A New Record of the Genus Camarops (Boliniaceae) in Korea

  • Camarops ustulinoides (Henn.) Nannf., belonging to the family Boliniaceae (Order Boliniales), is reported as new to Korea. The morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic analysis based on the nucLSU region sequence confirm the recognition of this taxon. Illustrated descriptions of C. ustulinoides are provided.

Graphis lueckingiana, a New Species from Cameroon

  • A new species of Graphis is described from Cameroon, Africa. The new taxon is distinguished by a greyish-green, glossy, uneven, and continuous thallus. Further, it possesses stellately branched lirellae, and its entire labia are covered almost completely with thick thalline margin. It also has a completely carbonized proper exciple, which is considerably thick at the base, one-spored asci, and muriform hyaline to yellowish ascospores.

One Unrecorded Endophytic Fungi from Sub-alpine Conifer, Rhizosphaera pini

  • An endophytic fungus, Rhizosphaera pini strain NIE7426, was isolated from the sub-alpine coniferous tree Abies nephrolepis in Mt. Nochu of Gangwon Province. It was characterized by macroscopic and microscopic features, as well as the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1, 2 and 5.8S sequences. All morphological and molecular features support the first recognition of this taxon in Korea. In addition, this study adds A. nephrolepis as a host plant R. pini.

  • A new variety, Lecanorchis japonica var. insularis (Orchidaceae: Vanilloideae), a mycoheterotrophic orchid from Jejudo Island, Korea, is described and illustrated. It usually grows with L. japonica var. japonica, L. japonica var. hokurikuensis and L. kiusiana in evergreen forests. The newly described variety is distinguished from L. japonica vars. japonica, hokurikuensis, and kiiensis by having fully opened, larger flowers and an obtuse labellum apex.

아산만 동물플랑크톤 군집의 계절변화 (Seasonal Fluctuation of Zooplankton Community in Asan Bay, Korea)

  • 아산만 동물플랑크톤 변이의 약 3/4 가량이 계절에 따른 변이로 파악되었으며 만의 안쪽과 바깥쪽의 차이는 상대적으로 매우 작았다. 그러나 만의 안쪽과 바깥쪽에서의 주요종의 조성율 차이가 시간의 경과에 따라 점차 커지고 있어 방조제 건설 등에 따른 변화가 진행되고 있는 것 같았다. 조사 기간 3년 동안 종별로 가장 많이 출현하는 계절이 서로 달랐으나 각종이 가장 많이 출현하는 계절은 3년 계속 일치하고 있었다. Calanus sinicus와 Acartia bifilosa는 봄철에, Sagitta crassa, Paracalanus parvus, Acartia pacifica, Tortanus spinicaudatus, Corycaeus affinis 및 Decapoda larva는 여름철에, Labidocera euchaeta와 Bivalve larva는 가을철에 가장 많이 출현하였고 겨울철에 가장 많이 나타난 종은 없었다. 대체로 가을철에는 많은 종류가 적게 출현하고, 겨울철에는 종수와 양이 모두 적었고, 이들은 모두 봄에 증가하기 시작하여 여름철에는 많은 종이 모두 다량 출현하는 변화양상 이었다. 지지하는 증거는 불충분하지만 이러한 변화양상에 대한 가설을 제기하였다.

용인시 석성산의 식물상 (A Flora of Mt. Seokseong in Yongin-si)

  • 석성산은 북위 $37^{\circ}15'15'{\sim}37^{\circ}17'00'$와 동경 $127^{\circ}09'30'{\sim}127^{\circ}11'00'$에 걸쳐 용인시에 위치한다. 본 조사 지역에는 4강, 34목, 75과, 175속, 243종, 45변종, 5품종 등 모두 293분류군의 관속식물이 생육하는 것으로 조사되었다. 환경부 지정 식물구계학적 특정식물종은 5등급 1종류, 4등급 1종류, 3등급 6종류, 2등급 3종류 및 1등급 11종류 등 모두 22 종류가 관찰되었다. 석성산에서 자라고 있는 유용식물로는 식용식물 141종류(48.1%),약용 식물 68종류(21.2%), 관상용 33종류(11.3%), 공업용 62종류(21.2%), 유독식물 2종류(0.7%)가 각각 관찰되었다. 이상과 같이 석성산은 식물상이 비교적 풍부한 것으로 조사되었으나, 도시화와 산업화에 따라 주변의 산림 식생이 상당히 파괴되어 있어 생태계 복원 대책이 시급히 요구되고 있다.

장기간 호밀을 풋거름작물로 시용한 유기농 토양의 생물학적 특징 (Biological Characteristics of Organic Soil applying Rye (Secale cereal L.) as Green Manure for the Long Term)

  • In this study, microorganism community characteristics of organic managed soil which applied rye (Secale cereal L.) as green manure for 25 years, were determined. The chemical properties of organic soil showed high level of organic matter and available $P_2O_5$, while the level of exchangeable cation was low. The analysis of dehydrogenase activity and carbon source utilization indicated that the values in on organic soil were significantly higher than those of the control. It suggested that the microorganism community of organic soil had high microorganism activity, compared to the control. In addition, when the 16S rRNA gene-targeted NGS (Next generation sequencing) analysis was conducted to estimate the class of bacterial community, the class level of bacterial taxon composition on organic soil showed higher portion of Sphingobacteriia, Acidobacteriia, Gammaproteobacteria, Solibacteres and Planctomycetia. By base on the results of various reports in which organic managed soil had high portion of Acidobacteriia and Planctomycetia, the characteristic of taxon composition in organic soil, which showed the high percentages of Ktedonobacteria, Sphingobacteriia, Acidobacteriia and Gammaproteobacteria, was resulted from the application of rye as a green manure for the long term. However, further researches were needed because the crop effect was not considered in this study.

한국산 용담과 쓴풀속(Ophelia) 식물의 분류 2. 해부학적형질 및 미세구조 (A Taxonomic study of the Ophelia D. Don(Gentianaceae) in Korea -Anatomical and ultrastructure-)

  • 한국산 쓴풀속(용담과) 식물 중 남한에 분포하는 5분류군과 변이체라 생각되는 1분류군, 총 6분류군에 대하여 줄기, 잎, 자방, 악, 자방의 횡단면, 주두, 잎표피, 주맥표면, 화관열편 표면, 밀선, 종피와 화분의 해부학적 형질과 미세구조를 조사하여 절과 종간의 한계를 분명히 하여 종 동정의 어려움을 해결하고 분류학적 위치를 설정하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 또한 북한에 분포하는 1분류군은 동경대학의 소장품을 관찰하여 분류군의 기재에 사용하였다. 연구결과, 자방의 내부구조, 밀선의 형태, 화관열편 표면의 미세구조 그리고 화분 표면의 무의 등에 의해 2개의 절로 구분되었고 밀선과 종피의 미세구조에 의해 종간의 구분이 가능하였으며, 이 형질들은 쓴풀속의 분류군들을 구별할 수 있는 매우 유용한 형질로 밝혀졌다. 변이체라고 생각되었던 큰잎쓴풀(화관 열편에 자색 점무늬를 갖는 분류군)A형은 자색 점 이외의 형질들에서는 전혀 차이를 찾아볼 수 없어 모종의 변이 폭에 넣는 것이 타당하다고 생각된다.

Identification of Lacrymaria velutina (Pers. Ex Fr.) Konrad & Maubl. from Micheon-myeon, Jinju-city, Korea

  • We identified Lacrymaria velutina of the Coprinaceae in Korea. The unusually large and sturdy fruiting body, fibrillose to fibrillose-scaly cap and stalk without a volva with an obscure superior hairy ring zone or hairy annulus, and blackish brown, warted spores distinguished this species from closely related Psathyrella species. An illustrated account of the microscopic traits is presented. Fruiting bodies with obtusely hemispherical caps, 2.5~6 cm, becoming convex with age; surface dry, densely fibrillose-scaly with split margin; stipe, 4.5~6 cm, equal, hollow, fibrillose, dry, whitish above the superior ring zone, light brown below; crowded gills, adnexed, dark black at maturity. Pileipellis typically cellular with the gill edge appearing white and beaded. Blackish brown basidiospores that discolor in concentrated sulfuric acid. Spores elliptical, warted, $9\sim11{\times}6\sim8{\mu}m$, with prominent snout-like germpores. Cheilocystidia abundant, $57\sim68{\times}19\sim25{\mu}m$, and narrowly elongated clavate, often clustered in threes or fours. Pleurocystidia rarely present, $45\sim47.5{\times}12\sim13{\mu}m$, and clavate to utriform. This trait distinguishes our sample as L. velutina from other Psathyrella spp. of the Coprinaceae, which have smooth spores. This taxon was clarified by the observation that Psathyrella spores fade in concentrated sulfuric acid. A molecular phylogenetic study revealed that our specimen was Lacrymria velutipes, which is closely related to Lacrymaria lacrymabunda. Moreover, those two species are clearly distinguishable from other Psathyrella species, which agreed with the morphologically distinctive traits described above. We believe that this is the first report of this taxon, which has not been described in Korea.

덕적군도 내 무인도서의 관속식물상 연구 (A Study on Vascular Plants of Uninhabited Islands in the Deokjeok Archipelago)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the flora of uninhabited Island in the Deokjeok Archipelago. The vascular plants which were collected in 5 times (from Jun. 2009 to Apr. 2010) were identified as 350 taxa in total, including 89 families, 231 genera, 309 species, 5 subspecies, 31 varieties, and 5 forms. There were many useful plants such as 2 taxa of Korean endemics and 2 taxa of rare plants which were proposed by the Korea Forest Service. The specially determined plants which were categorized as 5 degrees in all by the Ministry of Environment appeared as 49 taxa; Degree V was one taxon; Senecio nemorensis and IV was one taxon; Apocynum lancifolium and III was 2 taxa; Stauntonia hexaphylla, Hylotelephium spectabile and I was 45 taxa; Machilus thunbergii, Neolitsea sericea, Hedera rhombea, etc. Based on the plants which were approval objects when transfer overseas were 5 taxa, and 21 taxa of evergreen plants were recorded in the investigated area. The naturalized plants were identified as 15 taxa, and their naturalization ratio were found to be 4.2% respectively.
