Multi-Objective Pareto Optimization of Parallel Synthesis of Embedded Computer Systems

  • The paper presents problems of optimization of the synthesis of embedded systems, in particular Pareto optimization. The model of such a system for its design for high-level of abstract is based on the classic approach known from the theory of task scheduling, but it is significantly extended, among others, by the characteristics of tasks and resources as well as additional criteria of optimal system in scope structure and operation. The metaheuristic algorithm operating according to this model introduces a new approach to system synthesis, in which parallelism of task scheduling and resources partition is applied. An algorithm based on a genetic approach with simulated annealing and Boltzmann tournaments, avoids local minima and generates optimized solutions. Such a synthesis is based on the implementation of task scheduling, resources identification and partition, allocation of tasks and resources and ultimately on the optimization of the designed system in accordance with the optimization criteria regarding cost of implementation, execution speed of processes and energy consumption by the system during operation. This paper presents examples and results for multi-criteria optimization, based on calculations for specifying non-dominated solutions and indicating a subset of Pareto solutions in the space of all solutions.

AdaMM-DepthNet: Unsupervised Adaptive Depth Estimation Guided by Min and Max Depth Priors for Monocular Images

  • Unsupervised deep learning methods have shown impressive results for the challenging monocular depth estimation task, a field of study that has gained attention in recent years. A common approach for this task is to train a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) via an image synthesis sub-task, where additional views are utilized during training to minimize a photometric reconstruction error. Previous unsupervised depth estimation networks are trained within a fixed depth estimation range, irrespective of its possible range for a given image, leading to suboptimal estimates. To overcome this suboptimal limitation, we first propose an unsupervised adaptive depth estimation method guided by minimum and maximum (min-max) depth priors for a given input image. The incorporation of min-max depth priors can drastically reduce the depth estimation complexity and produce depth estimates with higher accuracy. Moreover, we propose a novel network architecture for adaptive depth estimation, called the AdaMM-DepthNet, which adopts the min-max depth estimation in its front side. Intensive experimental results demonstrate that the adaptive depth estimation can significantly boost up the accuracy with a fewer number of parameters over the conventional approaches with a fixed minimum and maximum depth range.

  • 대장암의 조기 발견과 치료를 위해서는 정확한 폴립의 분할이 중요하나 다음과 같은 제약이 따른다. 개별 폴립의 위치, 크기 및 모양이 서로 상이하며, 모션 흐림 및 빛 반사와 같은 특정 상황에서 폴립과 주변 환경 간에 상당한 정도의 유사성이 존재한다. 인코더와 디코더 역할을 하는 Convolutional Neural Networks로 구성된 U-net은 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 다양하게 사용된다. 본 연구는 보다 정확한 폴립 분할을 위한 비전트랜스포머가 포함된 U-net 아키텍처를 제안하였고, 그 결과 제안된 방식은 표준 U-net 아키텍처보다 더 나은 성능을 보였음을 확인할 수 있었다.

학교도서관 사서의 SNS활용과 업무성과의 영향요인 연구 (A Study on Influence Factors of the Task Performance with Utilizing SNS by School Librarians)

  • 이 연구는 학교도서관 사서가 자신의 과업을 수행함에 있어 SNS를 어떻게 이용하고, 과업의 특성과 1인 운영체제의 특성으로 인하여 SNS를 활용하는 것이 자신의 성과에 영향을 미치는 지를 파악하고자 하였다. 사서의 과업, SNS이용 및 성과에 대한 상관관계를 객관적으로 설명하기 위해서 기술수용모델(Technology Acceptance Model)과 과업-기술적합도(Task-Technology Fit)의 결합을 통하여 사서과업-SNS기술적합도의 모형을 제시하였다. 229건의 설문조사를 분석한 결과, 학교도서관 사서의 업무적인 SNS활용이 자신의 성과에 영향을 미친다는 것을 증명하였다. 또한 학교도서관 사서가 SNS를 활용하는 것이 단순히 개인적 취향이나 업무를 방해하는 요소만 있는 것이 아니라, 과업의 특성이나 1인 운영체제와 같은 조직의 특성으로 인해 업무성과를 향상시키는 요인이라는 것을 확인하였다.

  • SolarPACES is an international cooperative network bringing together teams of national exports from around the world to focus on the development and marketing of concentrating solar power systems (also known as solar thermal power systems). It is one of a number of collaborative programs, called Implementing Agreements, managed under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency to help find solutions to worldwide energy problems. Technology development is at the core of the work of SolarPACES. Member countries work together on activities aimed at solving the wide range of technical problems associated with commercialization of concentrating solar technology, including large-scale system tests and the development of advanced technologies, components, instrumentation, and systems analysis techniques. In addition to technology development, market development and building of awareness of the potential of concentrating solar technologies are key elements of the SolarPACES program The Implementing Agreement specifies broad "Tasks," or thematic areas of work SolarPACES currently has three ongoing tasks, focusing on concentrating solar electric power systems (Task I), solar chemistry research (Task II), and solar technology and applications (Task III). An Operating Agent, nominated by the ExCo, is responsible for overseeing the work of each task Each task maintains a detailed program of work that defines all task activities, including their objectives, participants, plans, and budgets. In addition to technical reports of the activities and their participants, accomplishments and progress are summarized in the SolarPACES annual report. Many SolarPACES activities involve close cooperation among member countries (either through sharing of task activities or, occasionally, cost-sharing), although some cooperation is limited to sharing of information and results with other participants. In this paper, structure, works, and members of SolarPACES and Korean activies in the SolarPACES are introduced.

  • In this paper, we propose a compliance control scheme using a neurofuzzzy compliance model(NFCM). as a new control paradigm for telerobot systems. A NFCM, used as a compliance controller, is composed of a fuzzy compliance model(FCM), a neural network and a low pass filter. The NFCM is trained through a reinforcement learning algorithm, and then, can generate suitable compliant motion for a given task. A series of simulations have been performed to show applicability of the proposed algorithm send it is found that the NFCM can implement suitable compliant motion for a given task through the learning procedure.

  • A rule based controller is constructed for multiple robots accomplishing a given task in unknown environments by using genetic programming. The example task is playing a simplified soccer game, and the controller for robots that governs emergent cooperative behavior is successfully found using the proposed procedure A neural network controller constructed using the rule based controller is shown to be applicable in a more complex environment.

  • Collision free task planning for dual-arm robot which perform many subtasks in a common work space can be achieved in two steps : path planning and trajectory planning. path planning finds the order of tasks for each robot to minimize path lengths as well as to avoid collision with static obstacles. A trajectory planning strategy is to let each robot move along its path as fast as possible and delay one robot at its initial position or reduce speed at the middle of its path to avoid collision with the other robot.

  • SNS가 사회전체에 미치는 영향이 커지면서 기업들도 SNS의 신속성, 공유성, 상호작용성 등에 관심을 갖고, 이를 어떻게 활용할 것인가에 대해 고민하기 시작했다. 본 연구도 SNS의 업무적 활용에 초점을 두고 과업 지원도구인 SNS와 과업과의 적합성, 사용자특성 그리고 성과와의 관계를 실증하고자 한다. 연구를 위해 과업-기술적합모형을 토대로 사회적 요소, 정보기술로서 SNS의 특성 그리고 사용자 특성을 고려하여 연구모형을 제안하였다. 연구결과 과업-매체 적합성에 직무특성, 가상능숙도, 매체특성 모두 유의한 영향관계를 가지며, SNS이용에는 가상능숙도와 SNS 특성 변수가 유의한 영향관계를 보였다. 또한 과업-매체 적합성은 SNS이용과 업무성과에, SNS이용은 업무성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 SNS의 전략적 활용은 업무성과 향상에 도움이 되며, SNS활용 전략 수립시에 개인특성이 고려되어야 함을 시사하고 있다.
