Bio-inspired robot swarm control algorithm for dynamic environment monitoring

  • To monitor the environment and determine the source of a pollutant gradient using a multiple robot swarm, we propose a hybrid algorithm that combines two bio-inspired algorithms mimicking chemotaxis and pheromones of bacteria. The algorithm is implemented in virtual robot agents in a simulator to evaluate their feasibility and efficiency in gradient maps with different sizes. Simulation results show that the chemotaxis controller guided robot agents to the locations with higher pollutant concentrations, while the pheromone marked in a virtual field increased the efficiency of the search by reducing the visiting redundancy. The number of steps required to reach the target point did not increase proportionally as the map size increased, but were less than those in the linear whole-map search method. Furthermore, the robot agents could function with simple sensor composition, minimum information about the map, and low calculation capacity.

수소경제 활성화 로드맵 달성에 따른 교통 부문의 대기오염원 저감 효과 분석 (Air Pollutant Reduction Effect on Road Mobility in Hydrogen Economy Era)

  • This study evaluated the effect of improving the atmospheric environment based on the premise that the supply of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV) will be achieved as many as the number of vehicles presented in the hydrogen economy activation roadmap announced by the Korean government in January 2019. The HFCV supply target (2.7 million passenger cars) suggested in the hydrogen economy revitalization roadmap was logically allocated to the five major metropolitan areas in Korea. Air pollution damage costs by region were calculated by reflecting the basic unit of damage cost to the estimated air pollutant emissions. As a result, it was confirmed that the benefits per unit of some cities in Gyeonggi-do were derived more than major cities in the metropolitan area.

부하지속곡선을 이용한 비점오염원 우선관리 지역 선정 및 관리목표 설정 연구 (Identifying Priority Area for Nonpoint Source Pollution Management and Setting up Load Reduction Goals using the Load Duration Curve)

  • The objective of this study is to identify the priority area where the nonpoint source pollution (NPS) management is required and to set up the load reduction goals for the identified priority area. In this study, the load duration curve (LDC) was first developed using the flow and water quality data observed at 286 monitoring stations. Based on the developed LDC, the priority area for the NPS pollution management was determined using a three-step method. The 24 watersheds were finally identified as the priority areas for the NPS pollution management. The water quality parameters of concern in the priority areas were the total phosphorus or chemical oxygen demand. The load reduction goals, which were calculated as the percent reduction from current loading levels needed to meet target water quality, ranged from 67.9% to 97.2% during high flows and from 40.3% to 69.5% during moist conditions, respectively. The results from this study will help to identify critical watersheds for NPS program planning purposes. In addition, the process used in this study can be effectively applied to identify the pollutant of concern as well as the load reduction target.

수질오염총량관리계획 수립을 위한 유달부하량 추정방법 연구 (A Study on Estimated Pollutant Delivery Load for the Basic Plan of TPLC)

  • Total Pollution Load Control (TPLC) calculates and manages the allowable pollutant load that is discharged from the watershed, which can meet the water quality target. Delivery Ratio (DR) is generally used for predicting the variation of pollutant mass balance between the pollutants discharged from the watershed and a certain point in the stream, and it is very important for estimation of accurate allowable pollutant load. The concept of DR in TPLC is different from prevalent DR, because DR in TPLC includes both the discharge of pollutants from the watershed and the delivery mechanism. Therefore, DR in TPLC should be estimated by using a proper and unified methodology. The appropriate method and equation for estimation of DR in TPLC was developed through the review of various methodologies, and the applicability of the equation was evaluated in a study area (Geumho A). Determination coefficients (R2) of regression were shown to be relatively high (BOD 0.71~0.87, T-N 0.86~0.90, T-P 0.62~0.69). Applicability of the developed methodology and equations was evaluated as appropriate for TPLC, and it is suggested.

장기간 유량측정 자료를 이용한 경안천의 부하지속곡선 특성 (Analysis of Load Duration Curve Using Long Time Flow Measurement Data of Kyeongancheon)

  • 장기간 유량측정과 수질분석은 수질오염총량관리제도 유역의 목표수질과 허용 부하량을 결정하기 위하여 필요하다. 목표수질 달성여부를 평가하는데 사용되는 부하지속곡선은 유량과 수질간의 관계를 설명하고, 유량조건별 오염부하량 특성을 평가한다. 경안천의 부하지속곡선은 경안천 목표수질과 2006년부터 2015년까지 연평균 8일 간격으로 측정한 유량자료를 이용한 유량지속곡선에 의해서 작성되었다. 연구결과 경안천은 갈수량 구간에서 목표수질을 초과하여 점오염원에 대한 관리가 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 연중 3월에서 6월 사이의 기간 동안에만 목표수질을 초과하는 것으로 나타나 이 기간 동안 경안천의 목표수질을 달성하기 위한 체계적인 유역 관리가 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

  • 국내에서도 대기중 VOC 측정이 정부 차원에서 각 지역별로 이루어지도록 법적 시행이 2000년부터 이루질 예정이다. VOC 분석에서 가장 필요한 것은 VOC분석용 표준물질인데 이는 매우 고가로서 모두 수입에 의존하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 앞으로 시행된 대기중 VOC 측정 대상 화합물중 10개의 HAP(hazardous air pollutant) target화합물이 함유된 저농도 ppb level의 HAP CRM을 개발하였다.(중략)

  • We try to distribute air pollution sources at target area. The complex method is used to distribute air pollution sources. Most of people, However, want to simple indicator as standard for express air pollution source. In many area, air pollution is caused by different types of sources. The general type is point source, such as tall stack of power plants and oil refineries stacks. A second type is areal source, such as local industry and transportation. In this aspect, the ratio of sulfur dioxide to nitrogen oxides (RSN =SO$_2$/NOx)is an indicator of air pollution source. the role of this ratio is to show the characteristics at target area of the relationship the point and the areal source. 투수성 포장재와 비점오염저감시설의 삭감부하량 특징 비교 (Reduced Loads Characteristics Comparison Between Permeable Pavement and Non-point Pollutants Treatment Facility)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 추세에 맞춰 개발사업시 장치형 및 자연형등의 인위적인 비점오염저감시설이 아닌 시설지를 투수성 포장재를 사용할 경우 얻어지는 효과를 분석하여, 설계 및 시공시 투수성 포장재 적용을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 그 방법으로 개발시 대상지의 면적을 불투수성과 투수성 개발로 분리 적용하여 삭감오염부하량 및 설치 공사비의 경제성을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 비점오염원의 처리용량 및 삭감부하량은 투수성 및 불투수성 개발에 많은 영향을 받으며, 개발시 비점오염저 감시설을 장치형이나 자연형을 단독으로 설치하기 보다는 처리대상 유역을 투수성 지역으로 개발하는 것이 배출부하량이 적은것으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 개발시 비점오염의 관리를 위해 불투수율 면적비를 일정수준으로 제한하는 대책을 수립하면 개발에 따른 오염원의 최소화가 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

전력수급기본계획의 불확실성과 CO2 배출 목표를 고려한 발전용 천연가스 장기전망과 대책 (Scenario Analysis of Natural Gas Demand for Electricity Generation in Korea)

  • This study organizes scenarios on the power supply plans and electricity load forecasts considering their uncertainties and estimates natural gas quantity for electricity generation, total electricity supply cost and air pollutant emission of each scenario. Also the analysis is performed to check the properness of government's natural gas demand forecast and the possibility of achieving the government's CO2 emission target with the current plan and other scenarios. In result, no scenario satisfies the government's CO2 emission target and the natural gas demand could be doubled to the government's forecast. As under-forecast of natural gas demand has caused the increased natural gas procurement cost, it is required to consider uncertainties of power plant construction plan and electricity demand forecast in forecasting the natural gas demand. In addition, it is found that CO2 emission target could be achieved by enlarging natural gas use and demand-side management without big increase of total costs.

철도 터널구간 애자류 오염도 분석에 관한 연구 (A research on the tunnel insulator pollution characteristic in Korea Railroad)

  • This paper introduces insulator pollutant accumulate pattern in the tunnel of korea railroad. To accomplish this goal, effective sample collecting method was proposed for the first step. Dust at the surface was collected directly. Distilled water and brush was used while collecting. Through this method dust is easily and accurately collected. The second step is pollutant analysis. Several analyze item is selected such as quantity, conductivity, contact angle, Optical Microscope(OM), IR, Equivalent Salt Deposit Density(ESDD), and ICP-AES. The third step, best represent tunnel was selected considering location, length and natural surroundings. Also to consider the difference at inside the tunnel, several bracket insulators were selected along to the location. To make the result precise, above procedure was repeated several times at the same target. Finally relation among type of train, numbers of movement, surroundings, length will be considered in combination with the pollution. With this result pollute map for KORAIL could be accomplished and inspect period will be optimized case by case.
