  • This paper deals with the implementation of three-phase VSI systems which can control the power regenerated from DC bus line to AC supply. The overall system consists of the line-to-line voltage and line current sensors, an actual power calculator using d-q transformation method, a complex power controller with PI control scheme, a gating signal generator for modified q-conduction mode, a DPLL for frequency followup, and Power circuits. Control board is constructed by using a 32-bit DSP TMS32C32, two EFLDs , six ADCs, and a DAC. To verify the performance of the proposed system, we designed and constructed the propotype with the power rating of 5kVA at AC 220V. Experimental results show that the regenerated active power is well controlled to its command vague and the regenerated reactive power still remained at nearly zero through all operating modes.

  • This study has been done to design a precise system and develop position control algorithm to control a Composite Smoke Bomb Azimuth driving apparatus of a BLDC servo motor. Having to Blind the sight of opposite tank. the Smoke Bomb Rotational driving system needs instant response that is able to detect opponent appearance and blast the bomb at a short time. So a design that shows fast current response capability or $300[Hz]\sim500[Hz]$ is proposed. in the MIN-MAX PWM technology is used to increase the operational speed. in order to control the blasting position, a precision position control algorithm that utilizes the integral value of speed trajectory is suggested. Also these characteristics are monitored and assessed by the PC based monitoring program which shows the graphs of current, voltage, position, and speed parameters. The main controller is based on a TMS320VC33 high performance floating-point DSP(Digital Signal Process) and the PWM generator utilizes EPM7128 CPLD.

  • This paper deals with the design and implementation of a TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor) simulator, which is a module for an analog type power system simulator. Principally, it presents configuration of controller hardware/software and its experimental results. An analog type power system simulator consists of numerous power system components, such as various types of generator models, scale-downed transmission line modules, transformer models, switches and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System) devices. It has been utilized for the verification of the control algorithm and the study of system characteristics analysis. This TCSC simulator is designed for 50% line compensation rate and considered for damping resister characteristic analysis. Its power rate is three phase 380V 20kVA. For hardware extendibility, its controller is designed with VMEBUS and its main CPU is TMS320C32 DSP (Digital Signal Processor). For real time control and communications, its controller is applied to the RTOS (Real Time Operation System) for multi-tasking. This RTOS is uC/OS-II. The experimental results of capacitive mode and inductive mode operations verify the fundamental operations of the TCSC.

  • For the successful R&D and deployment of LED-based green energy lighting systems, the real-time power quality measurement of both various non-linear power signals including pulse waveform, spike waveform, etc and the undesired-signals including harmonics, sag, swell, etc is required. In this paper, we propose a low-cost power quality measurement (PQM) method for low- (60Hz-several KHz) to high-frequency (several tens KHz) power signals, which are generated by green-energy lighting systems, and implement a PQM testbed using TI TMS320F28335 MCU. The proposed algorithm is programmed using C in the CCS (Code Composer Studio) 3.3 environment and is verified using test signals generated by an arbitrary signal generator, NF-WF1974. In the implemented testbed, we can measure various non-linear current signals that LED SMPS generates, analyze harmonics by fast Fourier transform, and test sag, swell, and interruption using wavelet transform.
