다특성치 파라미터 설계에 관한 방법론 연구(사례 연구 중심으로) (A Study on the Methodology of The Parameter Design of Multiple Characteristics)

  • Taguchi's robust design methodology has focus only a single characteristic or response, but the quality of most products is seldom defined by a characteristics, and is rather the composite of a family of characteristics which are often interrelated and nearly always measured in a variety of units. The multiple characteristics problem is how to compromise the conflicts among the selected levels of the design parameters for each individual characteristic. In this paper, Methodology using SN ratio optimized by univariate technique is proposed and a parameter design procedure to achive the optimal compromise among several different response variables is developed. One new case studies are solved by the proposed method and the results are compared with ones by the sum of SN ratios, the expected weighted loss, the desirability function, and EXTOPSIS model.

  • Sulfur Hexafluoride, SF6 is widely used for leak detection and as a gaseous dielectric in transformers, condensers and circuit breakers. SF6 gas is also effective as a cleanser in the semiconductor industry. This paper presents a numerical study of the sealing force of disk type seal in SF6 gas safety valve. The sealing force on the disk seal is analyzed by the FEM method based on the Taguch's experimental design technique. Disk seals in SF6 gas safety valve are designed with 9 design models based on 3 different contact length, compressive ratio and gas pressure. The calculated results of Cauchy stress and strain showed that the sealing characteristics of Teflon PTFE is more effective compared to that of FKM(Viton), which is related to the stiffness of the materials. And also, the contact length of the disk seal is important design parameter for sealing the SF6 gas leakage in the safety valve.

  • 솔더와 PCB Cu 패드와 솔더 경계면에서 발생하는 수직응력과 수평응력을 분석하여 PGA 패키지의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 리드핀의 형상설계에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 이와 같은 연구를 위해 리드핀의 $20^{\circ}$ 각도 굽힘 변형과 50 ${\mu}m$ 인장조건에서 4인자 3수준의 다구찌 최적설계와 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과에 의하면 리드핀의 헤드곡면과 PCB Cu 패드가 접촉하는 폭(d2)이 솔더에서 발생하는 응력감소에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자로 계산되었다. 또한, 다 구찌법의 파라메타 설계에 의해 기존 리드핀 형상모델에 비해 약 18.7%의 등가 von Mises 응력이 감소하는 형상을 도출하였다. 한편, 최대 수직응력이 발생하는 위치가 PCB의 Cu 패드와 솔더의 외곽이 접촉하는 위치이고 최대 수평응력이 발생하는 위치가 SR 층과 솔더의 외곽표면이 접촉하는 위치임을 파악하여, PGA 패키지의 박리 불량은 솔더의 외곽부터 발생하여 내부로 진행될 것으로 예측되었다.

  • This study is to systematically analyze the effect of various kinds of design parameters on heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of heat exchanger with a slit fin. TAGUCHI method, known to us as a very reasonable tool in the parametric study, is employed in the present work. Experimental factors have been limited to seven cases, considering the production of sample and the cost. The 18 kinds of large scale models are made by compounding level on each factor and the heat transfer and flow characteristics on each model has been analyzed. The present results allow us to be able to quantitatively estimate the various parameters affecting the heat exchanger performance, and main factors for an optimum design of a heat exchanger have been selected. The optimum design value on each parameter was presented and the reproducibility on the results was guaranteed.

  • Taguchi's parameter design is to determine optimal settings of design parameters of a product or a process such that the characteristics of a product exhibit small variabilities around their target values. His analysis of the problem has focused only on a single characteristic or response, but the quality of most products is seldom defined by a characteristic, and is rather the composite of a great number of characteristics which are often interrelated and nearly always measured in a variety of units. The critical problem in dealing with multiple characteristics is how to compromise the conflicts among the selected levels of the design parameters for each individual characteristic. In this paper, the EXTOPSIS Model using SN ratio which can be optimized by univariate technique is proposed and a parameter design procedure to achieve the optimal compromise among several different response variables is developed. Two existing case studies are solved by the proposed method and the results are compared with ones by the sum of SN ratios, the expected weighted loss, and the desirability function.

다구찌 실험 계획법을 이용한 고속가공에서 공구수명 조건의 최적화 (Optimal Cutting Condition of Tool Life in the High Speed Machining by Taguchi Design of Experiments)

  • High Speed Machining(HSM) reduces machining time and improves surface accuracy because of the high cutting speed and feedrate. Development of HSM makes it allowable to machine difficult-to-cut material and use small-size-endmill. It is however limited to cutting condition and tool material. In the machining operation, it is important to check main parameter of tool life and select optimal cutting condition because tool breakage can interrupt progression of operation. In this study, cutting parameters are determined to 3 factors and 3 levels which are a spindle speed, a feedrate and a width of cut. Experiment is designed to orthogonal array table for L9 with 3 outer array using Taguchi method. Also, it is proposed to inspect significance of the optimal factors and levels by ANOVA using average of SN ratio for tool life. Finally, estimated value of SN ratio in the optimal cutting condition is compared with measured one in the floor shop and reduction of loss is predicted.

  • The economic order quantity(EOQ) is a robust quantity, and it is largely insensitive to reasonable errors in the estimation of most of its parameters. Optimal EOQ and reorder point which are not sensitive to the estimates of the various cost model parameters for Kim and Park's model are determined. This of Taguchi's parameter design which finds a robust EOQ and reorder point using reasonable cost structure on the assumption of normally distributed quality characteristic. A numerical example is also presented to illustrate the proposed procedure and computer aided numerical experiments for selected values of backordered fractions and standard deviations are performed.
