Peptides, although high efficacy and specificity in their physiological function, usually have low therapeutical activities due to their poor bioavailability when administrated orally. Nanoparticles have been regarded as a useful vector for targeted drug delivery system because they can protect drug from being degraded quickly and pass the gastrointestinal barriers. Here we described a novel oral N-trimethyl chitosan nanoparticles formulation containing thymopentin (Tp5-TMC-NP). N-trimethyl chitosan (TMC) was synthesized and then used to prepare Tp5-TMC-NP by ionotropic gelation. A three-factor, five-level CCD (Central Composite Design) design was used in the optimization procedure, with HPLC as the analyzing method. The resulting Tp5-TMC-NP had a regular spherical surface and a narrow particle size range with a mean diameter of 110.6 nm. The average entrapment efficiency was 78.8%. The lyophilized Tp5-TMC-NP formulation was stable in $4^{\circ}C\;or\;-20^{\circ}C$ after storage of 3 months without obvious changes in morphology, particle size, pH and entrapment ratio. The results of the flow cytometer determination showed that the ratio of $CD4^+/CD8^+$ of Wistar female rat given Tp5-TMC-NP (ig) was 2.59 time that of the group given Tp5 (ig).
The transportation problem (TP) is known as one of the important problems in Industrial Engineering and Operational Research (IE/OR) and computer science. When the problem is associated with additional fixed cost for establishing the facilities or fulfilling the demand of customers, then it is called fixed charge transportation problem (fcTP). This problem is one of NP-hard problems which is difficult to solve it by traditional methods. This paper aims to show the application of spanning-tree based Genetic Algorithm (GA)approach for solving nonlinear fixed charge transportation problem. Our new idea lies on the GA representation that includes the feasibility criteria and repairing procedure for the chromosome. Several numerical experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Recently, many companies are interested in adopting cloud computing as their IT strategy. However, no distinct results have appeared in the substantial implementation of this technology. The main reason for such result is from the absence of research models leading to high impact studies on cloud computing. Thus, this study attempts to find a possible answer for the following research question : what factors influence an organizational assimilation of cloud computing? This study investigates Technology-Push (TP)/Need-Pull (NP) theory as a main factor affecting cloud computing assimilation. Also, the study examines the moderating role of organizational readiness. TP includes of perceived benefits, vendor pressure, cost savings, and IT activity intensity while NP includes competitor orientation, information technology policy, technological turbulence, and performance gaps. In addition, organizational readiness suggests two variables, financial resources and technological knowledge. Result from 217 adopting organizations showed that all of these factors with exception of competitor orientation and vendor pressure, have statistically significant impact on assimilation of cloud computing. The implications of the findings propose a theoretical framework for the foundation of studies on cloud computing assimilation, which can server as important practical guidelines for technology development.
Correlative changes between photosynthetic O2 exchange rates and room temperature Chl fluorescence were investigated in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) chloroplasts treated with high temperature for 5 min. With increasing treatment temperature, photosynthetic O2 evolution rate mediated by PSII was decreased, showing 50% inhibition at 38$^{\circ}C$ (I50). But PSI activity measured by O2 uptake rates was stimulated as a function of increasing temperature. Dark level fluorescence (Fo)-temperature (T) analysis showed that fluorescence rising temperature (Tr), critical temperature (Tc), and peak temperature (Tp) was 38, 43, and 52$^{\circ}C$, respectively. Quenching analysis of Chl fluorescence showed that both the oxidized fraction of plastoquinone (qQ) and degree of thylakoid membrane energization (qNP) increased up to 4$0^{\circ}C$ and then declined dramatically. These results suggest that Tr is correlated with temperature showing a 50% of inhibition of photosynthesis and under mild high temperature stress, qNP is worth regarding as indicator for heat-induced damage of photosynthesis.

This study was performed to investigate the effect of packaging materials on quality characteristics of washed potatoes such as Hunter's a value, chlorophyll and potato glycoalkaloids (PGA) content during their storage for 15 days. Packaging methods were evaluated into five ways: no packaging (NP, positive control), paper bag (PB, negative control), onion net (ON), transparent oriented to polypropylene without hole (TP), opaque oriented polypropylene with 4 holes (OP). Hunter's a values of washed potatoes showed minus in NP and TP after 12 days storage, whereas all plus values were observed in those of PB, ON, and OP. Total chlorophyll content of washed potatoes was the highest in no packaging at 15 days after storage. The PGA content of washed potatoes showed low levels in flesh part (below $5mg/100g{\cdot}FW$) as well as in peel part ($4.5-9.3mg/100mg{\cdot}FW$) in all packagings up to 15 days after storage.

The transportation problem (TP) is one of the traditional optimization problems. Unlike the TP, the fixed charge transportation problem (FCTP) cannot be solved using polynomial time algorithms. So, finding solutions for the FCTP is a well-known NP-complete problem involving an importance in a transportation network design. So, it seems to be natural to use evolutionary algorithms for solving FCTP. And many evolutionary algorithms have tackled this problem and shown good performance. This paper introduces an efficient evolutionary algorithm for the FCTP. The proposed algorithm can always generate feasible solutions without any repair process using the random key representation. Especially, it can guide the search toward the basic solution. Finally, we performed comparisons with the previous results known on the benchmark instances and could confirm the superiority of the proposed algorithm.

In a distribution of the digital image, there is a serious problem that is distributed an illegal forgery image by pirates. For the problem solution, this paper proposes an image forensic decision algorithm using an edge energy information of forgery image. The algorithm uses SA (Streaking Artifacts) and SPAM (Subtractive Pixel Adjacency Matrix) to extract the edge energy informations of original image according to JPEG compression rate(QF=90, 70, 50 and 30) and the query image. And then it decides the forge whether or not by comparing the edge informations between the original and query image each other. According to each threshold in TCJCR (Threshold by Combination of JPEG Compression Ratios), the matching of the edge informations of original and query image is excused. Through the matching experiments, TP (True Positive) and FN (False Negative) is 87.2% and 13.8% respectively. Thus, the minimum average decision error is 0.1349. Also, it is confirmed that the performed class evaluation of the proposed algorithm is 'Excellent(A)' because of the AUROC (Area Under Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve is 0.9388 by sensitivity and 1-specificity.

In digital forensic images, there is a serious problem that is distributed with various image types. For the problem solution, this paper proposes a classification algorithm of the forensic image types. The proposed algorithm extracts the 21-dim. feature vector with the contrast and energy from GLCM (Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix), and the entropy of each image type. The classification test of the forensic images is performed with an exhaustive combination of the image types. Through the experiments, TP (True Positive) and FN (False Negative) is detected respectively. While it is confirmed that performed class evaluation of the proposed algorithm is rated as 'Excellent(A)' because of the AUROC (Area Under Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve) is 0.9980 by the sensitivity and the 1-specificity. Also, the minimum average decision error is 0.1349. Also, at the minimum average decision error is 0.0179, the whole forensic image types which are involved then, our classification effectiveness is high.
Background: Maintenance chemotherapy is one strategy pursued in recent years with intent to break through the chemotherapy plateau for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, given the toxicity, platinum-based combinations are rarely given for this purpose. We carried out the present prospective study of triplet platinum-based combination sequential chemotherapy in advanced NSCLC to investigate if patients could tolerate and benefit from such intensive treatment. Methods: From Dec 2003 to Dec 2007, 190 stage IIIB and IV NSCLC patients in Sun yat-sen University sequentially received the 3 platinum-based combination (TP-NP-GP) treatment (T: paclitaxol175$mg/m^2$ d1; N: vinorelbine25$mg/m^2$ d1 and 8; G: gemcitabine1$g/m^2$ d1 and 8; P: cisplatin20$mg/m^2$ d1-5; repeated every 3 weeks). Patients were followed up to at least 3 years to obtain survival data. Treatment toxicities and the quality of life (QOL) were assessed during the whole treatment. Results: There were 187 patients evaluable. The TP, NP and GP response rates with sequential use were 42.8% (80/187), 41.1% (65/158) and 28.8% (21/73) respectively. Median survival time was 18.2 months and the 1, 2 and 3 year overall survival (OS) rates were 78.7%, 38.5% and 21.3%. Patients receiving > 6 cycles of chemotherapy had significantly longer OS and TTP (MST 25.3 vs. 14.5 months, TTP 15.1 vs. 9.1 months). The QOL on the whole for the patients was improved after chemotherapy. Conclusions: The sequential chemotherapy strategy with triplet platinum-based combination regimens can improve the survival outcome and the quality of life of advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients.
