Measuring performance of corporate information system has become one of the core issues in that development of the information system requires substantial amount of investments and the system works as a crucial leverage to enhance competitive edge. Most of the previous researches for performance of the information system have narrow and limited focus on such as the effect of user satisfaction and productivity. This paper suggests a model to measures the comprehensive performance which is classified as user scope (user involvement and satisfaction), operational scope (task productivity, task innovation, customer satisfaction, management control) and efficiency scope (financial performance), and to represent the relationship among the scopes by the path analysis model. Followings are conclusions from statistical hypothesis test of the model: (i) user involvement through user satisfaction has positive effect on all the performances in the operational scope, (ii) task innovation and customer satisfaction in the operational scope has statistically significant impact on financial performance but task productivity and management control do not. This conclusion indicates that task productivity and management control has the long term effect in nature, and evaluation of the information system has managerial implication when it Is measured in comprehensive performance which includes internal operational performances as well as financial performance.

Dynamic task scheduling is one of the most popular research topics in the cloud computing field. The cloud scheduler dynamically provides VM resources to variable cloud tasks with different scheduling strategies in cloud computing. In this study, we utilized a valid model to describe the dynamic changes of both computing facilities (such as hardware updating) and request task queuing. We built a novel approach called Policy Iteration Scheduling (PIS) to globally optimize the independent task scheduling scheme and minimize the total execution time of priority tasks. We performed experiments with randomly generated cloud task sets and varied the performance of VM resources using Poisson distributions. The results show that PIS outperforms other popular schedulers in a typical cloud computing environment.
Among several theories to explain how different communication media affect task performance, media richness theory(MRT) is one of the most frequently cited. Recent studies related to the use of communication media, however, have raised the question of the effectiveness of the MRT as a predictor of media choices or of individual effectiveness. The objective of this research is to examine the assumptions of the MRT. MRT proposes that the properties of media are objective in other words, they are inherent and physical attributes recognizable by users. This study experiments on the effects of task characteristics and medium experience on the perceived media richness and social presence. The results of this study did not support the assumptions of the MRT. There was an interaction effects of task characteristics and medium experience on both the perceived media richness and social presence. While the inexperienced computer-mediated communication(CMC) group perceives their medium richer for the unequivocal task, the experienced CMC group perceives their medium equally for the equivocal and the unequivocal task.

Recent multi-core processors for smart devices use per-core dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) that enables independent voltage and frequency control of cores. However, because the conventional task scheduler was originally designed for per-core DVFS disabled processors, it cannot effectively utilize the per-core DVFS and simply allocates tasks evenly across all cores to core utilization with the same CPU frequency. Hence, we propose a novel task scheduler to effectively utilize percore DVFS, which enables each core to have the appropriate frequency, thereby improving performance and decreasing energy consumption. The proposed scheduler classifies applications into two types, based on performance-sensitivity and allows a performance-sensitive application to have a dedicated core, which maximizes core utilization. The experimental evaluations with a real off-the-shelf smart device showed that the proposed task scheduler reduced 13.6% of CPU energy (up to 28.3%) and 3.4% of execution time (up to 24.5%) on average, as compared to the conventional task scheduler.
To address the problems of large system overhead and low timeliness when dealing with task scheduling in mobile edge cloud computing, a task scheduling and resource management strategy for edge cloud computing based on an improved genetic algorithm was proposed. First, a user task scheduling system model based on edge cloud computing was constructed using the Shannon theorem, including calculation, communication, and network models. In addition, a multi-objective optimization model, including delay and energy consumption, was constructed to minimize the sum of two weights. Finally, the selection, crossover, and mutation operations of the genetic algorithm were improved using the best reservation selection algorithm and normal distribution crossover operator. Furthermore, an improved legacy algorithm was selected to deal with the multi-objective problem and acquire the optimal solution, that is, the best computing task scheduling scheme. The experimental analysis of the proposed strategy based on the MATLAB simulation platform shows that its energy loss does not exceed 50 J, and the time delay is 23.2 ms, which are better than those of other comparison strategies.

The purpose of this study is to identify a relationship between the time taken and the characteristics of touch key for touch-screen-based in-vehicle information system (IVIS) and to suggest a new Fitts' law formula that is added a driving speed parameter. Many studies already have shown that Fitts' law is well fitted in various devices for primary tasks, but there is no study of Fitts' law for secondary task in dual-task situation. Fitts' law may not be applied to the secondary task as it is, because the secondary task performance can be affected by the amount of attention for the primary task. To verify this, we carried out an experiment that showed whether pointing task to touch-screen-based IVIS during driving is affected by driving speeds or not. In the experiment, 30 people were volunteered for participants and the participants carried out driving task and pointing task on the screen of IVIS simultaneously. We measured the time to point a touch key on IVIS for every condition (3 driving speeds${\times}5$ touch key sizes${\times}7$ distances between steering wheel and touch key). As a result, there was an effect of driving speed on the pointing time. As we extended the index of difficulty of the conventional Fitts' law formula by incorporating driving speed, we established an extended Fitts' law formula for pointing on IVIS, which showed better accordance with dual task situation. This study can be evidence that secondary task performance is affected by degree of concentration on primary task, and the extended Fitts' law formula can be useful to design interfaces of IVIS.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of leader-member exchange(LMX) on employees' creativity, and task performance focusing on the mediating effect of information sharing and job involvement. Based on the review of related references, we suggested our research model and hypothesis and then tested empirically. From these analyses, we can find some significant findings. First, LMX has a positive impact on information sharing. Second, information sharing has a positive impact on job involvement, creativity, and task performance. Third, information sharing has significant mediating effects on the relationship between LMX and job involvement, creativity, and task performance. Fourth, job involvement also has significant mediating effects on the relationship between information sharing and creativity and task performance. These results showed that information sharing and job involvement played their role as a meaningful mediator.
Social communications using information and communication technologies (ICT) for social interactions have been making a significant impact on task performance in organizations. However, most of the existing studies on ICT (e.g., telephone and email) have only focused on technical improvement of communication efficiencies (e.g., information exchange and storage). In this paper, we claim that ICT may be another alternative source of knowledge creation that enables employees to work, find solutions, and achieve their goals faster and better. We investigate the impact of ICT in terms of both tasks and social aspects with knowledge creation as task performance. Also, we investigate the moderating effect of media synchronicity on these relationships. This study contributes to the understanding of contemporary communications media usage and its performance in organizations. We collected and analyzed survey data of 248 company employees, using PLS. The results indicate that task urgency and social influence directly affect ICT usage, and even knowledge creation. Also the media synchronicity moderates the relationship between the characteristics of a given task and ICT usage and the relationship between ICT usage and knowledge creation. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are also discussed in the paper.
We use three sensors such as a vision sensor, a proximity sensor, and a force/torque sensor fused by fuzzy logic in a peg-in-hole task. The vision and proximity sensors are usually used for gross motion control and the information is used here to position the peg around the hole. The force/torque sensor is used for fine motion control and the information is used to insert the peg into the hole precisely. Throughout the task, the information of all the three sensors is fused by a fuzzy logic controller. Some simulation results are also presented for verification.

Work environments have been changed with the advent of new technologies, such as computer technology. However, human cognitive limits can't pace up with the change of work environment. Designing human-computer system requires knowledge and evaluation of the human cognitive processes which control information flow workload. Futhermore, under limited reaction time and/or urgent situation, human operator may the work stress, work error and resultant deleterious work environment. This paper evaluate the visual factors of major information processing factors(information density, amount of information, operational speed of speed)on operator performance of supervisory control under urgent(limited reaction time)environments which require deleterious work condition. To describe the work performance int the urgent work situations with time stress and dynamic event occurrence, a new concept of information density was introduced. For a series of experiments performed for this study, three independent variables(information amount, system proceeding speed, information density) were evaluated using five dependent variables. The result of statistical analyses indicate that the amount of information affected on all of five dependent measure. Number of failure and number of secondary task score were influenced by both amount of information and operational speed of system. However reaction time of secondary task were affected by both amount of information and information density. As a result, the deleterious factors for the performances seemed to be a scanning time to supervise each control panel. Consequently, a new display panel was suggest to reduce operator work load for scanning task showing better operator performance.
