레이저 도플러 진동계를 이용한 진동변위와 주파수 측정방법 연구 (A Study on the method for the measurement of vibrating amplitude and frequency with Laser Doppler Vibrometer)

  • A Laser Doppler Vibrometer(LDV) was developed using He-Ne laser as a light source. The heterodyne method was employed and its output signal was digitally processed with a $\mu$-processor and the result was displayed with LCD. The frequency shifted object beam(40 MHz) by a Bragg cell was focused on the surface of the moving target and the Doppler shifted reflected beam was recombined with reference beam at the fast photodetector to produce frequency modulated signal centered at 40 MHz. The signal from the detector was amplified and downconverted to intermediate frequency centered at 1 MHz after mixing process. The voltage output that was proportional to the velocity of the moving surface was obtained using PLL. With the same method, the fringe pattern signal of the moving surface is obtained. This fringe pattern signal is converted to TTL signal with ZCD(zero-crossing detector) and then counted to calculate the displacement due to the vibration, which is displayed with LCD. This LDV can be used to measure the resonant frequency of the electric equipments such as circuit breakers and transformers, of which resonant frequencies are changed when they are damaged.

  • A methodology is proposed to estimate a trajectory of a flying target and its velocity using the time and frequency analysis of the acoustic signal. The measurement of sound emitted from a flying acoustic source with a microphone above a ground shall receive both direct and ground-reflected sound waves. For certain frequency contents, the destructive interference happens in received signal waveform reflected path lengths are in multiple integers of direct path length. This phenomenon is referred to as the acoustical mirror effect and it can be observed in a spectrogram plot. The spectrogram of acoustic measurement for a flying vehicle measurement shows several orders of destructive interference curves. The first or second order of curve is used to find the best approximate path by using nonlinear least-square method. Simulated acoustic signal is generated for the condition of known geometric of a sensor and a source in flight. The estimation based on cepstrogram analysis provides more accurate estimate than spectrogram.

  • We suggest a multi-path propagation analysis method using DTM(Digital Terrain Map). Generally, the total signal strength at a target is calculated by adding the field propagated in free space and the field reflected from the ground surface. In this paper, we also consider the vertical reflections associated with the vertical surfaces such as precipitous cliffs and electricity pylons in the mountain area. In addition, we primarily take account the main slope of the ground surface to improve the accuracy of the total field density at the target.

  • A Doppler radar is a radar using the doppler effect of the returned echoes from targets to measure their radial velocity. To be more specific the microwave signal sent by the radar antenna's directional beam is reflected toward the radar and compared in frequency, up or down from the original signal, allowing for the direct and highly accurate measurement of target velocity component in the direction of the beam. In this paper, we designed the doppler radar composed of 10.5 GHz band DROs(Dielectric Resonator Oscillator), $90^{\circ}C$ branch line coupler, single balanced mixer and $4{\times}4$ array antenna of high gain, high directivity, for non-contact type hydrometer. Fabricated Doppler radar can detect slow moving objects.

The signal from the detector was amplified, filtered and downconverted to intermediate frequency centered at 5 MHz. The voltage output that was proportional to the velocity of the moving surface was obtained using PLL. This LDV can be used to measure the resonant frequency of the electric equipments such as circuit breakers and bushings, of which resonant frequencies are changed when they are damaged.

박쥐의 먹이 탐지 전략을 모방한 초음파 센서의 물체 위치 추정 (Ultrasound Echolocation Inspired by a Prey Detection Strategy of Big Brown Bats)

  • It is known that big brown bats can distinguish echo of a prey at various angles. In this paper, we suggest a new object localization strategy using ultrasonic echolocation. We calculate the relative energy ratio between a high frequency component of ultrasound signal and a low frequency component of ultrasound signal for a target object. We found the measure depends on bearing angle of the object in space. We also tested energy ratio of echoed FM ultrasound signals depending on frequency, based on cross-correlation. It can determine the relative angular position of objects even though the reflected signals are congested form each object.

In-orbit Stray Light Analysis for Step and Stare observation at Geostationary Orbit

  • In the remote sensing researches, the reflected bright source such as snow, cloud have effects on the image quality of wanted signal. Even though those signal from bright source are adjusted in corresponding pixel level with atmospheric correction algorithm or radiometric correction, those can be problem to the nearby signal as one of the stray light source. Especially, in the step and stare observational method which makes one mosaic image with several snap shots, one of target area can affect next to the other snap shot each other. Presented in this paper focused on the stray light analysis from unwanted reflected bright source for geostationary ocean color sensor. The stray light effect for total 16 slot images each other were performed according to 8 band filters. For the realistic simulation, we constructed system modeling with integrated ray tracing technique which realizes the same space time in the remote sensing observation among the Sun, the Earth, and the satellite. Computed stray light effect in the results of paper demonstrates the distinguishable radiance value at the specific time and space.

전자파를 이용한 목표물의 특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Target Characteristics Using Electromagnetic Waves)

  • 안테나에서 송출된 전자파 신호는 목표물로부터 반사되어져 수신된다. 이러한 반사 신호는 유전율 차이 등 목표물들의 물질 종류에 따라 서로 다른 특징들을 나타내게 된다. 따라서 이러한 반사 신호들의 특징들을 잘 활용하면 목표물들의 특성을 파악할 수 있다. 즉 위험 물질들의 분류 및 검사를 위하여 이러한 방법을 적용할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실험을 통하여 획득한 이러한 반사파 신호들의 특징을 활용하여 상관성(correlation)을 도출함으로서 그 특성, 즉 위험 물질들을 판단할 수 있는 방법을 고찰하고자 한다. 이러한 상관성에 의한 판단 방법은 특정 목표물에 대한 기준 신호의 저장을 필요로 하지만 비교적 신뢰할 수 있는 결과들을 보여준다. 그러므로 이러한 수신신호들의 상관성을 이용한 방법을 적용한다면 위험물질들의 구별 및 분류 등에 폭 넓게 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

Factor Graph-based Multipath-assisted Indoor Passive Localization with Inaccurate Receiver

  • Passive wireless devices have increasing civilian and military applications, especially in the scenario with wearable devices and Internet of Things. In this paper, we study indoor localization of a target equipped with radio-frequency identification (RFID) device in ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless networks. With known room layout, deterministic multipath components, including the line-of-sight (LOS) signal and the reflected signals via multipath propagation, are employed to locate the target with one transmitter and a single inaccurate receiver. A factor graph corresponding to the joint posterior position distribution of target and receiver is constructed. However, due to the mixed distribution in the factor node of likelihood function, the expressions of messages are intractable by directly applying belief propagation on factor graph. To this end, we approximate the messages by Gaussian distribution via minimizing the Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) between them. Accordingly, a parametric message passing algorithm for indoor passive localization is derived, in which only the means and variances of Gaussian distributions have to be updated. Performance of the proposed algorithm and the impact of critical parameters are evaluated by Monte Carlo simulations, which demonstrate the superior performance in localization accuracy and the robustness to the statistics of multipath channels.

GNSS와 Vision System의 최적 융합 분석 (Analysis of Optimum Integration on the GNSS and the Vision System)

  • 본 논문은 GNSS의 문제점인 위치오차와 실외음영지역을 해소하기 위하여 GNSS와 vision system을 융합한 신뢰성있는 고정밀 측위와 최적의 vision system을 분석하였다. 위치결정을 위해서는 최소 4개 이상의 GNSS로부터 신호를 수신 받아야 한다. 그러나 도심지역에서는 고층건물이나 장애물 또는 반사파에 의해 정확한 위치가 어렵다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 vision system을 이용한다. GNSS를 사용하기 열악한 도심지역의 target object에 정확한 위치 값을 결정해 놓는다. 그리고 vision system을 이용해 target object를 인식하고, 인식된 target object를 이용하여 위치오차를 보정해 준다. 이동체는 이동 중 vision system을 이용하여 target object를 인식하여 위치 데이터 값을 만들어내고, 위치 계산을 수정하여 안정되고 신뢰성 있는 고정밀 측위를 할 수 있다.
