  • Purpose: This study aims to analyze the outcome of exercise programs for Rheumatoid Arthritis patients and its tendency with network analysis. Method: 30 articles from Medline search of foreign nursing journals(1966-2002) and 5 from three Korean nursing journals(1970-2002) were surveyed. The contents analyses were focused on outcome measures and network analysis of exercise programs. Results: Exercise programs result in improving muscle strength(91.7%), aerobic capacity(72.9%), and 50 feet walk time(57.3%). Among several exercises, water exercise, and Tai-chi are in the middle of weight-bearing exercises. In the experimental design, non-randomized control trials were 40%, and the functional status of subjects were not classified in 40% of the articles surveyed. Conclusion: Considering the results, muscle strength, aerobic capacity, and 50 feet walk time were tested as valid outcome measures. Tai-chi exercise could be recommended as proper exercise for Rheumatoid arthritis patients because of its low intensity of weight-bearing exercise. In terms of research methods, the randomized trials and functional classifications of rheumatoid arthritis should be done more strictly.

  • This study was a systematic review and meta-analysis designed to investigate the effects of physical activity programs on sleep among community-dwelling elders in Korea. Based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines, research articles published until November 20, 2016 were systematically analyzed and a total of seven papers were finally selected. Meta-analysis of the studies was conducted using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis 3.0. The results showed that the total effect of the physical activity program for elderly people, such as healing yoga, aerobic dance, aquarobics, Korean dance, BeHas exercise, exercise programs and Tai Chi exercise on sleep was Hedges' g=0.577 (95% CI: 0.337-0.817) The BeHas exercise program had the largest effect size on elderly's sleep, with a Hedges' g=0.758 (95% CI: 0.248-1.267). This was followed by the Tai Chi exercise program (Hedges' g=0.697; 95% CI: 0.071-1.324) and the exercise program (Hedges' g=0.650; 95% CI: 0.141-1.159). Therefore, when applying nursing interventions to improve quality of sleep of elderly people living in the community, it would be helpful to apply the BeHas exercise and the Tai Chi exercise, which have a positive effect on sleep of the elderly.

  • Color sequential display is a well know technology. Hower, due to the slow response time of LC,the CSD has not been used in LCD. We have developed a unique LC color display, which can improve LC response time, improve the driving system, improve the gamma drive issue and increase the color gamut to more than NTSC120%.It also can get very low power consumption merit.

  • Objectives : To research trends of studies on treatments of knee osteoarthritis in Korean medicine. Methods : Domestic theses, published from 2000 to 2010, mentioning the treatments of knee osteoarthritis in Korean medicine were reviewed and analyzed. This study researched 79 theses and classified again according to the fields of the treatment. Results : The results were obtained as below ; 1. Studies on pharmacoacupuncture account for 41% of the total (32cases/79cases). The target of treatments had changed from pain alleviation and anti-inflammation to cartilage-protection since 2006. 2. Herbal Drug, Bee Venom, Cervi Cornu Parvum pharmacoacupuncture, Taping Therapy and Tai-Chi Exercise program were more effective than others. Moreover research on exercise program such as Tai-Chi has been increasing. 3. Some Herbal Drug (Glycyrrhizae Radix, Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Achyrantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix, Eucommiae Cortex and so on) were mainly used to investigate the effect on cartilage protection, pain relief and anti-inflammation in laboratory test. 4. Acupuncture including individualized, local acupoints and constitution acupuncture were effective than others in pain alleviation and symptom relief. 5. Pharmacoacupuncture Bee Venom were effective in recovery of joint function and pain relief while Buthus martensii Karsch, Homnis Placenta and Cervi Cornu Parvum were effective in cartilage protection and recovery. 6. Moxibustion was efficient to reduce joint pain and partly increase ROM (range of motion) of knee joint, but was not efficient to recover the function of knee joint. Conclusions : These results indicate that research trends on knee osteoarthritis were changed from symptomatic treatment (pain alleviation and anti-inflammation) to conservative treatment (cartilage protection and recovery).

  • This paper studies human activity image classification using deep transfer learning techniques focused on the inception convolutional neural networks (InceptionV3) model. For this, we used UFC-101 public datasets containing a group of students' behaviors in mathematics classrooms at a school in Thailand. The video dataset contains Play Sitar, Tai Chi, Walking with Dog, and Student Study (our dataset) classes. The experiment was conducted in three phases. First, it extracts an image frame from the video, and a tag is labeled on the frame. Second, it loads the dataset into the inception V3 with transfer learning for image classification of four classes. Lastly, we evaluate the model's accuracy using precision, recall, F1-Score, and confusion matrix. The outcomes of the classifications for the public and our dataset are 1) Play Sitar (precision = 1.0, recall = 1.0, F1 = 1.0), 2), Tai Chi (precision = 1.0, recall = 1.0, F1 = 1.0), 3) Walking with Dog (precision = 1.0, recall = 1.0, F1 = 1.0), and 4) Student Study (precision = 1.0, recall = 1.0, F1 = 1.0), respectively. The results show that the overall accuracy of the classification rate is 100% which states the model is more powerful for learning UCF-101 and our dataset with higher accuracy.
