, and step-by-step presentation of making childhood materials plans, processes, and results were carried out. As a result of exploring the experience of making early childhood materials for pre-service early childhood teachers, factors such as "growth experience through trial and error," "thinking from child's point of view", "Increase efficiency and reduce burden through communication", "Process rather than result" and "The importance of communication and interaction in non-face-to-face classes"

  • Capacity of making assessment items among teacher's assessment competency is essential element in validity and reliability of assessment. Errors in test items on the formal and content aspects can be a big stumbling block to derive a correct evaluation result. Through this assessment, the positive feedback can not be derived. In this study, By analyzing midterm and final 60 exam papers for geometry and vector in 45 high Schools of Seoul GyeonggiIncheon area, We argue error items and improvements on the formal and content aspect the paper-based assessment of mathematics. Through this, Our intention is to improve the skills of teachers for making assessment items.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to conduct maker-education for prospective child care teachers explore changes and for the results to be used as a basic data to study the utilization of maker-education. Methods: To that end, 36 prospective child care teachers attending nursery school applied to the maker-education program and to the curriculum of children's literature and play. The collected interview materials and student journals were qualitatively analyzed. Results: The results showed that prospective child care teachers started with mixed expectations and but then actively participated in worries classes with interest and had fun. Also, in the stage of sharing, they changed from having difficulty communicating with colleagues to developing an attitude of cooperation and unity through communication. In addition, it has been shown that from feeling the difficulties of planning, planning changes and modifications are directly related to their development and that they are quickly and wisely dealt with. Conclusion/Implications: It is recognized that there is a need for a follow-up study to verify the effect of this as meaningful implications are derived from the effects of positively accepting feedback, planning to attempt a step-by-step approach, and active attitude toward communication between colleagues.

The background of this study is that cooperative learning came into the highlight as a good method to cultivate teachers' competencies for creativity and character education as well as students' creativity and character in the mathematics classroom. 20 pre-service mathematics teachers participated in their cooperative microteaching and 16 of them responded to the survey. The collected data showed that the merits of cooperative microteaching are to ease the burden of preparing for class, to discuss how to teach mathematics, to debate what lesson is better, to receive valuable feedback form their peer, and so on. Also, it provided them with the chance for self-improvement in that they kept to make up for the week points in their teaching behavior. Meanwhile, they wanted longer time to experience their teaching and their own lesson.

The data were collected through individual interviews and analyzed based on Elo and Kyngas's content analysis method. The quantitative data were collected using the questionnaire developed based on qualitative results and analyzed by SPSS 23.0 program and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Results: The results showed that IPA extracted seven items with high importance but low satisfaction: "nursing fads and trends," "teacher-learner communication and reflection," "materials used in clinical settings such as monitoring results and test results," "special presentations by experienced practitioners," "instruction assures learners' comprehension," "accurate and detailed evaluation standards" and "feedback on homework and exam." Conclusion: The factors comprising good instruction were verified, and the necessity for additional efforts to improve high importance and low performance factors was noted. Therefore, this study can serve as a guide for nursing education facilities and educators in developing of a thorough education system with excellent instruction designed to achieve an ideal nursing education.

  • The aim of this study is to design a Real-time video Korean curriculum. Curriculum using real-time video, which is a variant of distance learning, teaches Korean to students studying in distant places through real-time video communication program. This is expected to supplement the lack of interaction in existing video classes and enable online simultaneous interaction, while increasing learning opportunities for Korean language students living in distance places. To find out the needs of the subjects for the curriculum design, this study conducted a one-on-one interview with 9 female married immigrants who are enrolled in the Cyber University which is opening a curriculum later. According to the survey, the students answered that they have a high intention of attending classes if the lack of interaction in existing distance classes are supplemented. Therefore, we could confirm the demand of a curriculum consisting of an overall real-time video education and multilateral individual connection. Also, we found out that there is a demand in performance rather than comprehension and a high demand for detailed feedback from the teacher. The result shows that the curriculum needs to establish performance-oriented contents to progress to an advanced level Korean Language, and include a study plain comprising of real-time interaction.
