Residential space can be stated as a decisive body compositely affected by environmental, physical, social, and cultural influences. Resulting from this idea, residential space can be defined as a mirror reflecting peoples' life at that period. Therefore, it is possible to understand the social and cultural aspects of a certain era through analyzing the residential space built and used at that period. Viewing from this point, latter term of Chosun Period, as a transitional period, was a tie of collapse for the structure of middle-class society forcing its identity system to be reorganized, and of improving upon commerce, agriculture, and manual industry to enable modernization. Following this idea, the goal of this research is to analyze characteristics of higher middle class residences built at the close of 19th century in Gyeonggi province in order to bring into light the change of social structure of the period.

About 440,000 $\textrm{km}^2$, about twice the size of the Korean Peninsula is covered by loess deposits in China. Along the middle reaches of the Huanghe River, mainly in Shaanxi and in Gansu province loess plateau covers vast area amounting to 273,000 $\textrm{km}^2$ Chinese studies on loess and loessial slopes are summarized. And some of the U. S. study and others are also presented for comparison.
The purpose of this study was to transfer the knowledge of oral health care and to improve the oral health after the effective education of oral health behavior. The survey is conducted for 484 middle and high school students in Busan and Gyeongnam province about the oral health behavior, the cause and the preventive of oral diseases and oral health education experience by the self-answering method. The date was analysed using the SPSS 13.0 program. The obtained result were as follows. 1. 38.8% students in middle school have been to the dentist within one year and the reason is the dental care that is to 61.7% in the case of the high school students. 2. For the daily toothbrushing frequency. above 3 times is highest to 57.9% in middle school students and 2 times 59.9% in high school students. 3. 45.9% and 45.0% students in middle and high school have the regular dental check-ups to prevent the dental caries and periodontal disease with greatest portion. 4. 35.7% respondents had experienced oral health education. 48% of them got the education from the dental clinics. 82.2% of the education method is a theory and the contents is toothbrushing method with 58.7% portion. 5. 86% respondents of middle school students answered that regular oral health education is necessary and 78.1% students are willing to participate in the oral health education. The results of this study propose that the regular dental check-ups for middle and high school students enable them have early medical treatment and protection against oral disease. Also for the effective oral health education, those program and various media should be developed systematically to enhance the students' motive for oral health.
Customer satisfaction concerning foodservice quality characteristics were evaluated by using importance performance analysis(IPA) techniques in middle school foodsevice operations. One hundred students from each of 17 middle schools in Gangwon province were surveyed by self-developed questionnaire. Total of 1,675 questionnaires(female 943 and male 732 respectively) were collected and data were analyzed using SAS program. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1.The male and female students scored the importance level as 3.99 and 4.03 out of 5 respectively, which means 'important' The performance level of female(2.71) was significantly lower than male(2.86) which means 'between bad and so-so'. it is suggested that the statistical analysis should be conducted respectively according to gender. And there is no performance level over 4(good). 2. Dissatisfied quality attributes identified were convenience of dinning room and the managerial attitude of dissatisfaction in the female and male students. 3. Satisfied quality attributes identified were hygiene of food and dinning room and spoon and cup and drinking water table and distribution process, taste of food, variety of food in the female and male students. 4. The performance scores of lower price(less than 1500 won) lunch group was higher than higher price(more than 1800 won) lunch group in the female and male students.
The purpose of this study is to research middle school students' interests in the housing education contents of Technology Home Economics Subject - to classify the contents into three units, we have application of living space, indoor environment and equipments, support and repair of housing. This study has a subject of 529 middle schoolers living in Jeonbuk province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS program was utilized to analyze percentage, mean and standard deviation. These materials were also verified by t-test. The results of this research were as follows: Middle school students' interests in housing education contents stayed at a mid-level. There was a significant difference in contents interest according to their gender - boys appeared to have a higher interest than girls. On the basis of these results, it can be suggested that these results offer fundamental information for improving students' critical practice in their real life. Since this study has conducted a limited research with a topic of housing education only, it is essential that further research covering a wider array of themes be done in the future.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of nutrient density diets and sex on carcass and pork quality characteristics in finishing pigs. A total of 96 pigs(58.04 $\pm$ 6.85 kg) were divided into 2 groups(gilts and barrows), each sex group was assigned to 3 nutrient density(high : 18.5%, middle : 16.0% and low: 14.0% CP, respectively) and raised up to 1l0kg live weight. Each treatment had four replicates with three or five pigs per replicate. The treatments comprised the feeding regimes of 1) the low density diet for 60 days, 2) the middle nutrient density diet for the 30 days followed by a low nutrient density diet for the remaining 30 days and 3) the high nutrient density diet for the 30 days followed by a middle nutrient density diet for the remaining 30 days. Pigs were conventionally slaughtered, and then chilled overnight. Carcass characteristics and grades were determined on those carcasses, and pork loin muscle was removed from each left side at 5th to 13th rib for quality evaluation were evaluated. There were no differences in the carcass weight between sex and nutrient density. Dressing percent of L-L(gilts) treatment was significantly higher than that of other treatments(P< 0.05). Barrows showed a thicker back fat thickness than gilts. There were no difference in intramuscular fat, subcutaneous fat and springiness between sex and nutrient density. Intermuscular fat of barrows groups was significantly higher than the gilts groups(P < 0.05). In the meat quality characteristics, there were no difference in general composition, meat and fat color between sex and nutrient density. pH of L-L(gilts) treatment was significantly higher than that of other treatments(P < 0.05). Cooking loss and shear force value of H-M(barrows) treatment were significantly higher than those of other treatments(P< 0.05). Purge loss of barrows groups was significantly higher than the gilts groups(P < 0.05). Myoglobin content of H-M treatment was significantly lower than L-L and M-L treatments(P< 0.05). Texture of H-M treatment was higher than L-L and M-L treatments. The content of myristic, palmitic, palmitoleic and oleic acid were significantly higher in the barrows groups(P< 0.05). However, stearic, linoleic and arachidonic acid were significantly higher in the gilts(P < 0.05). Amino acid content of L-L treatment was significantly higher than M-L and H-M treatments(P < 0.05). In conclusion, carcass and pork quality characteristics were affected by sex and nutrient density.
This study examined effects of good death awareness and knowledge of advance directives on attitude toward advance directives in middle-aged adults. The participants were 152 middle-aged adults in G province and C province. Data were collected from October 4 to November 15, 2019 through self reported structured questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression. Good death awareness correlated positively with knowledge of advance directives and attitude toward advance directives. Knowledge of advance directives was positively correlated with attitude toward advance directives. Participants' economic status, knowledge of advance directives and good death awareness explained 28.3% of variance in attitude toward advance directives among middle-aged adults. The findings indicate that middle-aged adults' economic status, knowledge of advance directives and good death awareness are important factors to be considered for the formation of desirable attitude toward advance directives.
As the educational function of Confucian school in the late Chosun dynasty had been declined, the other educational institution called YANGSAJAE was established. The founders of the institution was either local authorities or local Confucianists. Otherwise the institution was established by the cooperation of both local authorities and local Confucianists. YANGSAJAE began to be established from the 16th century. Most of them was founded in 1700s. In 1800s, it was not so difficult to see YANGSAJAE in many towns in Young nam and Honam provinces. The institution was located in separate places at the early stage of foundation. But since the middle of 1700s, the institution was located in or near the Confucian school. As a consequence, this influenced the location of Confucian schools in the late Chosun dynasty. In Youngnam province, the institution was mainly located near the Confucian school or in a separate place. On the contrary, most of the institution were constructed within Confucian school in Honam province. There were two types of the flat composition: one is based on hall and the other is based on room. The hall type, which had a hall in the middle and rooms in both sides, was general. The hall type usually had a size of 4-kan in width and 1.5-kan in length. The half-hipped roof was the general type and intimately related to the roof of Myung-Ryun Dang of local Confucian School.
Purpose: This study was conducted to find ways to improve foodservice quality and satisfaction of middle school students in school lunch service. Recognition of concerns about school lunch and quality attributes was evaluated by gender. And we tried to investigate quality attributes which could affect degree of foodservice satisfaction by gender. Methods: Two hundred students from each of 6 middle schools (3 schools in urban and 3 schools in rural) in Gyeonggi Province were surveyed using self-developed questionnaires. Total of 1,103 questionnaires (male 556 and female 547) were collected and data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, cross table and stepwise multiple regression by SPSS 11.0. Results: There were not significant differences in average importance scores (male 4.09, female 4.06) and average performance scores (male 3.36, female 3.30) of quality attributes between middle school boys and girls. But there were significant differences in 7 and 6 of 25 quality attributes in evaluating importance and performance respectively by gender. There was not a significant difference (male 3.13, female 3.24) in degree of foodservice satisfaction by gender. But there were significant differences in the distribution of satisfaction. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that degree of satisfaction was influenced by a taste of food, quick complaint handling, providing favorite foods, and food hygiene in male students (F=$51.1^{***}$, adjusted $R^2$=.265). Degree of satisfaction was influenced by a taste of food, providing favorite food, proper meal prices, providing a wide variety of food in female students (F=$91.4^{***}$, adjusted $R^2$=.399). Conclusion: We found out that there were significant differences in quality attributes when evaluating importance and performance and in quality attributes which could affect foodservice satisfaction by gender.
