  • 본 논문에서는 TV 프로그램 <한끼줍쇼>를 통해 보여주고자 한 한국인의 정서, 문화, 음식을 이야기하고자 한다. 한국 사회는 그동안 급격한 산업화의 영향으로 도시화가 빠르게 진행되어 왔다. 그로 인해 현대인의 모습은 컴퓨터와 모바일 폰을 친구 삼아 지내거나 식사시간을 넘겨서 혼자 식사를 해결하는 등 단출하고 분주한 생활을 보내고 있다. 이제는 예전처럼 단란하게 가족끼리 저녁을 먹으며 즐겁게 얘기 나누는 것이 이제는 흔치 않은 풍경이 되어 버렸다. 앞으로 4차 산업으로 나아가는 시점에서 한국 사회는 개인주의, 소외된 삶이 가속화될 것이다. 이 시점에서 우리 가족과 이웃을 돌아보며 무엇이 더 소중한지를 자 한다.

Development of Personal EPG for Purpose-oriented Broadcasting

  • The recent broadcasting environment has shifted to embrace multimedia and multi-channel features through terrestrial, satellite and cable media. This has multiplied the number of broadcasting programs. With the information on a myriad of programs provided to TV viewers, information overload occurs, and thus, the TV viewing environment is shifting to one where viewers cannot select programs passively. Thus, a growing need is emerging to ensure a personalized electronic program guide (EPG) to help individuals select TV programs according to their taste. This paper presents a personalized EPG that enables a purpose-oriented broadcasting service to provide personalized broadcasting programs in tune with the user's requirements and preferences.

  • In this paper, we implement the multimedia remote control system by using existing internet service or wired online. We also provide user-friendly convenient environment with developed application program named EzPlay and PC-EPG. The multimedia remote control system consists of integrated wireless transceiver of PC and TV connected USB type and the users can easily use lots of contents because EzPlay program provides appropriate UI mode on the PC and TV screen. The unposed system can operate real-time playing, reserved video receding and data storing function using internet mesh based on signal detecting control theory. The PC-EPG system is implemented by server/client web program and the client program based on visual C++/MFC processes data storing in client computer through TCP/IP. It also provides intelligent function that constructs database according to user's preference.

A Pilot Study on Factors Associated with Presentation Delay in Patients Affected with Head and Neck Cancers

  • Background: Patient delay can contribute to a poor outcome in the management of head and neck cancers (HNC). The main objective of the present study was to investigate the factors associated with patient delay in our population. Materials and Methods: Patients with cancers of the head and neck attending a regional cancer center of North East India were consecutively interviewed during the period from June 2014 to November 2014. The participation of patients was voluntary. The questionnaire included information on age, gender, residential status, educational qualification, monthly family income, any family history of cancer, and history of prior awareness on cancer from television (TV) program and awareness program. Results: Of 311 (n) patients, with an age range of 14-88 years (mean 55.4 years), 81.7% were males and 18.3% females (M:F=4.4). The overall median delay was 90 days (range=7 days-365 days), in illiterate patients the median delay was 90 days and 60 days in literate patients (P=0.002), the median delay in patients who had watched cancer awareness program on TV was 60 days and in patients who were unaware about cancer information from TV program had a median delay of 90 days (p=0.00021) and delay of <10 weeks was seen in 139 (44.6%) patients, a delay of 10-20 weeks in 98 (31.5%) patients, and a delay of 20-30 weeks in 63 (20.2%) patients. Conclusions: Education and awareness had a significant impact in reduction of median patient delay in our HNC cases.

  • 시청자들의 성격유형에 따른 TV 방송프로그램의 장르선호의 차이는 다양하다. 시청자들이 갖는 기질적 자기의 성향이 결국 방송프로그램의 장르선택과 시청률의 증가로 이어질 수 있어 방송프로그램 편성에 있어서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 따라서 다양한 인구사회학적 요인들에서도 개인의 성향이 TV시청의 선호에 중요한 선택적 요인과 관련이 있어 캐릭터의 행위 선택 동기와 성향의 관계의 유의미한 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 관련성을 토대로 방송프로그램의 기획과 편성에 관한 전략적 활용 지표를 마련하는데 목적이 있다.

  • In March of 2014, after Eduwill's new TV commercial, Seo Kyung Seok, appeared as a model, unusually, various professional comedians have spontaneously made many TV ad parody contents. It is a kind of GCC (Gagman Created Contents), which is a content created by comedians if it is called User Created Contents (UCC) by a consumer voluntarily making contents. Various popular programs of TV stations such as tvN, KBS, SBS, MBC Eduwill TV commercial parody contents was broadcasted. Euduwill TV advertising parody contents can be classified as parody contents that mimic Eduwill CM songs and comic dancings by Seo Kyung Seok. In this study, we analyzed how the characteristics of class B culture such as 'twist' and 'satire' are reflected in Eduwill TV commercial parody, and discussed the correlation between advertisement, parody contents and socio-cultural phenomenon.

A Study on the Formative Process of Genre and Storytelling in Observation Entertainment Programs - Focusing on the Role of Observer (관찰 예능의 장르화 과정과 스토리텔링 연구 -관찰자의 역할을 중심으로)

  • Recently, the interest among Korean broadcasters in the 'observation entertainment' genre has intensified. This study aims to analyze the genre and storytelling of observation entertainment programming from a narratological perspective. The origin of the Korean observation entertainment program began with the 'reality-variety show'. There was a 'real-life' debate in these reality-variety shows, and as an alternative, the observation entertainment program appeared. Documentary filming, omnibus composition, and spatialization of 'everyday' life have led to the recognition of observation entertainment as a single genre. In particular, 'observers' have become a key factor in the observation entertainment program. The subject of the program is determined by who the observer is. The variability of the program format is the same. The observer looks at the observation target on behalf of the viewer. At the same time, he or she serves as a narrator of the program. The observer functions as the most influential factor in the storytelling of the observation entertainment program. In the observation entertainment program, 'observation' is only a form. It is the observer who creates a narrative within this same format to make the difference between each program. Also, voyeurism has been considered a problem in reality shows such as observation entertainment programs. However, the form communicated by observers is not a direct peek, so much of the problem of voyeurism is mitigated. Such observation entertainment programs analyzed through observers are meaningful in that they make people understand the cultural meaning of "reality" in TV and the storytelling of contemporary Korean TV entertainment.

  • In this paper, "a wireless camera image transmission system" is aimed for the free camera shooting in the indoor and outdoor environments. Currently in broadcasting program production environments, because the cable connections between TV OB VAN(outside broadcasting VAN) and EFP camera or ENG camera have many obstacles and limits of distances, it is very unconvienent for the free camera shooting. Therefore in this paper, wireless image transmission device and receiving device in DVB-T broadcasting are developed. In this paper, analog composite image signal output camera, image signal compression MPEG-2 system and COFDM mage transmission system are produced and experimented. The results for the image and transmission system had good QoS values and from this results, it is possible to apply TV program productions and wireless CCTV device industries.
