  • In most cases, the routing policy of networks shows a preference for a static one-to-one mapping of communication pairs to routing paths, which offers adversaries a great advantage to conduct thorough reconnaissance and organize an effective attack in a stress-free manner. With the evolution of network intelligence, some flexible and adaptive routing policies have already proposed to intensify the network defender to turn the situation. Routing mutation is an effective strategy that can invalidate the unvarying nature of routing information that attackers have collected from exploiting the static configuration of the network. However, three constraints execute press on routing mutation deployment in practical: insufficient route mutation space, expensive control costs, and incompatibility. To enhance the availability of route mutation, we propose an OpenFlow-based route mutation technique called Polymorphic Path Transferring (PPT), which adopts a physical and virtual path segment mixed construction technique to enlarge the routing path space for elevating the security of communication. Based on the Markov Decision Process, with considering flows distribution in the network, the PPT adopts an evolution routing path scheduling algorithm with a segment path update strategy, which relieves the press on the overhead of control and incompatibility. Our analysis demonstrates that PPT can secure data delivery in the worst network environment while countering sophisticated attacks in an evasion-free manner (e.g., advanced persistent threat). Case study and experiment results show its effectiveness in proactively defending against targeted attacks and its advantage compared with previous route mutation methods.

  • Recently, as a countermeasure for cyber breach attacks and confidential leak incidents on PC hard disk memory storage data of the metaverse industry, it is required when reviewing and developing a remote-based regular/real-time monitoring and analysis security system. The reason for this is that more than 90% of information security leaks occur on edge-end PCs, and tangible and intangible damage, such as an average of 1.20 billion won per metaverse industrial security secret leak (the most important facts and numerical statistics related to 2018 security, 10.2018. the same time as responding to the root of the occurrence of IT WORLD on the 16th, as it becomes the target of malicious code attacks that occur in areas such as the network system web due to interworking integration when building IT infrastructure, Deep-Access-based regular/real-time remote. The concept of memory analysis and audit system is key.

  • This paper proposes a technique for detecting a significant threat that attempts to get sensitive and confidential information such as usernames, passwords, credit card information, and more to target an individual or organization. By definition, a phishing attack happens when malicious people pose as trusted entities to fraudulently obtain user data. Phishing is classified as a type of social engineering attack. For a phishing attack to happen, a victim must be convinced to open an email or a direct message [1]. The email or direct message will contain a link that the victim will be required to click on. The aim of the attack is usually to install malicious software or to freeze a system. In other instances, the attackers will threaten to reveal sensitive information obtained from the victim. Phishing attacks can have devastating effects on the victim. Sensitive and confidential information can find its way into the hands of malicious people. Another devastating effect of phishing attacks is identity theft [1]. Attackers may impersonate the victim to make unauthorized purchases. Victims also complain of loss of funds when attackers access their credit card information. The proposed method has two major subsystems: (1) Data collection: different websites have been collected as a big data corresponding to normal and phishing dataset, and (2) distributed detection system: different artificial algorithms are used: a neural network algorithm and machine learning. The Amazon cloud was used for running the cluster with different cores of machines. The experiment results of the proposed system achieved very good accuracy and detection rate as well.

  • This study shows a limit to attacks that the prevention system, which is used as the mutual third aggressive packet path between open heterogeneous networks and applies prevention techniques according to the trace like IP tracking and attack methods, can prevent. Therefore, the study aims to learn information of constant attack routing protocol and of the path in network, the target of attack and build a database by encapsulating networks information routing protocol operates in order to prevent source attack paths. In addition, the study is conducted to divide network routing protocols developed from the process of dividing the various attack characters and prevent various attacks. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes attack path network and attacks of each routing protocol and secure exact mechanism for prevention by means of 3D-Puzzle, Path, and Cube of the integrated security system which is an implementation method of integrated information protection for access network defense.

  • Recently many important systems that used to be operated in a closed environment are now providing web services and these kinds of web-based services are often an easy and common target of attacks. In addition, the great variety of web content and applications cause the development of new various intrusion technologies, while the misuse-based intrusion detection technology cannot keep the peace with the attacks and it seems to lack the capability to deal with such various new security threats, As a result it is necessary to research and develop new types of detection technologies that can detect newly developed attacks and intrusions as well as to be able to deal with previous types of exploits. In this paper, a HTTP traffic model is tested for its anomaly by using a HTTP request traffic pattern analysis and the field information analysis of the HTTP packet. Consequently, the HTTP traffic models by applying anomaly tests is designed and established.

  • Most of computer systems to be connected to network have been exposed to some network attacks and became to targets of system attack. System managers have established the IDS to prevent the system attacks over network. The previous IDS have decided intrusions detecting the requested connection packets more than critical values in order to detect attacks. This techniques have False Positive possibilities and have difficulties to detect the slow scan increasing the time between sending scan probes and the coordinated scan originating from multiple hosts. We propose the port scan detection rules detecting the RST/ACK flag packets to request some abnormal connections and design the data structures capturing some of packets. This proposed system is decreased a False Positive possibility and can detect the slow scan, because a few data can be maintained for long times. This system can also detect the coordinated scan effectively detecting the RST/ACK flag packets to be occurred the target system.

  • In modern society, the development of Information and Communication Technology has given people a lot of opportunities. But on the other side cyber attack also gives enormous damage to people. Recently Korea has become the target of cyber attack. The threat of it is growing. Especially North Korea has committed hostile actions against South Korea. North Korea has recently attacked the computer networks of South Korea's important national facilities. The types of North Korea's cyber attacks include the followings. First, if we see it with the viewpoint of software, it tries to destroy or control the Internet, infects the networks with viruses, worms, Trojan Horse and Distributed Denial of Service. I suggest the following to solve the problem. First, South Korea should unify the organizations to respond to the attacks of North Korea, as North Korea has a unified organization for the cyber attack. Second, they should think about the establishment of "Cyber Terrorism Prevention Act" to systematically respond to the software attacks.

  • Over the past two decades suicide terrorism has become an ever-widening phenomenon. When suicide terrorism was first introduced in the Middle East it seemed that this new phenomenon was invincible and that it might change the innate imbalance between terror groups and their rivalry governments. This did not in fact occur. Looking at history of terrorism, it can be seen that suicide attacks are in actuality a very old modus operandi. However, contemporary suicide terrorism differs from such historical tactics, just as the whole phenomenon of terrorism differs from ancient modes of warfare. Modern suicide terrorism is aimed at causing devastating physical damage. through which it inflicts profound fear and anxiety. Its goal is to produce a negative psychological effect on an entire population rather than just the victims of the actual attack. The relatively high number of casualties guaranteed in such attacks, which are usually carried out in crowded areas, ensures full media coverage. Thus, suicide terrorism, ranks with other spectacular modus operandi such as blowing up airplanes in mid air or the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction as a sure means to win maximum effect. For the purposes of this paper a suicide terror attack is defined as a politically motivated violent attack perpetrated by a self-aware individual (or individuals) who actively and purposely causes his own death through blowing himself up along with his chosen target. The perpetrator's ensured death is a precondition for the success of his mission. The greatest potential risk suicide terrorism may pose in future is if terrorists carry out operations combined with other spectacular tactics such as blowing up airplanes or the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Such a combination will increase immensely the death toll of a single terror attack and will have a shocking psychological effect on public moral. At this level suicide terrorism would constitute a genuine strategic threat and would probably be confronted as such. This study portrays a general overview of the modern history of suicide terror activity worldwide, focusing on its main characteristics and the various aims and motivations of the terror groups involved. In addition, This study provides an overview what is to be done to prevent such terrorist attacks.

  • This paper presents a new watermarking scheme that is robust against geometrical attacks such as translation and rotation. The proposed method is based on the conventional PSADT(Polar Coordinates Shape Adaptive Discrete Transform) method which is an robust watermarking scheme for an arbitrarily-shaped image such as character images. The PSADT method shows perfect robustness against geometrical attack if there is no change in the shape of the image object. However, it cannot be utilized to watermark general rectangular images because of the missing alignment between the watermarked signals in the embedding and extracting side. To overcome this problem we propose a new watermarking scheme that aligns the watermark signal using the image inherent feature, especially corner. Namely the proposed method decides a consistent target region whose shape and position isn't changed by any malicious attack and then embeds the watermark in it using the PSADT method. Experimental results show the robustness of the proposed method against geometrical attacks as well as image compression.

  • It is known that memory has been frequently a target threatening the computer system's security while attacks on the system utilizing the memory's weakness are actually increasing. Accordingly, various memory protection mechanisms have been studied on OS while new attack techniques bypassing the protection systems have been developed. Especially, buffer overflow attacks have been developed as attacks of Return to Library or Return-Oriented Programing and recently, a technique bypassing the countermeasure against Return-Oriented Programming proposed. Therefore, this paper is intended to suggest a detection mechanism at binary level by analyzing the procedure and features of Jump-Oriented Programming. In addition, we have implemented the proposed detection mechanism and experimented it may efficiently detect Jump-Oriented Programming attack.
