  • The education for the disables has been eliminated till now, thus, it is very important that we take them as our real citizens and help them to improve their social standings and extend their chances for occupations. It's true that admissions into a university for the disabled have been promoted, but it's also true that their droppings out of college because of physical environments have been frequently found. Without data on the universal education surroundings and full understanding on the handicapped, making up the week points in the current surroundings is not useful for them in essence. This study is on the evaluating the korea national college of rehabilitation & welfare, set up for the disabled, by the universal design standards and analyzing their satisfaction with the education surroundings, in addition to that, improving on methods of universal education surroundings.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of media on makeup and hairdressing behavior. The data collected for this study were gathered through questionnaire survey with 443 female students in Seoul. The first study focus is on makeup behavior. The ANOVA test reveals that those exposed to magazine show higher level of concern with makeup compared to those exposed to other types of media. Using logistic regression method, we find that those exposed to magazine or those with positive body image are more likely to take makeup course. The next focus is on hairdressing behavior. The ANOVA test reveals that those exposed to magazine show more frequent use of hair salon. They also spend more money on hairdressing. The regression analysis also shows that those exposed to magazine or those with sexual attraction visit hair salon more frequently than others.

  • This study focuses on the development of the conceptual criteria which could be applied to the speed-up strategy of urban rail operation. Down town segment or not, and peak hour or not are the criteria. The author suggests that in the case of down town segment and peak hour urban rail should take the all-stop pattern, if down town segment and off peak hour, then skip-stop pattern, if not-down town segment and peak hour, the A, B skip-stop, and if not-down town segment and off peak hour, the A, B, C skip-stop. If side lines, three rail, or 2 double lines, then express train operation is recommended in the peak hour. Then this study recommends speed-up strategies of each 8 urban lines.

  • The inspection of track irregularity, which is the most important index for the evaluation of the dynamic safety of the rolling stock, is performed by setting up the testing train set. The self-diagnosis for the various rolling stocks and railways can be obtained if it is possible to take the simultaneous inspection of track irregularity for the commercial vehicle while it is running and to build up a dynamic safety evaluation system. It is expected to have some good effects, such as preventing accident with the low dynamic safety, cutting cost for the testing train set and evaluating the exact influence on the rolling stock and railway. In this study, innertial measuring method, which allows us to directly measure the track irregularity from the commercial vehicle, will be considered and some overseas cases will be explored as well.

  • This paper introduce a millimeter-wave radar system. As Fig 1 shows, This system consists of millimeter-wave radar front-end and digital signal processing parts through receive waves regarding up-coming obstacles. The system works as follow process; (1) Generate regular tripodal waves using the FMCW pulse generator (2) Transmit/Receive waves regarding up-coming obstacles (3) Analog filtering (4) FIFO memory interface (5) FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) (6) Calculation of distance / speed between cars (7) Object display and calibration. We have progress to solve the problem like as increase of traffic accidents causing damage and injuries due to the increased number of motor vehicles and long distance driving, and Need for a device to help drivers who are in trouble due to bad weather conditions. We are expect to Take the lead as a core technology in the ITS industry and to develop circuit and signal processing technologies related to millimeter-wave bandwidth.

  • The aquatic fern Azolla spp. is of value as a bio-fertilizer for wetland paddy, and also can be used as an ideal feed for cattle, pigs and poultry. It is popular and cultivated widely in other countries like China, Vietnam, and the Philippines, but has yet to be taken up in Korea, in a big way. It fixes nitrogen as high as 3-5kg N per day, because it contains nitrogen fixing blue-green algae, Anabaena azollae. Azolla's ability to create a light-proof mat that suppresses other weeds has been used for centuries in rice production. Azolla spp. has also the capacity to take up the heavy metals ($75{\sim}100%$) and may be used as a bioaccumulator. Moreover, Azolla meal as an unconventional feed resource has a potential as a feedstuff for livestock.

  • Automatic license plate recognition (LPR) is one of the critical techniques of the intelligent transportation system (ITS), in which license plate location plays an important role. In this paper, through surveying the international existing techniques, a new method for locating license plate is proposed: utilize row scan method to locate up and down boundary of the plate; and based on the location of up and down boundary, take advantage of the feature of plate area to locate left and right boundary of the plate. The tests of using the proposed algorithms have been conducted. The experimental results show that the proposed approaches are reasonable and accurate.

  • The spin-off where the principal technology developers take the lead in the active and initiative pursuit of the commercialization of technologies is increasingly drawing attention, breaking away from the traditional means through the technology transfer or licensing of the public technologies created by the developers. This study aimed to determine the reasons for such differences from the perspective of the institutional theory. The results show that only the start-up support system, profit distribution system for researchers, degree of participation in the technology marketing, entrepreneurship of researchers, the use of start-up systems affected the number of start-ups of spin-off companies. Furthermore, an analysis of success factors and a study on the exploration of success paths for the RSOs will also be required

  • Background: Several cases of chloroform-induced hepatotoxicity have been reported worldwide, but only 2 cases have been reported in Korea. We encountered a case of toxic hepatitis due to chloroform exposure in February 2022 and report the diagnosis process and clinical findings. Case presentation: A 38-year-old employee in charge of the coating after washing (degreasing) at an automotive parts manufacturer complained of jaundice and was diagnosed with acute toxic hepatitis. After the initial diagnosis, he continued to work, his symptoms worsened, and he was hospitalized for 8 days. Liver ultrasonography (elastography) revealed acute hepatitis. The washing agent contained chloroform, which was not listed on the materials safety data sheet, and the concentrations of chloroform in the workplace were up to 4.7 times the time-weighted average. Conclusions: This patient showed typical toxic hepatitis with chloroform; further follow-up studies are required. Both employers and workers should be aware of information on toxic substances and take precautions to avoid exposure.
