The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of three different retention forms on the bond strength when complete denture repaired. Total 75 samples were divided into 3 groups(Dove-tail form, bevel form, rabbit form). The completed resin samples were compressed in Instron Testing Machine until gross fracture occurred to examine the effect on the bond strength of resin base. The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. The difference of bond strength according to three retention forms were not statistically significant(P>0.05). 2. Dove-tail form was strongest to bond strength among the three retention forms.
Eight healthy Holstein bulls, 4-6 years old were used to study the effect of season of the year on the incidence of the morphologically abnormal spermatozoa. Semen was collected twice a week by A. V. over one-year period. The percentage of total abnormal spermatozoa was $14.1{\pm}0.5$. Ejaculates collected during hot summer season had significantly higher incidence of abnormal spermatozoa than those collected during winter time. Warm spring had moderate semen abnormality. In addition to its effect on the total number of morphologically abnormal spermatozoa, season affected significantly the primary as well as the secondary types of abnormalities. The differences between incidence of primary and secondary types of abnormalities were not significant for all seasons and seasons pooled together. The ratio between the total forms of abnormality in the head, mid-piece and tail of spermatozoa was as 1:1.5:1. Head and mid-piece had defected more during summer compared with both winter and spring. There was no variation in tail abnormalities due to season. The significant effect of season on head was observed by large, pyriform, free and detached heads, while that on mid-piece was by swollen, coiled mid-pieces and protoplasmic droplets.

Prior research highlighted personalized services as a crucial antecedent to website loyalty, yet little has been discussed on the underlying mechanism. The current study explores the intervening effects of the three psychological constructs in the personalization-loyalty relationship: cognitive efficiency, perceived enjoyment, and socialness. An experiment was conducted with a total of 414 U.S. shoppers on a fictitious e-tail site for jeans that employed different levels of personalized content. The results found that the participants exposed to the high-level personalization condition reported a higher cognitive efficiency and higher socialness perception regarding the fashion e-tail site; however, no direct effect of intensity of e-personalization was found on perceived enjoyment. Cognitive efficiency and enjoyment perceptions on the site significantly increased customers' loyalty intentions regarding the site, while website socialness perception had no direct effect on loyalty intentions. Website socialness showed indirect effects on website loyalty intentions only through cognitive efficiency and perceived enjoyment; however, no direct effect from website socialness was found. Implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
The present study was attempted to investigate the antioxidant capacity of popular yellow-green vegetable juices (kale, Angelica keishei, carrot, small water dropwort) and to investigate the effect of vegetable juices on protecting oxidative damage to DNA in cultured Chinese hamster lung (CHL) cells. Antioxidant capacity was analyzed by TRAP assay (Total radical-trapping antioxidant potential). Cellular DNA dmamage was measured by SCGE (single-cell gel electrophoresis, also known as comet assay. Cells incubated in medium with PBS (negative control) or with various concentration of the freeze dried green juices (25, 50, 100, 250 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$) resuspended in PBS were treated with $H_2O_2$ (200 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) as an oxidative stimulus for 5 min at 4$^{\circ}C$. The physiological function of each vegetable juice on oxidative DNA damage was analyzed and expressed as tail moment (tail length X percentage migrated DNA in tail) . Kale juice had the highest TRAP value suggesting that kale has the highest antioxidant capacity followed by Angelica keishei, small water dropwort and carrot. Cells treated with $H_2O_2$ had extensive DNA damage compared with cells treated with PBS or pre-treated with vegetable juice extracts. All green juices inhibited $H_2O_2$-induced DNA damage with kale being the most effective juice among the tested juices. These results indicate that green juice supplementation to CHL cells followed by oxidative stimulus inhibited damage to cellular DNA, supporting a protective effect against oxidative damage induced by reactive oxygen species. High consumption of fruits and vegetables has been suggested to provide some protection to smokers who are exposed to an increased risk of numerous cancers and other degenerative diseases. Carrot is the most important source of dietary ${\beta}$-carotene. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate whether carrot juice supplementation to smokers can protect against lymphocyte DNA damage and to compare the effect of supplementationof capsules containing purified ${\beta}$-carotene or a placebo (simple lactose). The study was conducted in a randomized and placebo-controlled design. After a depletion period of 14 days, 48 smokers were supplemented with either carrot juice (n = 18), purified ${\beta}$-carotene (n = 16) or placebo (n = 14). Each group was supplemented for 8 weeks with approximately 20.49 mg of ${\beta}$-carotene/day and 1.2 mg of vitamin C/day, as carrot juice (300 ml/day) or purified ${\beta}$-carotene (20.49 mg of ${\beta}$-carotene, 1 capsule/day). Lymphocyte DNA damage was determined using the COMET assay under alkaline conditions and damage was quantified by measuring tail moment (TM), tail length (TL), and% DNA in the tail. Lymphocyte DNA damage was significantly decreased in the carrot juice group in all three measurements. The group that received purified ${\beta}$-carotene also showed a significant decrease in lymphocyte DNA damage in all three measurements. However, no significant changes in DNA damage was observed for the placebo group except TM (P = 0.016). Erythrocyte antioxidant enzyme was not significantly changed after supplementation. Similarly plasma lipid profiles were not different after carrot juice, ${\beta}$-carotene and placebo supplementation. These results suggest that while the placebo group failed to show any protective effect, carrot juice containing beta-carotene or purified ${\beta}$-carotene itself had great antioxidative potential in preventing damage to lymphocyte DNA in smokers.
Phospholipase D (PLD) catalyzed the generation of phosphatidic acid (PA) from phosphatidylcholine (PC) at the outer layer of the vesicles prepared through layer by layer via a double emulsion technique. The generation induced a curvature change in the vesicles, which eventually led them to fuse each other. The ratio of two-fatty-acid-tail ethanolamine (PE) to one-fatty-acid-tail ethanolamine (PE) was found to acquire the condition where the mixed-phospholipid vesicles were stable identically with pure two-fatty-acid-tail PC. The effect of the outer-layer mixture on the PLD-induced vesicle fusion was investigated using the fluorescence intensity change. 8-Aminonaph-thalene-1,3,6-trisulfonic acid disodium salt (ANTS) and p-Xylene-bis(N-pyridinium bromide) (DPX) were encapsulated in the vesicles, respectively, for the quantification of the fusion. The fluorescence scale was calibrated with the fluorescence of a 1/1 mixture of ANTS and DPX vesicles in NaCl buffer taken as 100% fluorescence (0% fusion) and the vesicles containing both ANTS and DPX as 0% fluorescence (100% fusion), considering the leakage into the medium studied directly in a separate experiment using vesicles containing both ANTS and DPX. The fusion data for each composition were acquired with the subtraction of the leakage from the quenching. From the monitoring, the vesicle fusion caused by the PLD reaction seems dominantly to occur rather than the vesicle lysis, because the composition effect on the fusion was observed identically with that on the change in the vesicle structure. Furthermore, the diameter measurements also support the fusion dominancy.

In this study, the force and moment acting on a Joubert BB2 submarine model at depths near the free surface were measured through a captive model test with the scale ratio of 1/15. Based on the experiment, the pitch moment and heave force due to the "Tail suction effect", including the change in surge force with depth near the free surface, were quantitatively analyzed. The change of force and moment according to the relative position of the sail and the free surface was reviewed with the free surface waves generated for each depths. As a result, the angle of attack of the hull to counteract the pitch moment induced by the tail suction effect was derived. The effect of the hydrostatic moment component according to the angle of attack on the equilibrium of pitch moment was also taken into account. The control plane performance tests for the X-type rudder and sail plane were conducted in snorkel and surface depth conditions to figure out the control plane angles for the neutral level flight of the submarine at near free surface. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference data for the neutral level flight of the submarine at near free surface operation in the free running model test as well as numerical studies.
This study describes the tail vibration reduction for the next generation high speed EMU(HEMU-430X). The model of 6 cars was generated and the calculation was performed using VAMPIRE(railway vehicle dynamic software). In view of ride characteristics, HEMU-430X was expected to sway at the tail because of the yaw damper direction. The lateral acceleration of vehicle body exceeded the criteria because of hunting. To reduce this hunting motion, some methods such as wheel profile change, the change of damping coefficient for the 2nd lateral damper, the damping coefficient change of yaw damper were tested, but had little effect. Finally, the yaw damper direction was changed and the tail vibration disappeared. In real running test, the tail vibration appeared at the speed of 150km/h and the yaw damper direction change made the vehicle stable at the speed of 300km/h. The maximum test speed of HEMU-430X is 430km/h. If the tail vibration appears at higher speed, some other methods in this study may be considered to reduce it.
Bioconcentration factors of some carbamates BPMC, carbaryl and carbofuran were determined. The tested fishes were zebrafish (Brachydanio rerio) and red sword tail (Xiphophorus hellieri). The fishes were exposed to 0.05 ppm, 0.01 ppm, 0.50 ppm, one- hundredth concentration of 96-hrs $LC_{50}$ and one-thousandth concentration of 96-hrs LCso and test periods were 3, 5 and 8 days. Obtained results are summerized as follows: In the case of BPMC and carbaryl, BPMC and carbaryl concentration in zebrafish extract and BCF s of BPMC, carbaryl were lower than those of red sword tail, and increased as increasing test concentration. In the case of same experimental concentrations, BPMC concentration in zebrafish extract and $BCF_s$ of BPMC were decreased as prolonging test periods. In the case of same experimental periods, carbaryl concentration in zebrafish extract and BCF s of carbaryl were decreased as increasing test concentration, especially dropped at 0.50 ppm. Carbofuran did not bioaccumulate in zebrafish for test periods, in the case of red sword tail, it was impossible to calculate on $BCF_s$ data because test concentration of one-hundredth and one-thousandth of 96hrs $LC_{50}$ was under the detecting limit on GC. Test concentration of 0.05 and 0.10 ppm were the same tendency with BPMC and carbaryl. Determined depuration rate conatant were highest on carbofuran, and followed by carbaryl, and BPMC. It is suggested that low BCF of carbofuran is due to its relatively high water solubility and depuration rate, compared to BPMC and carbaryl. Therefore, carbofuran had no little bioconcentration effect on the aquatic ecosystem.

This paper presents electromagnetic interference(EMI) suppression method applied on the direct current(DC) motor driver for power tail gate control. EMI noise is generated by the fast switching of power devices connected to electric loads. It has become a matter of concern because of the vast increase in the number and sophistication of electronic system in automotive environment. The proposed EMI reduction method is based on the principle of reducing the transient speed of power devices by changing the parameters of the driver circuit related to the power MOSFET. In this paper, power losses were calculated by loss equations and thermal simulation was used to evaluate the effect on printed circuit board. Based on these results, the DC motor driver was fabricated and tested. The proposed method can help to design a DC motor driver which allows it to obtain an acceptable compromise between power losses and EMI.
