  • This paper provides a user interface for mutual collaboration table top display technology. The biggest difference is that the existing interface with existing research through a single device to multiple users simultaneously enabled oriented way of face to face. On the other hand, in collaboration important deadline table top display device to device-oriented approach in which the order of one of the devices require users. Collaborative research is actively underway, but to do so focused still many challenges in this situation. This paper provides for collaboration on global trends on a table top display interface for more mutual collaboration with the user interface for about checking out on a table top display, currently being developed by a collaboration among users against a table top display technology.

  • Applications which are implemented on Table Top Display are controlled by hands, so that they support an intuitive interface to users. Users feel the real sense when they interact on the virtual scene in Table Top Display. However, most of conventional augmented reality applications on Table Top Display satisfy only visual sense. In this paper, we propose an interface that supports multi-modal sense in that tactile sense is utilized for augment reality by vibrating a physical control unit when it collides to virtual objects. Users can feel the collision in addition to visual scene. The proposed system facilitates tactile augmented reality through an air hockey game. A physical control unit vibrates when it receives virtual collision data over wireless communication. Since the use of tabletop display environment is extended with a tactile sense based physical unit other than hand, it provides a more intuitive interface.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel tangible interface system whose system does not use the expensive hardware is introduced. This proposed tangible interface is used on the table top capacitive multi touch-screen. The tangible interface apparatus which is called smart puck has sanguine arduino compatible board. The board has a Cds photo-sensing sensor and the EPP8266 WiFi module. The Cds sensor decodes the photometric PWM signals from the system and sends corresponding information to the system via TCP/IP. The system has a server called MT-Server to communicate with the smart pucks. The tangible interface shows reliable operation with fast response that is compatible to the expensive traditional devices in the market.

  • Recently, the development of IT technology, utilization of smart devices 3-5-year-old infants Upon smart device penetration rate per household increases has also sharply increased. In this paper, the educational contents for kid are considered and implemented by reflecting this trend. Content that has been produced in this paper are based on learning theory of constructivism, was to be performed naturally learn the content of the table-top display of applying the NUI technology. Also, the content creation that can help you learn infants through experiments crafted tabletop display interface content, it is believed to be the basis for the improvement of usability.

  • In this paper, we propose an object control system on table top display to support augmented reality in which objects in real-world control computer-generated data. We developed LED-based object control system over table top display so that it is capable of controlling networked table top display. The LED-based object control system supports more natural interactive interface. In this paper, infrared LED is used to implement the object control device to be recognised by table top display. We applied LED-based object control system in air hockey game where a team has a point if their puck goes to opponent's net on a table. Since users can control objects in cyber world with the proposed object control device, it is realized augmented reality.

  • Computer games for elderly people can be utilized as a tool not only for enjoying themselves but also for improving their health and quality of lives. It is reported that such games could be played in order to stimulate and enhance mental and physical capabilities of elderly people. It is also reported that traditional folk games are preferred to be played by elderly people rather than modern computer games. In this paper, we propose to use a tabletop interface, u-Table, and its corresponding natural gestures as a user interface for playing traditional folk games by elderly people. Since a table is a good place for people to get together, talk to each other and share their experiences, a tabletop interface can be used for playing games of cooperation, conversation and sharing. A set of traditional folk games were digitalized using u-Table. It was demonstrated that its users had better experiences of playing games with u-Table comparing to playing games using a mouse of a conventional computer.

  • In this paper, we propose the Table-top system for using educational contents. Table-top system that is matched visual information and interaction space offers easy and intuitive interface. Moreover, because the effectiveness of education is enlarged if the content for education intuitive recognizes and an interaction, the table top system is suitable. In this paper, the multi touch, that is the advantage of the table top system, was implemented in the content for education manufactured as a flash. This system can solve the member of the instinctive interaction between a user and the contents which was short in the system like the existing desktop.

  • Smart Dining Table is an ongoing project in our Interaction Design Lab. It is a table top display designed to facilitate dining process. Smart Dining Table uses touchable interface to interact with users, providing a new, interesting and efficient experience in dining process. In GuangZhou, the south city of China, Yam Cha is a traditional and local way of entertainment in which normally elders gather together with friends or relatives to have tea and snack, and most importantly, to chat. Yam Cha has a long history in China, and Guangzhou has developed its own unique "Yam Cha" culture. In this paper, we discuss about previous research we did on Yam Cha in GuangZhou, and the approach we propose to manage and analyze issues related to dining table to help designing specific version of Smart Dining Table which can fit right into the Yam Cha process and cultural environment.

  • In this paper, an experimental hybrid method, which implements the earthquake response control of a building structure with a TLD(Tuned Liquid Damper) by using only a TLD as an experimental part, is proposed and is experimentally verified through a shaking table test. In the proposed methodology, the whole building structure with a TLD is divided into the upper TLD and the lower structural parts as experimental and numerical substructures, respectively. At the moment, the control force acting between their interface is measured from the experimental TLD with shear-type load-cell which is mounted on shaking table. Shaking table vibrates the upper experimental TLD with the response calculated from the numerical substructure, which is subjected to the excitations of the measured interface control force at its top story and an earthquake input at its base. The experimental results show that the conventional method, in which both a TLD and a building structure model are physically manufactured and are tested, can be replaced by the proposed methodology with a simple experimental installation and a good accuracy for evaluating the control performance of a TLD.

  • In this paper, a VHDL implementation method for the internet protocol (IP) placed on top of ATM, so called IP over ATM, is presented. The proposed implementation method employs a parallel processing architecture to reduce the processing time and offers 155.52Mbps (STM-1) interface with the full-duplex mode for the ATM-based network. Furthermore, in order to minimize the search time for the table look-up, a LANCAM-based structure combining the routing table with the ATMARP table is proposed. The VHDL simulation results show that this proposed method can transmit (receive) at 155.52Mbps with delays of 48.5 clocks (29.5clocks).
