  • The purpose of this research is to study methods for performing transition that have visual representation of corresponding animations with no bounce in subsequently recognized user information when attempting to interact with a virtual 3D character in real-time using user motion. If the transitions of the animation are needed owing to a variety of external environments, continuous recognition of user information is required to correspond to the motion. The proposed method includes linear interpolation of the transition using cross-fades and blending techniques. The normalized playing time of the source animation was utilized for automatically calculating the transition interpolation length of the target animation and also as the criteria in selecting the crossfades and blending techniques. In particular, in the case of blending, the weighting value based on the degree of similarity between two animations is used as a blending parameter. Accordingly, transitions for visually excellent animation are performed on interactive holographic projection systems.

  • There has been not the research on the reason of success based on the characteristic of narrative and characters of , I defined the major characteristic of this genre as family animation, and aimed at researching strategic character and narrative. The characteristics of each characters are identified, and compared with other animation, soap opera, and sitcom. The portion that characters participated in the narrative was analyzed, and the relationship between the point and viewers was also researched in the specific episodes. 1) The characters against the ideal ones function to satirize the fixed idea pursued by the mass, and stimulate the viewers' desire. 2) All the characters are protagonist and sometimes antagonist, or advisor. The circulating position expands the target of viewers, and decreases the cultural discount. 3) It produces a couple of layered narrative, then children, teenagers, and adults enjoy the each different depth of the narrative, resulted in the target expansion. Considering on the limit of theme and target in Korean animation, I expect the findings above will enable to produce more valuable and consistent contents. Later, characters in the Korean family animation is to be researched and the expandability and sustainability would be ensured.

  • This study is for making new story contents in animation fields through recent theater's animation trends. It is the Anti-Disney which is totally different from the attribute of Disney animation. It has three results as following. The first, Anti-Disneymation reveals the realistic America's problems such as violence, adolescent's loneliness, the slums of black people, etc. Next, animation's main target changed from just for child to for adults using various story themes. Also, the main characters are no longer beautiful and charming one like Disney animation's one and it makes we look at the matter woman another angle and makes totally different story telling. By the results above, we might to making an effort in creating Korean style animation with lyrical expression and cultural assets.

  • Since the great success of the Disney animations like , the classification of audience target in animation according to an age group started a possibility of edutainment in the industry. Especially, a few animations for preschool children made by Korea have been largely successful in domestic and foreign markets. The study analyzed a distinguished structure of a story stressed by character by Greimas's theories in the educational animation. The animation for kids as this study target is one of successful contents in edutainment. It also analyzed as one of parallel contents in abroad. It is a meaningful study which considers a story structure of the animation as aspects of edutainment contents for preschool children.

  • This paper proposes a GPU-based approach to real-time skinning animation of large crowds, where each character is animated independently of the others. In the first pass of the proposed approach, skinning is done by a pixel shader and the transformed vertex data are written into the render target texture. With the transformed vertices, the second pass renders the large crowds. The proposed approach is attractive for real-time applications such as video games.

  • According to Korea Socity of Cartoon&Animation studies research material, consumer's preference degree about animation genre answered that investigation target's 50% is doing basis in interest. Animation has various factor of interest induction, but we can count as person's action scene among them. Laying stress on Japan animation 'Offended ghost princess' and 'New century Ebangerion', this research Analyze identifying special feature and difference of transfer form of person(object) that show in cut away of action scene, and Recognized whether diagnostic expressions by the result influence as dynamic element to actuality consumers.

  • This paper addresses the task of transferring facial blendshape models to an arbitrary target face. Blendshape is a common method for the facial rig; however, production of blendshape rig is a time-consuming process in the current facial animation pipeline. We propose automatic blendshape facial rigging based on our blendshape transfer method. Our method computes the difference between source and target facial model and then transfers the source blendshape to the target face based on a deformation transfer algorithm. Our automatic method provides efficient production of a controllable digital human face; the results can be applied to various applications such as games, VR chating, and AI agent services.

  • Main purpose of producing animation is to entertain children, however, it is create for adult as an art form. For commercial animation focus on young generation rather than art animation, to make consume all over the world. To extend usability, animation company divert from child only contents to family animation, Especially, not even Disney animation company but many animation productions changed their policy and more stressed on that recently. It, however, can not be detected any research on this subject, So this study can proved a basic theory of defining term of family animation and contents with to overcome the limitation of viewers range as consumers. Firstly, it is investigated the family animation in domestic and overseas, secondly will be clarified the target for animation and compare to market for other country, it also be a basic analysis of understanding a family animation in the ways of producing and merchandising as goods.

  • Texture transfer is a NPR technique for expressing various styles according to source (reference) image. By late 2000s, there are many texture transfer researches. But video base researchers are not active. Moreover, they didn't use important feature like directional information which need to express detail characteristics of target. So, we propose a new method to generate texture transfer animation (using video) with directional effect for maintaining temporal coherence and controlling coherence direction of texture. For maintaining temporal coherence, we use optical flow and confidence map to adapt for occlusion/disocclusion boundaries. And we control direction of texture for taking structure of input. For expressing various texture effects according to different regions, we calculate gradient based on directional weight. With these techniques, our algorithm can make animation result that maintain temporal coherence and express directional texture effect. It is reflect the characteristics of source and target image well. And our result can express various texture directions automatically.
